He's got a point. The board have set the budget for us to be 7th-10th place club it's just that Koeman has radically over-achieved this season. Long-term we will be around that position. In order for us to challenge the big boys long term we would need owner investment as had had to happen at Man City. Our owner wants us to be self-sufficient which is her prerogative but we won't be able to compete with those teams like this, een with FFP.

Europa League will be meaningless for keeping players. If Man U come in for Clyne do you really think it will enter his mind to stay as we are going to be playing the likes of FC Sherrif on a Thursday evening?

For evening games Chelsea have started turning off the floodlights and having the stadium in darkness as the players come out barring for the tunnel area being lit up. They can do this as the new LED floodlights can be turned on and off at will and don't need time to warm up like the old type. We are the only other club in the UK which has LED floodlights and so could do similar.

FFP allows a club to lose £150m over 3 years. I'm not sure Kat's generosity is anyway near that level.

This window will give a great indication if the board really do have the long-term ambition to crack the top 6 or if they had merely just set their stall out for a mid-table finish and Koeman Bros are massively over achieving. If the ambition is there then it is a no-brainer to bring in a couple of players this window in order to push on for top 4, especially given the current spate of injuries and also given the fact we were one of only 2 PL clubs to spend less than we took in transfer fees in the Summer. Without bringing in a couple of new faces the season could easily fizzle out into a 7th or 8th place finish and no Europe.

Have you actually looked at the stats for the number of assists JWP has provided this season. He'll do well to have done that by just passing sideways.

To lose 5 or 6 first choice players from your team and actually improve is amazingly difficult to do once, to do twice in a row will be pretty much impossible.
