If we left the EU, GB would be even more of an irrelevance politically on the world stage, isolated economically, and ignored completely in Washington. Thats why the Tories, Labour, and Lib dems don't want it. Even that mad bat Thatcher wouldn't pull us out. The only people who call for it our low brow right wing papers who see an easy target to aim their vitriol at and wind up their gullible readers.

A lot of it was already known, but no harm reminding people what a bunch of crooks run the game. If broadcasters in other countries reported FIFAs corruption more often then they might start cleaning up their act.

If there had been trains i would have gone. But I'm not going to drive, and neither will any of my fellow gangsters, and i would rather go to the in-laws than go by bingo bus. Cold turkey all round.

A well deserved reward for a manager that not only gave us are greatest day, but established us as a top flight club, and league runners up in '84.

Doing something about it is not the point, even if there was something. The point is knowing whether the threads are a fair reflection of those who would post on it or not.

I didn't realise he had been banned, just thought he was fed up with the site! Hey-ho, another one bites the dust.

I agree with you Hypo. But I don't think we will be told. In the absence of a proper and full explanation I have to presume the worst. Never mind. Who is going to Hartlepool?
-
Some of what Left-Back had to say I agree with, some I didn't, a lot proved to be accurate some not so. He was entertaining though. A forum has to be about more than just "whose going to Hartlepool?" threads. If the mods banned LB because they were getting jumpy about Libel action, that is regrettable but understandable; it is after all their necks on the line. If the club put pressure on Saintweb to ban him that is bloody disgraceful, but given NC's inability to get along with anyone, and generally screw things up, not surprising.

Portsmyth away will do for me.

You know this as a fact?

feeling a bit embarassed to be a Saints fan tonight
docker-p replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
The measure of a club is the reaction of the fans during the bad times. No other club in the South would average 20K+ in the middle of the third flight. So during these last couple of years I've been far from embarrassed to be a Saints fan. -
I was never that enamored with AP, he was doing a 'reasonable' job. Where the wheels came loose is during the close season. If NC wanted a change, thats when he should have done it, and then the new guy would have a some preparation time, we wouldn't have been treading water under a caretaker manager, and NC wouldn't have been bounced into the only realistic appointment he could make. That said, what we've got with NA is a manager with potential. He may realise that potential with us or it all might end in tears. If it's the later the only person to blame is NC. Of course non of the above applies if you believe the smoke and mirrors stories rumored on here about training ground bust ups and gross misconduct against AP. All way too convenient for covering NCs ass. All in my humble non ITK opinion.

Put a figure on it. I need laugh. -
A site near the Western Docks was ruled out originally as all the ground is reclaimed, and unsuitable for such a project without prohibitory expense underpinning.

I remember a similar survey (could have been the same one). It had us as the 18th biggest club in the UK, four scottish clubs in there, so that would tally with your 14th in England. The survey was based on which club people said the followed as well as supported, so included people who never go to a game but just listen out for their clubs result etc were included. I remember Man U were top, surprise surprise, with I think 4m supporters/followers, twice that of Liverpool in second place. Third and fourth were Celtic and Rangers, can't remember which way around. In our 18th palace we were sandwiched between Hearts and Norwich. The survey I saw was just the top 25. Noted for the absence was Portsmyth. I think we boasted 350K followers/ supporters. I don't know how they did the survey as they obviously didn't talk to 4m manu fans and 350K Saints fans so some sort of sampling went on.

If only we had a chairmen who understood what it takes to realise the clubs ambitions, (rather than his) and picked his fights accordingly. (Sorry, but he started it)

So people do buy the Echo to find out about the Saints then? A lot of people on this thread have been claiming otherwise. You would have thought it was in NC interests to have a good working relationship with them in that case.
-
The echo don't need the club either. Circulation hasn't dropped since their various bans as far as I'm aware. But you tell me why NC is yet again picking unnecessary fights.
