If we are short of cash we need to move one keeper and if it's easier to find a buyer for him than FF then he might go. £20m is far too high though, I would have thought around £6-8m max but I'm not sure there any PL clubs who would pay that for him.

Bournemouth. Looking for backup keeper as Boruc has been awful this season when called upon. He would have the opportunity to be the No.1 there too as Begovic has also been having a bad season.

U21s don't count towards the 25 man squad limit, so Gabbi leaving won't affect this. It will mean we will have another over 21 place free in addition to the one already freed up by Davis leaving. I assume one of these will be taken by the (over 21) Hesketh which leaves us one free if we are to add a new signing or loan. I assume this would be for a CB. We could easily free up another space as we are carrying 5 first team keepers which is not needed. While the 4th choice (Lewis) is on the U21 list the 5th choice (Rose) is on the 25 man Over 21 list so omitting him would be a no brainer.

Barnes is too old to count as an U21 player and wasn't listed in the squad list submitted after the Summer window. Despite his Cup cameo I see little reason to think the club will be putting him in the PL 25 man list for the remainder of the season. As said above no point in listing Rose in the 25 as he is our 5th choice keeper so will be removed from the list when/if we sign someone.

Probably? Leganes record transfer fee is around 3m Euros. We'll be lucky to get anything substantial back for him. When he does go it won't be to Leganes, that is just a shop window the club are putting him in - more in hope than expectation.

Our main problem is that since Cortese left we haven't had any one person running the club for the owner and so it's no surprise we are lacking direction. Gao should have done that the new owners of Villa did and appoint a new CEO as soon as they took over.

If you have owners who don't want to run the club then fair enough but you need one person, ultimately responsible to the owners, who run it for them. It's what we had with Cortese and what Spurs have Levy. The problem is when Cortese was kicked out we never bothered to replace him and the nearest we have to the person running the club on a day to day basis is a Canadian Ice Hockey coach who occasionally pops into the country. It's no surprise we are a rudderless ship.

The big issue with the 39th game has always been how do you not make things unequal? Every team playing every other team home and away is totally balanced but happens if you add an extra game? If two teams are battling relegation and one has to play a team of a similar level while the other is playing Man City then that is a huge advantage.
