If Pelle's fit as Koeman says then he should start. We need an out ball against a team who press and fight as hard as Watford.
-
No, but last week people were making him out to be a Berahino-type troublemaker so I thought I'd reinforce how utterly baseless that idea was.
-
I'd just like to note Mane's committed performance today. He was up and trying to motivate his team mates when we conceded.
-
A career in management beckons.
-
The bag searches were very efficient at the turnstiles today.
-
You don't think everyone else at the club will be planning long term even if, for some bizarre reason, Koeman doesn't bother?
-
I expect Everton fans know exactly how we feel from their experience last season.
-
No idea where you're getting that from. Managers with that attitude would lose every game 4-0. I was actually sat about 10 yards behind him today and heard the shouts you wouldn't otherwise.
-
That's been said in interviews before, yeah, but I'd imagine most people on it are still in work and not looking to move mid season. We acted when Pochettino became available and could do again with someone else, I suppose.
-
I think you're right - and that's a healthy dose of perspective. Lose the next two and those questions will come though.
-
Yep.
-
If there is a strong replacement available in the middle of the season - ala Pochettino for Adkins - then perhaps it will be considered if we don't pick up. Otherwise, can't see it. Last thing we want is managerless limbo.
-
Not sure about that, the players always describe him as relaxed and good humoured. Aren't all personalities okay as long as they're delivering? Apart from, y'know, the other two.
-
Well they haven't, but alright.
-
Really fear the next two now. Win that and we may have gone in with the fight to match Watford. And we could have won with some cutting edge/more than two attackers from the start/Hennessey out of form. Still mystified by three at the back, still frustrated at the fluctuating effort and pressing.
-
Doh! Course he is. Thanks! I suppose effective 352 can also help against wingers because the wide centre halves can come out and cover quicker. It's just that every time we've played it this season the players have looked hesitant and unsure of where to position themselves. I might be forgetting a game but the last good performance I can remember with that shape was Everton last seals.
-
I'd normally be inclined to agree, but three at the back has not worked for us at all this season. Where's Wanyama?
-
It should not be a part of football or society. Get real. Do you accept violence as 'part of football'?
-
He'd be lethal in that team if they keep their form up but he'll probably have the same ego problems there. Dzeko was absolutely brilliant, but I wouldn't sniff at Bony. And Saints would be extremely lucky to get either!
-
Well, you'd hope that isn't necessary.
-
Bit strange that he's coming out with lines like that at the same time as insisting the players are happy. Either the players are fine and he's using that language to stem the media or the players are unhappy and he's being a little disingenuous. Anyone know the question(s) he was asked?
-
If only, they're so cheery!
-
Someone who's not any good, then.

Interesting. I'm in Winchester High Street nearly every day and have never seen Van Dijk, Mane or Romeu around. Saw that picture Romeu posted from the Itchen though. (Gardos also lives in Winchester, by the way)
