  1. Neat but no end product. It's like the worst bits of the Pochettino era
  2. He's only 25 as well. If he has a good couple of years, his value won't decrease
  3. West Ham in for Mario Gomez. I think they've now bid for anyone who's ever played up front in any professional side
  4. Valdes must've had a terrible week in training
  5. They remind me of Man Utd 2014. Telling the world they have loads of money to spend, at a time when they need to do major squad surgery. The problem is: -Teams will charge them through the nose -They need 5 or 6 first team players, and they come in at around 25/30 million a piece these days -Everyone else has a lot of money, and crucially... - Everton don't have Europe, whilst teams they are competing against for the best players do. It's a vicious circle
  6. Mourinho, Klopp, Mancini and Allegri have all lost the plot with him and driven him out of their club. What makes you think we'd be any different?
  7. Had a look through all the PL transfers thus far, and the following look like potential flops: Janssen (Spurs) Tore (West ham) Valdes (Boro) Phillips (West Brom) Nolito (Man City)
  8. I just don't see how he's going to fit in with Kane. Surely Pochettino won't play both?
  9. Not quite a transfer story but if Allardyce gets the England job, it leaves Sunderland a bit in the lurch. They survived last year only through his organisation and force of personality. H bought in some good players in January but needing to find a new manager with just a few weeks before the season isn't ideal
  10. Let's sell him to Cardiff for 3 million
  11. Mourinho, Zlatan and Mkhitaryan make them title contenders, no doubt. Worth remembering Mkhitaryan was Bundesliga Player's player last year
  12. Any player who has the nickname 'Lion of the Atlas' is ok by me
  13. It needs more though. The city has suffered from chronic underinvestment and a lack of imagination for decades. Just look at how Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Glasgow have turned themselves around recently. It has the potential, green spaces, transit routes and weather to be an amazing city but it's not unfortunately (bar it's football team of course!)
  14. It's pathetic and Benkenstein's words about Wheater were interesting-it's clear there's a horrible feeling in camp. We need a proper gut out-White, Benkenstein have to go at the end of the season along with 5 or 6 senior players. Recruitment has to be reviewed because it's been awful for about 5 years. Give the young players a go and hope to be back in the top tier in a few years
  15. Neat but ineffective. What's changed?
  16. Another 50 today for Alsop. If we can salvage something out of this trainwreck of a season I hope it can be advancing the careers of a few talented youngsters such as him
  17. To be fair, our domestic recruitment over the past few years has been nothing short of fantastic, and we had similar threads when Long and Bertrand were signed. Clearly the black box has found something and with better coaching and team-mates, there's nothing to stop Redmond coming good on his obvious potential.
  18. Finally we start a PL season at home. Those first 5 away!
  19. I know we have injuries but it's hard to be anything but really depressed about our team this year, and especially in t20. The worst thing is the lack of spirit. Having played a lot of cricket, the two immediate symptoms of a bad side are their fielding and running between the wickets, and we looked dreadful at both yesterday. It was noticeable how Kent were haring between the wickets for 2s and 3s and we were ambling ones. Having about 7 players 32+ doesn't help but we look beaten before taking to the field. If you swap in Vince, Carberry, Topley and Edwards it looks like you're getting towards a decent side but years of poor recruitment have left us with a pretty thread bare squad. If Afridi or Sammy don't hit a 25 ball half century, we just won't win many games, and that's before you get to the bowling. Perhaps we're just being greedy having been to six finals in a row but I get the same feeling with Hants as I did with Aston Villa in the Prem last year. Still, I'll be present at the Oval tonight hoping once again but expecting a Roy/Sangakkara schooling.
  20. And now trying to get Rose injured to give Bertrand the starting spot. Legend
  21. At least Fonte's playing well
  22. You can get Bournemouth to go down at 4/1. Seems like a good price considering the end to their season
  23. Inter Monaco Fenerbache (subject to Champions League Play Offs of course)
  24. What a couple of weeks. Beat Tottenham, thrash Man City, finish 6th, Liverpool lose, Pompey lose, West Ham choke, SKD testimonial, VVD, Forster and JWP sign on. Now, just one more wish. C'mon United! (Feel dirty for saying that)
  25. A team full of players who rarely turn up on the big stage. Lallana chief suspect
