  1. I can see why those on the payroll get stick but the DJ is one of us and if he was ****ed good on him. It was a day out and he acted in good faith. Saintkiptanui when you get a little older and become less conscious of image and what music people see you listening to then you will discover that Status Quo are actully quite entertaining. Rocking All over the World becomes and anthem after 5 or 6 pints.
  2. I don't think that Thorpe Le Saint is a racist but he can somtimes be rude.
  3. So its OK to discriminate against a nation; discrimination is OK under certain criteria. I feel that all prejudice and bigotry is wrong and that there may be some hypocrisy going on here. So you can refer to Japanese people as 'nips' because it is a nation? I am sorry but the left are so self righteous that they should sometimes look in the mirror. Personally I will have a pint with anyone if they are good company.
  4. Arizona I think you are right. It is still however discrimination and any discrimination is abhorrent.
  5. He was photographed in the Sun quite recently walking down the street.
  6. Come on Thorpe Le Saint the context in which you used that derogatory term for an American, implied there was something wrong with being an American. Now whether you like it or not that is racist and I found it very ironic that while berating somebody else for showing favour to the BNP you showed the classic symptoms of bigotry and prejudice. Unless of course there are acceptable forms of racism?
  7. I cannot but smirk at this. 'Yank'; Thorpe Le Saint are you racist towards our American cousins? Is it OK to be racist towards some people and not others?
  8. Ashamed to say BNP. Very interesting to discover I have an inner Nazi inside of me!
  9. Wiltshire Saint you are very wrong; I believe passionately that you get the best out of people when you look after them - look at John Lewis. The problem is that we compete in a global marketplace where companies will go elsewhere if they feel they can operate more competively - that is life rightly or wrongly. Unions have made the UK marketplace unattractive to foreign investors as Top Gun's example illustrates. That is why we have a shrinking private sector and a growng public sector (how long can that go on?). The public sector worker generally has shorter hours, takes more time off sick, has longer holidays and retires earlier. We in the private sector have been told that we must retire later to accomodate this. It is market forces. Your model would have us like Cuba.
  10. Unions no doubt have a role to play but it is a buyers market today and if you do not accept it then they will loom elsewhere; like East Europe. This comment sums up a mentality that should stay firmly in the seventies. How many other foreign investors have been turned away from propsectus sites by this attitude.
  11. It makes a lot of sense to sign a player on to your pay roll now knowing that he cannot play for you until next season.
  12. Cheers Woodsaint saved me a lot of searching!
  13. For my boys birthday I want to get him a full strip but do not know where I can find it on the saints online shop. What should I look for?
  14. So basically its either 9 points off or AFC Portsmouth
  15. Is it just me but why have they not had their nine points chooped off yet?
  16. If you want socialism go and live in Belarus or Cuba.
  17. Yes Fuengirola Saint and the Socialist model you live under in Spain has delivered..... .....20% unemployment. It is the entrepreneurs, the pioneers the innovators and the ambitious that will get us out of this mess; the wealth creators. You have to create the right environement for them to flourish and that means lower taxes.
  18. Fuengirola Saint how do you define fair; it was fairer for some and unfair for others and like all new taxes woudl probably raise more money than the previous system.

  20. Thank you for the economics lecture Fuengirola Saint. Out of interest what do you do in Spain?

  22. How many Lord Montugu's are there Fuengirola? I expect you may have noticed in Spain that we are being run a bit like Portsmouth FC and that is why your pound does not go as far as it did. Stop fighting your class war and think of the bigger picture.
  23. Thorpey you are not getting all pseudi Intellectual are you!?? It is a sweeping statement to say that academics have dismissed Haig as a Donkey. Some have it is true but not all. Personally (and I am not an academic) from what I have read of him I concluded him to be a butcher lacking in Charisma (he was hardly Custer or Monty), who fought a war with very limited flair. He received a state funeral in my opinion because Britain needed a hero to celebrate a decade after the end of the war and because of his work for ex servicemen after the war.
  24. If you are not a socialist when you are twenty then you have not got a heart but if you are still a socialist when you are forty then you have not got a head. However unsavoury, Britain has to be run as a business and Michael Foot's vision was based on an ideology that would have crippled us. Maggie got it right; people lost their jobs not because of her but because the Unions had made us uncompetitive in a global marketplace. What socialists never understand is that not everyone can work for the State; somebody has to create wealth. There will always be pigs at the top but under socialism there will be fewer of them.
  25. Always a tragedy to see the passing of politicians motivated by a sense of duty. When he went into politics poverty was judged in very different terms.
