Agreed. Maya's looked great so far this season and I'd have no problem at all with him starting ahead of Jose.
-
Is this sold out? Can't seem to get any details on the website (most likely having a senior moment).

First game I've really enjoyed watching us this season (funny that...). Looked like the formation is starting to click and we had that confidence back. Romeu was awesome as was Hodjberg and Virgil (as always). Honourable mention for Yoshida who made some excellent challenges and played his part well (bar one mistimed sliding tackle). I'd be tempted to start him ahead of Jose based on last night. Austin started well but then faded in the second half. Jay Rod took his goal very well and I'd like to see him get a full game soon. Unfortunately Targett was once again well below par. Going forwards he's not bad with a few good runs every now and again, but defensively he made numerous errors. Squad player for cover, nothing more. Ward-Prowse also didn't look great, but then it's difficult to make a memorable impact when your surrounded by players having a game like Romeu and Hodjberg did.

I don't think it's a case of why can't we spend zillions, which makes it sound as if fans are crying out for the club to splash the cash just for the sake of it. The bottom line is that I think most on here would agree when I say we need to strengthen in a couple of areas. Considering our net spend this window I don't think it's unrealistic to expect another couple of decent attacking options, and when our manager is quoted as saying that he's happy with the squad it makes you start to worry about the season ahead. If Long gets injured or gets burnt out due to the quantity of games, then we are left with Austin (questionable recent history with injuries and apparently unsuited to our new formation), JRod (hasn't played a full game since Potch was our manager and has showed little of his previous capability since), and Redmond (never previously played as a striker). For a team wanting a cup run, Europa run, and top ten finish, I'd say we're a long way from that. A new striker and Mane replacement could solve all of that and judging by our typical incoming transfer fee's we'd still probably be the only PL club to break even. It's a simple solution most people can see, and with our defence and midfield the way it is, we could end up having another great season!

If he doesn't show up today then he's as good as gone. No pictures of him from the club so far. Such a shame if he does go. Was only a few weeks ago we were calling for him to be up on the banner and now he's cashing out like the others.

Pleased that Norwich have kept Alex Neil in charge. Straight talking, calm and an intelligent leader. Can see them coming straight back up again.

They could well be. Apologies if I didn't make my point clear, I was trying to state that they have an immigration problem but it's no worse than numerous other European countries, so the cause for these repeat attacks on France cannot really be attributed to that.
-
Many people believe it's due to the whole North African French colonial thing as a lot of the attackers and people arrested prior to attacks have been of Algerian descent etc, but it's just speculation. Yes, they have a serious immigration problem (one walk around the northern districts of Paris will show just how bad it is) but again, it's not that different to somewhere like Hamburg.

I think you'd be hard pushed to find a Saints fan who didn't like Jose before or after the Euro's. Rarely puts a foot wrong and is an outstanding captain on and off the pitch. Saints legend.

Thanks for the updates! Much appreciated.

Absolutely awful. Yet another attack involving scores of innocent people enjoying themselves. How do you stop this?
-
So where are we still short? Definitely need a new striker with Pelle gone. I reckon we also need a central attacking midfielder, goalkeeper, and possibly another wide attacking player. Judging by our business over the last few windows we'll be spending approx 10-12mil on a player, so using the money we've made from sales so far this window to buy the noted positions we should break even. Surely we must be the only club in league to be able to say that?! I for one would be very happy with this but would love to see the club spend some additional money on developing the area around St. Mary's.

The more I read about this guy the more I like. It does now sound as though he's Wanyama's replacement though.
-
Absolutely brilliant news!
-
Agreed. He has a calm intelligence about him and it seemed as though he's genuinely excited to be here and get going. Very mature character for someone who's only 20 years old.

Fourfourtwo is so poor. Teenagers stuff. Apparently written by one as well... On the Bournemouth kit. "A humdinger: this new effort adds a stylish collar and sharp gold trim to an already-powerful red and white Cherries top. Even that weird Mansion sponsor’s logo blends in perfectly. Title-challenging material."

Thanks again. It'd be a huge blow if we lost Tadic as well as Mane. Hopefully now Koeman's gone he'll be happy to stay...

Cheers for everything Graziano! That QPR goal is the best I've ever seen at a match. We'll miss his hold up play for sure. -
I thought he was brilliant. It even says in the Telegraph link that he bested Payet, arguably Frances most dangerous player. Not quite sure how that means he gets a rating of 6...
-
Classic quote from the comments section on that link... "He played last night, didn't he? I think he was extremely competent, resilient and effective. I don't know who he plays for at the moment but to have him (ready made) alongside Kolselny would be great."
-
Thanks for this! Sounds like an exciting player. The new Schneiderlin?
-
He should be up there, no question.

I read somewhere that he see's himself as more of an attacking midfielder and likes to get forward. Has he been signed to fill this role then? Felt for a long time that we've lacked in this position. Quite excited about this one!
