If we got owners who didn't sell our best players every Summer it would be better. It's difficult to get too carried away with another VVD masterclass when it jsut means he will be sold in the Summer to the highest bidder.

I think the one thing it was not is safe. Safe is having players brought in and not money in the bank. It's not a safe strategy when, in order to turn a nice fat profit, you risk getting dragged into a relegation battle which, if we lose, would cost the clubs hundreds of millions of pounds.

In these times of managers and players f'king off we need some stability.

He goes missing for half the season but he's a decent striker for the other half and it will cost far more than an extra one or two years to replace him so it's ridiculous penny pinching from the club if we are only offering him a 1 year extension.

I doubt the new one will ever make it there....
