As somebody who voted UKIP in the European elections, I think you are correct. It would be 70-30 in favour of staying in. The rump of the anti EU vote would melt away and that would just leave the jingoism vote. I voted UKIP because it sends a message to Brussels that I see the role of Europe as an economic not a political one. Currently the EU model is flawed and its faults need to be addressed. I would embrace a slimmed down Europe which showcased free trade and loosened the ties that are currently suffocating national parliaments. We would be very unwise to leave Europe though, not because we could not in theory continue to trade with them but because in practice they would shut us out as punishment. The overall bad feeling it would generate would be catastrophic.

Who is going to risk another referendum in the next 20 years? And when there is one then it should be open to all Scots in the Union and not just ones that have stayed in Scotland. If you are Scottish you should have the right to decide on your nation's future.

Unfortunately that is realism. You only raise living standards by creating wealth and you have to incentivise people to come and create wealth. Unfortunately the side effect of such a society is you have some very rich people at the top.

Yup, the People's Scotland they could make it like Venezuela or Belarus or North Korea. They can look to Hollandes France and see what happens when you run out of people to tax. Bashing business and the wealth creators always wins vote but sadly does not pay the bills.

I think there is still a chance of a 'firm' no and this could resolve the issue for a generation. A close vote will see a slow decline for Scotland, as business pulls out gradually in anticipation of another vote in a decade.

I was there and it was a freak of nature - it could only really have happened at The Britannia stadium. Boruc is a top class keeper and I wonder why people are on his case.

I love Scotland and desperately hope for a no vote. Assuming you have an English accent you will discover the implications of real prejudice. Don't show your accent after midnight or your teeth will be distributed over the pavement. What is particularly unpalatable, is that in Scotland it is not sociably unacceptable to bash the English. In fact you will be cheered by many.
