10 months on..... Should we still be waiting?
-
I think Kat lost interest before the inheritance and that lack of TLC probably hasn't helped things. Hoping "Nelly" will relight our fire with some inspirational Instagram posts and a few more large overseas loans.

TBF this thread was started after one of our best seasons ever and before our dull season under Puel + this season - perhaps the OP had a premonition!? For me its not been just about results - its probably more a realization that the season under Koeman was about as good as it gets for us. Occasionally being "best of the rest" and occasionally getting to finish above one of the top 6. Perhaps after a few years of highs it was the daunting reality that we are no different or better than clubs like Stoke, WBA, WHU and Swansea. Here in the EPL to make up the fixtures. Here to simply trial players and coaches for the top 6 to take at will (or watch players take a hissy and strike) The biggest cheers from Saints fans these days is when Liverpool draw or Everton, Spurs or Portsmouth lose - spitting venom at our past players and managers that have moved onto bigger clubs. Is that really life as a Saints fan these days? The money is grotesque the players now completely repulsive and distant from fans - football and SFC is now simply just a business more than ever.

Ever been to see a live game at Wembley or Twickenham? I still enjoy watching it.

These international breaks don't help

Only chance we have is the new owners..... Under Kat / Les zero chance. But new owner might have some legitimate ambitions Still think he'd go to one of the top 7 before us
-
I agree let it go.... This was years ago
-
Would be great if the top 6 did leave for the Elite league.... Would give us a chance of actually winning something. It you look at our recent results (excluding games against top 6) our record is v.good P16 W6 D4 L6 Assuming you keep the league at 20 and we continue the impressive points return we could get 52 points in a season and potentially finish 7th.

How many wanted MP in the first place?

Koeman probably has as much influence on transfers as Pellegrino and Puel before him. The ultimate authority on all football club matters no longer sits with the first team manager and hasn't done for a number of years. Steve Walsh is responsible for player recruitment at Everton, much like Ross Wilson is at SFC. Its a bit like blaming a builder for not completing the build of an extension when the house owner sourced materials and failed to get all items on the builders shopping list. In some sports its now more common for under performing teams to sack the GM before they sacked the coach. Koeman like Pellegrino has been let down by the recruitment team.

Long 6 Mane 6 Pelle 3 Tadic 2 Ward-Prowse 2 Martina Fonte Yoshida VVD Wanyama Bertrand Davis Romeu Interesting in Koemans last 5 games Tadic contributed 2 goals and 7 assists which is more than he has in the last 45 games

We do still have passionate and ambitious fans.... They are just discouraged from posting on here. Passion and ambition on here = trolling
-
Is Pellegrino on the same wages as Puel was? Reported 3.2m a year i think?
-
Nah its BS. Its purely just coincidence that Puel n Pellegrino have binned their football philosophies and game style after joining us. Coincidence only.
-
Koeman got more out of the squad. Tadic and Long were both decent under Koeman Long bagged 15 or something goals in Koemans last season with us
-
Jealous? See posts 3 and 23. I predicted Everton would struggle in the league this season. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?58511-The-Battle-For-Seventh&highlight=Seventh#.WdEEVZ_TXqA

Us Saints fans need something (anything) to enjoy right now.... Everton look to be the mini distraction from our glass house that we need. Thank you Ronald......
-
What has happened? Just 1 goal in the last 16 appearances. Looks a shadow of the player that arrived from Napoli. Did Puel fully break him or is there still potential to salvage something here? Another Saganowski perhaps

Kick in the balls or a headbutt. Puel or Pellegrino

Momentum curve made Reed look the "bestest" for a short while, but he's been on his own for a while now and showing exactly why he's been in football 50+ years and won absolutely nothing. His level.... assistant manager on a voluntary basis at Bishop's Stortford FC in the Conference South. Keep Reed and the decline will continue

Incredible how quiet this place is after a defeat. We'd be on 12 pages by now if we'd won
