  1. And he's on about £60k per week.
  2. Brilliant ... come on Ronnie get stuck in. Hopefully next week will see plenty of good news coming our way for a change.

  4. Some skeleton: Boruc Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Targett Ramirez, Davis, Wanyama, Cork, JWP Osvaldo / JRod You also seem to have ignored the fact that new players will be joining, Kolodziejczak at left back, Tadic in midfield, a new CB and a couple of goalscorers and we have a very decent premier league team. It's certainly different to last year's, but certainly not the doom and gloom that you suggest.
  5. Here's an excerpt from another independent article I've just read: "Positive Again I am a big fan of both Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana, but to be honest their*transfer*fees have been inflated because they are English players. Foreign players of the same standard would not cost the same fees. If Southampton were going to sell their players then it is good that they have received so much money for them. Southampton has a strong academy that seems to continually churn out players and that will probably keep doing so. The likes of Calum Chambers, James Ward-Prowse and Sam Gallagher were examples of young players from the Saints academy featuring for the Saints last season. This sounds strange, but Southampton could even emerge from this summer stronger than last season. They will have a boss who is hungry for success and players who want to play for the club. Who knows the sales of talented, but overpriced stars like Shaw and Lallana could be a positive for the Saints. Let’s hope so anyway."
  6. And because Ronnie has been holed up in a nunnery for the past week and doesn't start work at St Marys until next week.
  7. Looks good to me... I'm particularly hopeful that we'll sign Kolojackiwhatsit Also, Tadic looks like an exciting player and for me, Hernandez up front with Pelle would be superb.
  8. Fair 'nuff
  9. Got to agree though. Lukaku runs hot and cold. Sometimes he's brilliant sometimes he's completely hopeless. I'd be disappointed if he was a marquee signing.
  10. Well there you are then.. You clearly don't know much about him as he scored 23 goals in 28 games for Feyenoord last season. If you judge strikers based on their goal scoring ability it sounds like he's a shoe in.
  11. Of course you're allowed an opinion but it might be nice to know who you think this perfect player is that you think we should be signing. We're talking about a proven goalscorer here that has played under our new manager. I'm not sure what further endorsement of him you want. Unfortunately we're not going to be buying proven premier league goalscorers so Pelle seems like a good bet to me. Not really sure what more you want.
  12. And another one. I can just imagine your posts if no money was being spent.
  13. ****s sake... Who do you think we're going to be buying, ****ing Messi. Pelle looks like a very decent replacement for Lambert. Koeman knows him and has worked with him before, he's a proven goalscorer and several years younger than the player he's replacing. What's the problem here. It seems that people just want to complain about anything.
  14. Yawn - Koeman Player Sales thread mk2
  15. So only current strikers from other PL clubs are OK for us then? As far as I recall, Lambert and Jrod were unproven in the PL before we got promoted. It's not necessarily about blowing loads of cash on 'proven' PL players (such as when Chelsea bought that proven PL goalscorer from Liverpool - Torres) it's about finding talent wherever they are and for me, Ings seems like a sensible buy for Koeman to improve and get the best out of.
  16. This. I think we're incredibly fortunate that we have KL as an owner. Have you not looked at some of the other clubs owners? They're madder than a barrel full of monkeys most of them. Just look up the road to Reading as an example.
  17. Don't forget that Guan hinted at >£10m signings joining us too so I would think Ings would be one of three or four (when jrod returns) strikers. As long as Bentner isn't one of them.
  18. Ridiculous. Of course he knew.
  19. OK, I've had chance to sleep on this and here's my team for next season: Boruc Clyne/Chambers Fonte Lovren (New CB) Kolodziejczak Davis Wanyama Cork Tadic Pelle/Ings Hernandez/Rodriguez Doesn't look too bad to be honest. Grab another CM for depth and that should see us through to January when we can build again. Maybe even keep Schneiderlein until January before replacing him. Yes, it'll take a while for the new players to gell but looking at the PL that team should be enough to see us through.
  20. ... He could have told the directors that he loves it at saints and wants to end his career here as team captain of course .. but that's about as likely as us increasing season ticket sales this year.
  21. Got to agree with this really. If we assume Lovrens off too then we need 5 players just to replace the leavers never mind the much needed increase in depth. IMHO you can't just integrate that many players into your starting 11 in just a few weeks and hope to finish in the top half. My optimism after the appointment of Koeman is seriously waning and it looks like we'll have to accept that next year will be a year of consolidation and hope we can progress again the following year. ********.
  22. FFS I was at least hoping Schneiderlein would stay out of all the rumoured leavers.
  23. Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana set to complete £25m move to #lfc. Talks now at advanced stage, could even be completed today. — John Percy (@John__Percy) June 27, 2014
  24. Did he get off the plane in Manchester too, or did they divert to John Lennon International to drop him and Lambert off?
  25. Check out @SimonPeach's Tweet: Does this mean the next transfer out is about to hit the news?
