Nearly every time Dibling got the ball in the first half, he made something happen. His first touch is fantastic, one of the best I've seen in years, creates himself some much time and space through it. Coupled with his ability to turn on a sixpence, he's a nightmare for defenders when. Receiving the ball back to goal. First time I've seen him play and I can certainly see that he's got something about him. Meghoma again was fantastic. Played like an experienced lb. Stands his man up well, good in the tackle and let very little get past him or into the box - very much like Ashley Cole was. Great at going outside his man, definitely some learning and development for him with decision making going forwards. Think he'll be a top player.

Would love for us to be in a position whereby they can give Dibling 35 mins. He looked a real threat last night and the more game time he gets the better. Same can be said of Meghoma, looked like a proper left back last night but don't think you can just discard Manning at this present time. Need to have a really positive first 45 and make sure we create and take our chances. That way, we should be able to give some key players a short afternoon and a rest before the next game!

Absolutely this! I recall people saying of Schneiderlin when we were in League 1/Championship that they didn't rate him and that he wasn't up to it. However every time we played against Premier League opposition whether that be friendly or cup, he stood out. The style of football played in the championship is very different to the Prem and whilst Alcaraz may not stand out in this team, at this level. I have every confidence that should we go up, he will be a key player next year.

Single handedly the best value for money signing we made after Lambert. Phenomenal servant for the club. Class act. Wish him well. Can see him getting into Management and having a good crack at it.
-
We haven't even got into the championship part of the season. The league will be won in the last 15 games. How far behind us were bloody Reading behind us and West Ham when we went up last time? Bigger gap than 8 points I think!
-
8 points off top spot.
-
Is what it is. They still need to win two games more than us to go above us. We would smash them both.

Please don't put too much pressure on the lad. The step up is massive. Clearly he has the tools to be a good player, but many a youth player has made their debut and looked like a top talent - only to go on and not make it at this level. Let's hope he is able to kick on.

Aribo playing like he's been on the beers and mince pies

Massive opportunity today to stay with the top 3 and cut loose from those behind. Not convinced by Manning at LB at all despite his improved performance last time out and aribo a big call. Need one hell of a performance and no pissing about with the ball. Good to see Stephens back amongst the fold.

That will be him done unfortunately.
-
Manning is a very poor footballer. Very glad Bree seems to have stepped up. Still completely toothless in the final third, unfortunately.
-
Such a boring and predictable "style" of football. Leicester will soon be 20 points clear of us.
-
Why on earth do you take your best player off? Absolute madness. Thrown the game away

Far too sensible a line up. Mad Russ won't play anything of the sort. Quite clearly that team should beat 95% of teams at this level and the fact Martin won't pick our strongest 11 is quite frankly baffling. Maybe it's the fluoride in the water sending him doolally.
-
Martin has to go. This style of football will not get us promoted

Shocking line up from the off cost us today. I fear that with all the options available, RM won't be able to consistently pick the best team. Quite clearly there are shoe ins each week... KWP, Bednarek, THB (based on previous experience), Charles, Downers, Alcatraz, Fraser, Adams. That spine week in week out should be more than enough to get us out of the division. My biggest concern is at LB it's such an obvious weak spot along with Bazunu in goal.

Very quickly we need some grit and league knowhow. When we came up we were fortunate to have the likes of schneiderlin, lallana, etc... Bit that was supplemented with Fonte, Hammond, Lambert and Connolly amongst others. Quite clearly we have some decent kids, but someone needs to be on the pitch to show them the way.
-
People really need to curb their expectations of this lad. The step from youth/reserve football is absolutely massive and we shouldn't be placing so much expectation on him. Hopefully he's more Theo Walcott/Gareth Bale in his breakthrough, rather than Matthew Patterson...

Can't wait for these random names to come out the woodwork again. Give me a Lucien Mettomo over a known entity any day of the week.

When we hired Adkins, I had a great feel about the appointment. It just felt right. This one, if we press ahead, doesn't. More than happy to be proven wrong but this feels more like the Puel appointment to me. Will probably be steady, but steady isn't good enough for our current position.

Shows how poor the premier League actually is now. Nothing to do with competitiveness. The teams in the bottom half, just aren't that good!

I'm not quite sure where the club goes from here. What a mess!
