  1. Tony "Der Panzerwagon" Martin wins his 5th World Champions jersey in his last race before retiring.
  2. Opening with Mason Crane, what an inspired decision. Hants 1:2, effectively 3:2.
  3. Having finished fixing the crashed bike yesterday I took it out today for a spin today, including the last leg along the sea wall. The bike didn't seem to have any psycological issues passing the point where we had our "off", so all well and good. As for me, I still have some bruising on my shoulder, my back is still stiff, and I have not recovered any memory of the crash. Probably just as well.
  4. Shame Hants couldn't finish them off from 47:7. Still, we have spent the whole season doing things the hard way. Would losing the title by half a point be a successful season or a failure ?
  5. And where exactly will you be as these rioters "burn the place down" ?
  6. Obviously hasn't read the OP of this thread. Perhaps BoJo should have taken Guided Missile to explain things.
  7. Another stellar batting performance. Hopefully the bowlers can follow up their good startr and keep the Lancashire score down tomorrow. Looking at the other scores, in Div 2 the Essex v Northants game had 25 wickets on day 1.
  8. So which factors are so different for Germany that our wholesale electricity price is now more than twice theirs when it was almost the same less than a year ago; Lack of wind decommissioning nuclear decommissioning coal rising gas prices Brexit Other national Government decisions
  9. Explain why the UK is paying so much more for electricity than the EU countries, as compared to before Brexit;
  10. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/58932-emma-raducanu/
  11. Rubbish !!! As Weston has pointed out, it is nothing to do with Brexit and everything to do with the law of "supply and demand" and the lack of wind. 🤣🤣( On that last point, if they put a turbine in the Cabinet meeting room at No 10 it would generate plenty with the amount of bluster those bastards produce).
  12. For clarification, having dug a bit further, there are, in fact, 5 connections from the Nationl Grid to Europe with a 6th under construction. The link that has shut down is the largest, providing at peak about 5% of the UK's power supply. The other links provide at peak about another 10%.
  13. Not at all, but leaving the EU left us outside the 'level playing field' for electricity futures trading and the spot market. So whilst the other factors make the situation worse, the reality is that we would still be paying more than we previously did for supply from France, and that is solely down to Brexit.
  14. The EU market levels everybody up due to the interconnections between the grids and common purchasing rules. Having left the EU we left this level playing field, and now that the cable under the channel that links the National Grid to France has been shut down until March, due to a major fire, we have lost our ability to top up from their system.
  15. The only honest noise he produces are his farts.
  16. No, that graphic is taken directly from the spot trading site yesterday. The figures are directly comparible.
  17. So, to be clear, the only currently reported benefit of Brexit is that Australia can now build nuclear submarines using US nuclear propulsion technology. Didn't read that in the Leave.EU propaganda.
  18. The £400 price was the "day ahead" spot market price; https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-09-13/u-k-power-prices-hit-record-as-outages-low-winds-cut-supply "Electricity prices soared to a record in Britain as a period of still weather is curbing wind power, exposing the U.K.’s reliance on intermittent renewables. U.K. power for next day exceed 400 pounds ($553) a megawatt-hour at an auction on Monday, an all-time high. Wind generation is currently below normal, accounting for about 11% of all the electricity entering the grid. That’s leaving the market exposed to swings at a time five nuclear units are offline." Currently UK spot price is between £250 and £280 per MWh, European prices are around €150-€170 per MWh
  19. They only ever seem to show one angle, the one that is most likely to overturn the decision. How many time has a ref reviewed something and stuck with the original conclusion ?
  20. Coating
  21. Former pro rider Chris Anker Sorensen has been killed whilst riding in Belgium, where he was to commentate on the World Championships next week for Danish TV. He was knocked off his bike by a van driver. He had just turned 37. RIP
  22. But we got our country back, and we are well out of a bloated and sclerotic institution that is about to collapse into anarchy as the failure of Deutsche Bank brings down the Euro zone.
  23. MOTD analysis; definite penalty but not a red card for Walker. Jermaine Jenas said they thought that the ref was invited to the pitchside monitor to review and negate the red card, not the whole decision.
