  1. Factual.....
  2. A little OTT for someone who saw us play a handful of times don't you think
  3. I have. Nothing about who will inherit the club, or what they will do with it. Or if it has been set up as a trust etc etc etc
  4. I have to agree with you. Page after page of mawkish RIPs is of little interest to anyone, least of all his immediate family who are the only ones who will be genuinly feeling this. Who will take over, what does this mean for NC, will we be on the market again??? Any ideas?
  5. Makes NC's recent strategies even more bizzare to be frank, because that will loose revenue in the long term. But thats another matter. Do you know it wasn't 'sudden' then TDD?
  6. He always did look a little yellow to me. Liver problem?
  7. I think Everyone needs to remember, although they have made the most noise, this is not just about the Sun. The Guardian, and Telegraph have both strongly criticised this move by NC, as has the Newspapers trade association. And don't expect any of fleet streets main papers to back down on this as they have 91 other league clubs they can take photos from.
  8. Nobody likes a smart ass. I'm backing Franchise 1, Opposition 2.
  9. Brilliant, and i was about to say good photoshoping, but could they...... no surely?
  10. We won 't see additional revenue in years to come, if our 'brand is so toxic no advertiser wants to be associated with it. And how can you ask top dollar from potential shirt and perimeter advertisers if their name is never seen in newspapers. AS i have said before, any football club from a humble league 1 side to Man United needs the press more than the other way around. If we ban photographers from the nationals what do they care they've got another 91 league clubs to take pictures of. This is a very short sighted policy, and one that shows the current CEO's naivety. I hope ML takes appropriate action.
  11. Good Call Saint Garrett. A real classic of the Milton/Archers in the 70's
  12. i don't want to turn this into a slanging match, but explain to me why you want to **** off the Sun (and by the way the rest of fleet street will take a "fine fvc k you we'll print photos from someone elses game" attitude)? What possible advantage is it to the good ship SFC with no press printing any Saints pictures?
  13. May god strike me down for saying it, but on this issue I'm with the Sun. There is a first for everything.
  14. But you have the answer. Put little pockets of away fans in each block around the ground. Cracking atmosphere
  15. Option 'B' I sit in the Itchen and lack confidence.
  16. You're a brave man. The Cortese is god/evangelical/pollyannas will be after you for even thinking negative. I've been less than sure about Seaborne myself, but the more he plays alongside Fonte the more he will improve
  17. Absolutely agree. Apart from the bit about Nicolas Cortese, who is a clearly a blank and not worthy of our great club.
  18. It was their Cup final, it was our League Cup first round, so not bad.
  19. It's pointless posts like this that spoil this site. If you don't agree with the posters comments ignore them or say something constructive.

    Libellous posts

Not many people knew what the Nazis were planning for the Jews, however everyone knew they were extreme right wing and in the late thirties good people of Southampton fought against Fascism, four Sotonians are known to have lost there lives, fighting with the International Brigade in Spain.
  21. The orriginal post may not have been meant as Cortese bashing (as if the delicate little petal has had enough), but I'm more than prepared to turn it into one. What spanner of a CEO, who presumably what's the team to do well away fro home and pleased to see as many away fans as possible, just sees it as another opportunity to squeeze a few extra quid out of them???? And no i don't have an agenda, and yes I'm grateful than NC delivered us from the gates of the receiver, and no i don't want him out. I just wish he would stop making idiotic decisions in an attempt to make a few extra quid at the expense of everything else.
  22. Well the 3 of 4 teams who are big enough to warrant newspapers publishing pictures of them every week haven't gone down the NC "Our pictures or no pictures" route, so i guess that tells you all you want to know. I think a lot of people are unaware how little these photos change hands for from. It's a few hundred quid a time. And to simply get a slightly bigger slice of that small amount NC has ****ed off the press, who can give you positive coverage of negative coverage depending on how they feel. But I think there is a bigger issue. For once nearly everyone of this forum is in agreement that this was not a good idea. Most could have predicted the outcome. If NC judgment is this poor on this issue what else has he screwed up, and what else will he screw up?
  23. Advertising seen by 20k in the ground, and the potential of 6 million in sunday papers sold each week. Siege mentality may work, or you could have unsettling stories about Lallana connected to this club, and Lambert to that club, that aint going to help anyone
  24. Well try to sell perimiter advertising with no press coverage, or next season try looking for a shirt sponsor. In the scheme of things, if all the media outlets had gone along with this we would have made only peanuts. But Fleet Street doesn't like being pushed around; look out for plenty more negative stories about SFC thanks to this silly policy
  25. But others won't follow suit, as the bottom line is no national newspaper needs photos from SMS to sell papers. Have a think and ask yourself why Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea etc etc don't do this, and NC thinks a League 1 club is going to make Fleet street sit up and take notice???? What is worrying is a blind man with Mongolia could see this policy would back-fire. What else is NC going to screw up?
