    England Squad

Who are those two English lads playing together at Swindon?
  2. Kyle. Walker. I don't know how either. Hope Nat has a nice comfy cushion to sit on.

    England Squad

Just announced, Clyney and Forster are in. No space for Bertrand - apparently there are 3 other LBs that get in ahead of him. Clyne should get used to bench-warming with Walker back.
  4. No no, you've got it all wrong. It should be "Top 5 opposition managers at St Mary's" and so forth. Each question needs its own thread.
  5. First half of Swansea vs Liverpool, 0-0. From BBC Live commentary: "Daniel Sturridge touched the ball 19 times in the opening half. Only Adam Lallana touched it fewer times - 17. Jack Cork got hold of the leather 52 times."
  6. I'm actually ITK on this one. Sam Gallagher is working in a beetroot factory in Liverpool in an attempt to kick-start his footballing career.
  7. Clyne would be my choice - he can smash them from 20 yards, why not 12? He must have watched Rickie practice them enough in training too.

    Toby

Just remember back to a few seasons ago when CB was our weakest position. I'd really rather not go back to that, I'd much rather have problems in attack and four solid CBs as we do now. Keep Toby at all costs please.
  9. Rooney, Sturridge, Kane, Welbeck presumably for Woy. Second highest English goal scorer in the league despite playing for a nearly-relegated team, Charlie Austin? Nah, give us Welbz.
  10. Very impressive so far, especially as one of the commentators pointed out three of the back four are U18 age!
  11. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving bloke!
  12. Because he's confident that we'll find our goalscoring mojo again, presumably.
  13. Koeman's press conference: - Toby close to being back but not for this weekend; should be fit for Tuesday. - JRod and Mayuka also still out. - We played well against Liverpool, deserved more than we got; need to be more effective. - Doesn't think fixture list is easy with teams playing for Europe and to avoid relegation; every game is winnable, every game is loseable. - Still aiming for top four but accepts that other teams have better players and squads. - Mane has served his punishment for being late; he understood and accepted his punishment. - WBA are organised and hard to score against; they don't score or conceede many. - Ball possession is not important; it's what you do with it. - Aware of WBA's set piece quality. - No comments on Brenda's criticism. - Thinks Qatar 2022 is a problem for the PL - terrible dodgy YouTube stream then cut out. (From Twitter henceforth) - We need more sharpness in the box; our goalscoring problems are a team issue, not just one player. - Koeman is not worried about lack of goals and chances. Don't bother going back to watch the video of that press conference - sound quality was awful.
  14. JWP hat-trick. We're due a Clyne thunderbolt too.
  15. Sturridge please! Without him they'll be strikerless once more.
  16. Schneiderlin described as 'fit-again Schneiderlin' on the official Saints twitter.
  17. - Refuses to talk about the response Lallana should get and should be expecting; his job is to focus on our team. Admits Lallana is a good player, had a good opportunity to leave, doesn't hold a personal grudge. - Wants a question about Southampton, not Liverpool! - Encouraging the home fans to support the home team. - Not worrying about losing the game and Liverpool closing in on points; RK is planning on winning this game. - Fed up of questions about Lallana and Lovren - accuses the journalist of being their agent! - Says team may have improved without Lovren - very gentle. - Refusing to answer more questions about the Liverpool players. - Long and Schneiderlin trained as normal today; looking positive for their return to the squad on Sunday. - Rodriguez - 'it's a long way back for him' - needs more time. Still hopeful for his return this season, but will not rush him. JRod is too good to risk damaging him further. - Home form is suffering because teams are coming to play defensive football, not offensively; however he doesn't expect Liverpool to come to be defensive. - Normal for players like Pelle and Tadic to drop in form a bit through the season; however he believes we will create more chances/goals than recently. - Liverpool's style should make it easier for us with more space on the pitch. - We didn't have enough quality against WHam/Swansea to break them down. - Summer strategy was not 'high-risk'. - Rebuilding the team was a 'nice challenge' - used to doing it from his time in Holland, where best players leave most seasons. - Impressed and proud of the academy and the full debuts of out U21 players. - Disappointed at the WHam result - 30 minutes against 10 men means we should have scored. - Pelle has Koeman's confidence and support - Sunday would be a great game for him to score. - Very happy with Harrison Reed - he is a high enough level to play first team football and has shown his quality and energy. He is a part of the future of the club. - We have 18-20 Premier League quality players; beyond that, we are relying on the academy, and that is the philosophy of the club. - Not feeling the pressure of the end of the season; he was always expecting Liverpool/Spurs/Arsenal to be up here at the end of the season. - Liverpool are a different team to the one we played on the opening day of the season; they have changed formation and are a good strong squad with players returning from injury. - Looking forward to a big game on Sunday. - Hoping Toby will be a Southampton player come summer, but Toby needs to feel happy here. Hoping to have an answer in the next month or two. - Toby is out this weekend but should be back for next weekend against West Brom.
  18. Press conference starting imminently:
  19. Lallana just missed an open goal from six yards out. What a shame.
  20. My girlfriend wants Toby too
  21. Only 17 and he's a regular for the U21s. Could be handy one day.
  22. Ramirez 2.0 I believe.
  23. Yep, my last housemate had a pair of Jesters' shoes - £2 from Primark, replaced every month or so. Turns out vomit, urine and unknown beverages is a tough combination to wash out.
  24. Jesters. Trust me. I'm a scientist (student).
  25. Would we still be having this conversation if Fonte's shot had been two inches lower at Loftus Road? JWP is a good player, maybe he needs a bit more confidence and needs to establish himself in the game more. But I haven't forgotten the games he was out and we had zero threat from corners and attacking free kicks. JWP's corners are actually threatening; I'd much rather that than Tadic hitting the first man every time.
