Yup great to see somebody who could played for anybody in the world but chose to stick with us. Good on you Matty you showed us what loyalty means hopefully in he light of what has happened this summer, people might appreciate him more.

It is always a gamble coming to a different league but I think that Koeman will know how to get him scoring goals.

Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
I would make him write a thousand word essay on 'what I thought it meant when I signed a 4 year contract'. I would then make him write an open letter apologising for disrespecting the supporters who have sung his name' I would then make him spend a day with Matt Le Tissier to understand how to conduct yourself as a footballer and understand the concept of loyalty. -
BBC Article - The inside story of the great Southampton sell-off
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Donatello's topic in The Saints
The BBC is supposed to be impartial and if you write something so derogatory about the club they should have given the club an opportunity to respond or at least the author should have balanced the article out with lines like.... 'despite signing a four year contract less than a year before' 'the club had been duped into believing that their efforts to keep Pochettino had been successful only top realise he had been playing them along' 'although a new manager had yet to be appointed and the club thought they should wait' -

I never agreeing with banning but the BBC should have to respond to the criticism of this article. It is absurdly one sided nonsense. -

Crony journalism, written to curry favour with a disenchanted footballer probably in the expectation of a supply of future stories. The story panders to the worst excesses of the modern day player totally ignoring the practical realities of running a football club. I really would not expect it from a BBC journalist. -
In fairness the tweet would pretty much indicate this!

Totally agree. At least there are still people who actually care.

I am more amazed at just how shallow, greedy and unprofessional our players are. As Morgan showed us yesterday, a contract means nothing if a player wants to leave. The board have simply been unable to go against the tide. I did think that RK would be able to put his arm around a few of them and persuade them to stay.

The point is that NC was an employee and was spending 'this lots' money. It was not an either or scenario.

Not in your opinion?

Ii genuinely thought it meant sense that Paul Allen would buy Saints because he could park his boat here

What slightly niggles me is that the deadline for season tickets was earlier this year and then the great sell off began. I continue to give the benefit of the doubt.

Its minimalist like our team

I expect it will be leaked first to Adam Blackmore or that chap from the Beeb

Morgan and Jay to Follow According to Simon Peach
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to brett24's topic in The Saints
Why would Spurs want to pay what we assume is stupid money for a player that has an injury that may mean he could be 75% of the player he was? -
Support for English clubs in the CL
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Personally I find the Champions League thoroughly tedious until the knock out stages and even then it is only the second leg that is interesting. It represents everything that is bad in football; greed, egotistical players and encouraging young football fans to support a team where you have no geographical or cultural link to. It does not even compare to how the FA Cup used to be and yet we let this annual bore that is stretched as far as they can to squeeze more and more money out of it, dilute the value of this contest. The FA Cup is a wonderful spectacle that represents all that is good with English football. -
I can see why he insisted on using an interpreter when he was with us. He looked really uncomfortable as did Brad Friegel next to him. If I was unkind he looks out of his depth. Hardly the new Mourinho they thought they were getting. He is exposed to a whole new level of pressure. Of course I am biased though.

Forever in his gratitude

I think that it is probably more dangerous to splash out on 6 new players and then try to integrate them at once. I think just three players, a striker, a midfielder and a CB should make sure we stay up. Staying up s the sum of my ambitions.

With the exception of the great MLT we are always better off with a striker who scores 15 goals a season than somebody who scores 20. You have a chance of keeping the 15 goal a season player.
