  1. To lose by an innings when the opposition only just scraped 200 is abysmal.
  2. The biggest potential 'fatal' threat to Boris's campaign, is Boris. We live in hope. :-)
  3. So to summarise; Jeremy Corbyn has launched a limpet mine against a tanker, from the non-Iranian side of the gulf of Hormuz, and is threatening a nuclear strike against an unspecified country.
  4. Letting Bertie go and promoting Targett to first choice definitely weakens the team defensively. For all the good they showed last season, a potential starting back 4 including Valery, Targett, and Bednarek is extremely inexperienced.
  5. FIFA issued guidance before last year's World Cup, that told linos to delay flagging so that VAR could make the decisions. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jun/12/var-world-cup-referees-flag-offsides-pierluigi-collina
  6. That statement makes 2 assumptions about the subject.
  7. No we wouldn't, as it was against Man Utd.
  8. Football should learn the lessons from other sports, such as rugby and cricket; the presumption should be that the onfield decision was correct, and the result of the review entirely the remit of the video official. 1 'appeal' per half, per team, retained if upheld, and benefit of the doubt for offside given to the attacking side. A review of the handball rule is also needed, as based on the last few months I can see attackers practicing flicking the ball up at defenders' arms in anticipation of a VAR penalty.
  9. Daily Torygraph headline today; "Ministers plot to ensure Johnson is only name on ballot".
  10. Root is the first English batsman to score 3 centuries in World Cup matches.
  11. To stand for a leadership contest at that time, a candidate needed the backing of 12.5% of MPs, ( 45 ). Brown had over 90% backing him at the nomination stage, hence it was uncontested.
  12. Anthony Pulis was way overpriced as a free transfer.
  13. Hypocrisy is an essential life skill for politicians.
  14. As GM says above, this is the way it happens, exactly how Gordon Brown became PM. However, some of the non-Brexit related policy statements might be classed as undemocratic, as they haven't been presented in manifestos and subjected to public debate and vote.

  16. What a narrow minded and bigoted view you hold of the world.
  17. And how is that different from "We send the EU £350 million every week" ?
  18. The only thing Boris cares about is Boris. His opportunist volte-face from being pro-EU to palling up with Farage and Galloway was entirely self-serving.
  19. I'm not sure it is, I suspect that if he gets to the final 3 the MPs will duck out of putting him forward to the membership. He may have the most MPs backing him now, but how many of the others will have him as their 2nd or 3rd choice option should their first choice get binned ?
  20. Keeps the Grockles away.
  21. Is that a Blue Rinse permanent wave ?
  22. Nice to see the BBC are right on the mark with their reporting; "One Conservative MP has launched a strong attack on Boris Johnson in the anti-Brexit newspaper, the New European. Former attorney general - and campaigner for another referendum - Dominic Grieve describes Mr Johnson as "a shallow populist - manifestly unsuitable for high office - who would undoubtedly be a disaster for the country and bring doom to the Conservative Party.” Put him down as a maybe?" The article linked and quoted in the Beeb item was published on the 11th October last year.
  23. Finding your front door when going home from a stag do ?
