Free admission to our under 21 match tonight at St Mary's
igsey replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
2-0 victory against a Norwich team with Bassong and Hooper both playing, all of our team was 21 or under. Not too shabby! -

I love the fact that half of our under 21 team could play for the under 18s. -
He's definitely better than Shaw! Get in there!

I've not been to many, but of the ones I have visited, Sorrento in Italy stands out a long way. Stunning place.

Summary: Ronald Koeman's pre-QPR press conference
igsey replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
"In mine opinion" has quickly become my favourite. -
I always thought Lambert was bought to help persuade Lallana to leave - Rickie's was his best mate at Saints by most accounts, and they played so well together, they knew each other's games inside out. £25m for Lallana with another £4m to persuade him to join.

The stream I was watching showed it again at half-time, they reckoned it was moving at 91km/h when it hit the net!

Claire Balding = CB. She posts on here as CB Fry.
-
Wouldn't like to be a QPR player watching us tonight, that's for sure

This stream is very good with English commentary, if anybody was still looking: http://premierspor.com/ch2.html

I'll see you in eleven pages, trousers

What a position to be in with our four CBs - Toby and Gardos both look very handy, Fonte's been outstanding so far and is rightfully our captain, and Yoshida has improved hugely since he joined us, he's gained real confidence in his abilities. Unlike last year where a CB getting injured was a disaster, this year it shouldn't affect us too much at all.
-
He went there thinking he'd get to play in the same role, with the same amount of freedom, that he did here but with better players around him. Brendan Rogers went 'Oh, he's RM in the team of the year! We need one of them!' That was the strength of our front 3 last season - they were fluid, they knew where each other would be and weren't tied to a single position.

Who's the ref?
-
From what he said about both us and Swansea wanting to dominate the midfield and Vic being a controlling midfielder, I'd say he'll be in the starting line up. Wonder who will drop out? I guess Cork or Davis.
-
To put this into some perspective, Ashley Young has a rating of 78.
-
He knew that was going to be the case when he left, he must have decided he'd rather play 10 minutes a week for the team he supports than full games for us, and fair play to him for making that decision. Still, it is sad to see that he's now a permanent fixture in the England squad (because of who he plays for more than his quality) he only gets 5 minutes at the end of each game.

Says it all when Jack Cork plays half the game as a second striker - and does it well! How are Newcastle supposed to prepare for that??
-
I hope you don't make a habit of watching Spanish football then.

I don't think Jay is greedy enough to go to Man City, he knows he'll be fourth choice at best. I think it's more likely he'll go to wherever Pochettino is in January (probably not Spurs, let's be honest).
-
Hopefully Roy will be sacked when we fail to qualify for the Euros.
-
Ox off, Milner on. 'This change should liven the game up' from Townsend. What??
-
I'm still vaguely interested in England, not watching though purely because I'd rather shower with a bear than put up with Chiles, Townsend and Tyldesley. If it was on BBC I'd be watching. I might see how much of the second half I can stomach.

Fox Sport reckon we are losers in the transfer window
igsey replied to Black Sea Saint's topic in The Saints
I would honestly be much more worried if Fox Sports described us as anything else. -
Once he figures out which position he wants to play in, we'll have one heck of a player on our hands who England can ignore until Liverpool/Arsenal/Man United buy him for £25m before he mysteriously becomes good enough for the national team. Seriously though, his set pieces are fantastic, but he always seems to look to slow play down. I think he's got the ability to play as a more attacking midfielder if he gets the right prompts from the management; at the moment he's too cautious.
