CONFIRMED: Rodriguez ruptures ACL - out for SIX months
igsey replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Front three of Rodriguez -- Pelle -- Tadic will be devastating. I think Koeman is a good enough coach to pick from JRod, Tadic, Mane, Long for the two to support Pelle depending on who we're playing and how the games are going. -

#Meltdown Or has that already been done? -
Called it Good to see Cork in, I don't think we need Big Vic's shielding abilities against Sunderland, better to have Cork's passing and movement. Should be good! 3-0 saints.

My first ever trip to St Mary's! My friend and his mum were horrified when I told them I'd never been to a game so they bought me a ticket and took me with them. Strange experience for me but it was a great day!

I agree with you, but the fact is ebola has been blown out of all proportion by the media. It's 2014's bird flu.
-
I believe in general football fans don't go around kissing strangers, licking their sweat or eating their blood or sh*t, so I'm really not sure how much of a risk ebola spreading would be. It's not an airborne disease, it's spread through contact with bodily fluids.

CB Fry, Alpine, Crab Lungs, Batman et al. go into crazy meltdown mode, the rest of us give up having reasoned discussions with them, and come back again a few months later and laugh at them. So same as this year then.

I'd rather have Cork in for Vic this game I think, he can always be brought on at half time if we need more protection. Long in for Mane too.
-
Fair result, they were the better team. Looking forward to next week.

Nobody's really playing badly, but nobody's having a good game either, least of all the ref. Should be at least 1 yellow per side, and any time Wanyama makes any kind of tackle it's a freekick. I would expect to see a change at HT, either Cork or Long coming on.
-
How much are they paying Falcao?? Going by this game, I'd rather have Rickie Lambert.

Choice quote from the BBC live feed from somebody on text: "Adam, Edinburgh: On this evidence, hard to see how Lovren can be worth £20m. Has made more basic errors in possession today than a top class centre back should in a season."
-
Morgan in for France too.
-
What ever happened to Walker? Is he injured or has everybody just finally realised that he's useless?
-
Doesn't seem to be an issue for Mr Wilshire.
-
Played out of position, too.

I really hope so, he's better than every other English right back, he deserves the recognition. It's also interesting that it's not just us Saints fans that have been calling for him in the squad too; pretty much every BBC article involving the national team with a comments section has Clyne's name in every other comment. He might start to 'do a Morgan' if he doesn't get called up soon... As for last season's English lot, Lallana and Chambers will definitely get in, I expect Rickie will too so he can be thrown on with 5 minutes to go, like in every game he's played since he left us because other managers don't seem to understand him as a footballer. Luke Shaw has now played a game for Man United so he's nailed on.

4th November. Your place or mine?

Can't wait for Real Madrid vs Liverpool. I'm gonna get popcorn and everything.

The new Southampton City gateway has failed its building inspection
igsey replied to mightysaints's topic in The Lounge
I think it looks good, especially in the sunlight, but then I am about half a century younger than most of you dinosaurs Interesting to know why it's not opened yet though, I looked on the uni website and it definitely said it would be open for students this year but was confused why I never saw any lights on inside it. Guess that explains it! -
I would be surprised if we don't see at least one or two bad decisions going their way, seems to be the trend recently for us.

First game I'll get to watch this season, I've been at work for the rest following along on Twitter. Looking forward to it, can see any result being realistic but I reckon 2-2.

Did you see either of those free kicks? Nothing any keeper could do about Sanchez's, and Kranjcar's too would have beaten every keeper in the game had it been an inch or two lower. The positioning of the wall will not make any difference at all; we need to stop giving free kicks away in those positions.
