  1. Pellegrino - no thanks Jokanovic.... Err go on then. http://outsideoftheboot.com/2017/05/13/tactical-philosophy-slavisa-jokanovic/
  2. We were more attractive last summer (finished 6th and Europe) and the list of candidates was stronger last summer. Reed will never be able to convince the likes of Tuchel. Just seems daft to pay out 6m to Puel and his team only to appoint a similar calibre manager.
  3. Puels name was out there weeks before his appointment. We like to pride ourselves on secrecy (for some reason) but we aren't great at it.
  4. Can only imagine his training or behaviors were not right? Otherwise cant understand why he was dropped after good performances and only given 3x full 90 minutes all season?
  5. I’m the same - watching with a twinge of envy for sure. Just hope they fail to replace Lukaku adequately and suffer hugely like we did with the volume of games and long season. We had a huge opportunity to cement our top 7 credentials last summer, but we seemingly took a seasons nap while Everton added youth and experience.
  6. Yep I think we will be talking about the top 7 and "the rest" v.soon, they were strides ahead of us and all teams 8-20th last season and are showing the ambition that Koeman wanted/hoped for here. Crazy to think just 12 months ago we finished 16 points and 6 places above them - that's what complacency does.
  7. I think that's the exact point people are making. We will struggle to hold onto managers as eventually they want some control on things (ala Puel and Koeman) Hence 3 managers in 3 years under Leslie
  8. I don't want to get involved in yours a Larrys discussion, but Reed sacking Puel as he said no (or refused to change his style - as reported) would seem to back up the suggestion that Reed wants a YES man?
  9. Lots of players smoke - Adrian Mutu used to smoke menthals
  10. This. Lost Mopo (fast) fell out with Koeman, sacked Puel (3 down in 1,100 days) The era of the gaffer is over (according to Les) he just wants a coach to train the players he signs and plays the style he ("the club") chooses. That definitely limits our hiring pool and ability to keep managers IMHO http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/11366206/Gary-Neville-The-era-of-the-gaffer-is-over.html
  11. Leslie welcomes the new gaffer
  12. They won't get 100m for Lukaku. He has 2 years left on his contract ala Mane. We got 30-35m for Mane.
  13. Two decent signings. That 7-17th spot is getting competitive
  14. Im sure like the fans he had some support. If the dislike was universal he'd have left months ago. Problem for Puel it was something like 70/30 in the end (fans) and players were potentially 50/50
  15. For example?
  16. D:Ream team "things can only get better"
  17. Eddie would be a fantastic appointment IMHO. Unsure we'd convince him now as wouldn't be a huge step up anymore. Tuchel would, could be great.
  18. Alanis and Craig David dream team, with Eric Black as assistant (to the) manager
  19. Winner saint is happy to lose... Alanis Morissette
  20. Suspect it will be Pellegrino. Seems a very Les Reed type appointment. Little underwhelming tbh, but will get fully behind him and keep fingers crossed
  21. fake news
  22. Negativity is your oxygen on here - without it you'd be on 2 posts not 10,052
  23. 6 days ago - Hoffenheim have extended the contract of their head coach Julian Nagelsmann until 2021
  24. DON'T PANIC!!! I'm sure Leslie is in control of this :? :?
