The couple of times I had any dealing with David Luker he was very helpful, once personally sorting out my ticketing cock-up while in the maelstrom of the lead up to the JP final. Good luck to him.

Isnt it time to name-and-shame "the group behind the scenes" ?

And you blindly believe NC about this 'milking' allegation? It wouldn't be that he has an agenda to discredit those that he feels aren't on his side.? I'm not saying that is the case, just that there is no more reason to believe NC than anyone else. -
BBC annoyed with Daily Echo over Saints coverage

I think the Echo does a good job, and i buy it regularly. -
Err.... maybe because without an educated society there is little opportunity to create wealth. The wealthiest nations have the best education systems. Fact. If the government wants to save money they could start by cutting back on our pointless armed forces.

There is nothing going on that doesn't go on at ever club up and down the country every day. The difference is NC can't take any sort of criticism and is paranoid and/or has very thin skin. Half of his interview was about "others, outside the club" FFS It's time NC grew a pair. 99.9 % of Saints fans aren't even aware that "others" are criticising NC. Which just illustrates NC's paranoia further. -
Safe Standing Bill in Parliament - template letter now attached

I'm fairly ambivalent to the return of terraces. Ten years ago I would have been bang up for them back. Age I guess. I would be surprised if terracing is returned in any form, not least because the Police are almost certain to oppose it, not that they have a vote, but would be consulted. -
I happen to know it's his Christmas Message to the nation. He wanted to get in ahead of the Pope and Her Maj.
-
I know you're not suppose to post anything even remotely critical of the club on this forum. But £20 for a ticket, for less than attractive opposition, who will play their reserve side just after christmas, and after two homes games in quick succession is not good pricing.

My worry is NC will be in the one doing the 'selling'. And using his contacts in the banking world will find another non-hands on owner, who'll install NC as the CEO.
-
I don't see why anyone would be surprised by this. I expect all ML various business interests are being reviewed by those he left them to, and if its good business to sell, I expect they will sell. On the positive side we get rid of that numbnut Cortesse, on the negative side any purchaser may use debt to fund the purchase, and if that is mismanaged we're back where Lowe left off !!!
-
They did ?? I was wondering why he never gets a game for us anymore.
-
Just when you think they can't get any more vile. And they call us scum !!!!

It's a language called 'Mockney'. It's spoken in the home counties mostly and Portsmouth. It's a sort of cockney but without being in London.
-
Whats happened to the Cheltenham game. I demand my 6 points !!!! Which if it hadn't been for that meddling Gobern would have been 10 !!!!!

Oi, Pilsbury, back in your box!

Me too. Days just roll into one another.

Good job he keeps his plumbs in a bag or he would have lost those too!!

Personally I think Derry's original post is at fault. Yes it is a good gesture by the club. Fullstop. It didn't need to be headlined as some sort of massive gesture by your man NC. Those who support NC can not go grasping at every little example of humanity as evidence that NC is doing a good job. And likewise those who think he is a plumb should not perhaps think of this a scheming PR. It was worthwhile act by the club. End of.

Go for the proper Saints shirt ie Red & White stripes. Not that abysmal white kit with sash.

Why the fVk should they? FIFA is bent. If a few more news organisations around the world did as the BBC and Sunday Times did, then FIFA would have to clean up their act, and World cup bids would go to the best candidate, possibly England, and not to who gives the biggest bungs, probably Russia/ Quatar. I would rather not have the that oily little pratt Blatter anywhere near our shores anyway.
-
This. A good bit of PR all for the price of a plaque and a handful of screws.

My dad was a young schoolboy in Shirley at the time of the Blitz; and was evacuated with all the other kids from Southampton to Bournemouth for their safety; bizarrely enough only Monday to Friday when they all returned for the weekend. Presumably the authorities of the time didn't think the Luftwaffe devilish enough to bomb at weekends!

Some good points. The demise of the FA Cup can certainly be traced to the foundation of the Premier league, (or Year Zero, before which no football statistic was relevant). When I was first watching cup football in the 70's crowds would increase for cup games rather than diminish. One way or rectifying that situation is giving a champions league place to the winner, something that the FA could do if they so wished, but don't hold your breath waiting for the Premier League to agree to that.
