TBF you had his cards marked very early doors - for some reason talent spotting (or lack of) on here is frowned upon rather than embraced. You should now be the go-to guy for players and manager reviews but of course those wrong about Puel will still insist they know best. Keep up the good work mate

7th (Everton) are adding nicely to the squad and have a decent manager in Koeman, likewise AFCB (9th) have added nicely but might struggle to keep there better players. Everton will struggle to juggle Europa + league and I fully expect them to be circa 20 points below last season giving us a real opportunity to take back 7th.

Im reliably told that Ake is costing £10m with multiple add ons. Defoe is getting £1.5m sign on and 45k a week. Add those two to Asmir Begović and they've had a decent summer so far (on paper) Be interesting to see if they can somehow keep hold of there better players.... This! We saw from the latest financials that we receive way way way less than the 'reported' figures. The fact we have sold the likes of Mane, Pelle, Wanyama, Fonte, Morgan, Clyne, Shaw, Lallana, Lovren, Chambers and replaced with the likes of Forster, Clasie, Hojberg, Pied, Boufal, Tadic, Long and Redmond and its (reportedly) cost us money is all the evidence you need that selling your best players to league rivals is not a long term strategy or sensible.

Tbf i rarely write off players or managers early on and im hoping both Boufal and Hojberg prove me wrong. In fact my only early write offs were Ramirez and Puel (& Black) so maybe i do have a skill for talent spotting.

Why are we still so obsessed with penny pinching? We have sold players for 230m last 3 summers and received 150m from the premiership for last season alone. If we are serious about our ambitions we need to start spending some money. Buy cheap buy twice!!!
