  1. Revenge for the 1 day cup final. Got into the car on the car park at Kenilworth Castle and they were 2 down, by the time we got to Leamington Spa they were 7 down. ( A journey of 6 miles ).

  3. As an aside, I see that International Trade Secretary Liz Truss has had to apologise to a court for 'accidentally' licencing military spares for Saudi Arabia, in contravention of a court order and a promise to Parliament.

  5. The Sun isn't fit for toilet paper.
  6. Did anybody hear Lucy Harris, the Brexit Party MEP, getting destroyed by Stephen Nolan on Radio 5 last night ? She failed to answer any of his questions, including; How many UK citizens live in the EU? What percentage of our food comes from the EU? What food would be most affected in the event of a no deal Brexit? What happens to the EHIC in the event of a no deal Brexit ? What will happen to pensions and benefits for UK citizens that remain the EU after Brexit? She set out to attack Kay Burley and media bias, and ended up complaining that the questions were hypothetical and needed to be addressed after we have left, and the BBC hadn't briefed her about the questions she would be asked. ( Most of her expectations were that because the EU are 'very good friends to us', she doesn't see why the EU wouldn't be generous to us and give us a good deal ). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0008gjb ( starts at 46 minutes and runs for 14 minutes )
  7. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/49655721 "Chelcee Grimes and stylist Jay Hines run the rule over the Premier League kits for the 2019-20 season. Which kit will be crowned the league's best and which deserve to go down?" Saints home shirt is critiqued at at 2:17, naturally comes in the bottom 3. Then again, the opinion of somebody spelling their name Chelcee must be suspect.
  8. But if they don't believe we would actually leave with no deal, the threat is moot.
  9. Which is exactly what they are doing. It's the price that Boris has to pay for having a 'majority' of -41.
  10. Just watched the Last Night of the Proms on the BBC iPlayer - so many EU flags being waved, and EU hats being worn, by people singing Rule Britannia, Land of Hope and Glory, and God Save the Queen. Typical of the Metropolitan Elite.
  11. Wasn't Ralph a striker ?
  12. I think the commentary on MOTD mentioned this when the incident occurred.
  13. Is it not that we have 50% of the world population of the Common Bluebell, otherwise known as the British Bluebell?

  15. As the Hurricane is a single seater there is not a lot of room for cargo, and although it has a large bomb bay there's only 1 flying Lanc in the UK. So much for contingency planning ;-)
  16. A pro hard-Brexit website supporting the 'nuclear' option. Quelle Surpise !
  17. If we're not checking imports how will these delays occur? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-no-deal-ports-eu-goods-customs-checks-calais-dover-hmrc-theresa-may-a8762591.html Waving through imports from the EU will be a calculated risk, taking post-dated declarations on trust, but this won't cover imports from all the other countries, with whom we will not have trade deals once we walk away from the ones we currently operate under as part of the EU.
  18. Drink nine pints, pull, wake up in the morning and realise your vision and judgement had been seriously impaired.
  19. Scoreboard pressure of chasing over 400, even with Fidel in the same generous mood as the first innings, should be enough.

  21. There are a couple of regulars on the match day threads who would probably be happy.
  22. No it isn't, it's a "Base Case", whatever that is but I presume they mean baseline, that has been retitled before yesterday's forced release.
  23. Business Minister Kwasi Kwarteng hiding his opinion that the judiciary is biased against the Government by hiding behind "People are saying.....". Will the "Enemies of the People" newspaper front pages make a reappearance ?
  24. Why rename it from 'Base Case' ? If it wasn't the 'Worst Case' then, it isn't now. As noted above, point 15, according to the copy leaked a month ago :"Petrol import tariffs, which the government has set at 0%, will “inadvertently” lead to the closure of two oil refineries, 2,000 job losses, widespread strike action and disruptions to fuel availability"
  25. I know it's not an EU related decision, but is this indicative of the sort of European legal ruling that Brexiteers are opposed to ? "A French company has been found liable for the death of an employee who had a cardiac arrest while having sex with a stranger on a business trip. A Paris court ruled that his death was an industrial accident and that the family was entitled to compensation." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-49662134
