FAO: Season icket Holders NOT going to the final
Heisenberg replied to waynesfc88's topic in The Saints
I agree. hate, hate, hate the sky super Sundays when Neville and Jamie watch a game (Burnley v WHU for example) from the Man City stadium and then say join us after the break and we will discuss the game. Im like NO!!! You *****s weren't at the game.... You know nothing. Take your replays, your slow mos your 35-50 cameras, that stupid new "spidercam" the only view I'm interested in is from a man at the Turf moor. And not a fan that missed the first 6 minutes as he was just finishing his pint or the fat chap that went for a pie on 38 minutes or the tourist that left after 81 minutes to beat the traffic...a real fan -
Another £2m!! http://dailym.ai/2kXhCfv

Isnt Bertrand only 5 feet 9? Quite short for a CB?

I think the writing has been on the wall a while - sure we've had a couple of decent last seasons, but how much of that was due to momentum? You take control of a club that's been promoted from league 1 > won a trophy > promoted from the championship > finished 14th > finished 8th - this club has been on the up and up and up since 2009-2014 and during that time Les was behind the scenes as head of football development. Momentum is basic physics. Under Cortese we were proactive not reactive - sacked Pardew, sacked Nigel. Under Les we lose Mopo to Spurs lose Koeman to Everton we appoint Puel and Eric f'ing Black!? Under Cortese we lost AOC and errrr Puncheon? Under Reed we've lost Shaw, Lallana, Lovren, Chambers, Lambert, Morgan, Clyne, Mane, Pelle, Big Vic and Fonte (VVD will likely leave this summer) in his time he's sold players and lost managers bringing in £230 MILLION! See the below momentum curve - we have fallen head first into the complacency trap. We have quickly lost momentum built up from 2009 and are heading only one way now under Les Reed. Les was assistant manager on a voluntary basis at Bishop's Stortford FC in the Conference South before we appointed him to watch over development. He was a laughing stock in football, a joke - yet Kat decided he was the man for the BIG job!? The man to take care of "everything to do with football at the club"

Probably can't blame him. Modesty is overrated

Hope Betrand looks half decent at CB, that way we wont need any new CBs this summer 2017/18 season - CBs: Bertrand, Yoshida, Stephens, Gardos, Jones LBs: McQueen and Targett

We won't see VVD in a Saints shirt again...
Heisenberg replied to saint lard's topic in The Muppet Show
Likely?? He's gone - Les will have 2 or 3 buyers and price already agreed. Was probably busy wining n dining his BFFs from the Top 7 before he made his last minute loan bid for Jordi Amat -
Transfer Deadline Day Jan 2017 Edition
Heisenberg replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Are we starting to see a few excuses dripped out to the media by Big Les or are these just musings people are seeing on twitter and Facebook. It was a slightly foolish time for Les to remind everyone of his previous nicknames (les miserables, Santa Clueless) Also liked the end of the Jeremy Cross interview Reed embodies the old adage ‘fail to prepare then prepare to fail -
Some people obsess about history and strongly believe the past dictates the future. The club (Reed) also speaks about this... Its always the Top 6 and we can be best of the rest chat from him. It's holding us back Thats why i liked Nicola Cortese so much, he didnt respect the football hierarchy and was not going to accept making up the numbers. You dont need a bright past to have a very bright furture - look at RB Leipzig for example. We have as much right as anyone and the content crew need to get on board the bus of potential.

What is the difference between reactive and proactive? A proactive approach focuses on eliminating problems before they have a chance to appear and a reactive approach is based on responding to events after they have happened. The difference between these two approaches is the perspective each one provides in assessing actions and events.

You give me the fear everytime you post your "we'll beat them easy" Didnt you do that before Palace, WBA, Burnley, Hull, HBS and Prague?
-
You're the DOF... what would you do? Season 2017/18
Heisenberg replied to Crab Lungs's topic in The Saints
Id have a big clear out - we are fantastic at selling decent players and managers to the top 7 but equally efficient at holding onto very average players GKs Forster McCarthy Taylor Defenders Gardos Yoshida Pied Stephens Targett Soares Martina Midfielders Clasie Ward-Prowse Höjbjerg Reed Isgrove Forwards Tadic Redmond Rodríguez Long Could give all the above a transfer, start buying some actual quality and spending some of the huge revenue we recieve each year. Puel obviously must go, would get in Laurent Blanc -
Youre brainwashed mate What prem clubs are unstable? Hull maybe

Transfer Deadline Day Jan 2017 Edition
Heisenberg replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Its these small details that insult the fans. We are asked to pay £55-60 for a shirt and fortunes on travel and tickets and the club will jusy fly a footballer 1st class no doubt without even having a brief chat on the phone first? Flight probably cost us £5k or approximately 100 replica shirts. Think we'd be horrified if we saw the types of money being wasted at this club (every club) We like to mock WHU for there transfer dealings but the more i see and hear about ours it seems proper amateur hour. Perhaps Les needs to deligate more? He quotes his "im in charge of EVERYTHING" mantra at every opportunity -
Dont forget the next generation of fans. What appeal do we have to kids aged 4-10 just picking a team for life? Unless your dad is pushing Saints why would you support us? Mid table, boring football, sell favourite players each summer..... The sell, sell, sell approach has long and short term implications. Doubt Kat will be here in 10-20 years though so why should she care?
-
At the time ML passed there was talk of an investment fund being left to the club/ Cortese I do recall Nic saying at the time "Markus' family are fully supportive of Saints and in fulfilling Markus' legacy." Im not sure 6-17th was ever MLs legacy? but we will never know and only Kat has to answer to that.

I caught the end of this last night on Sky sports - think Jeff Stelling was saying either that the club had betrayed fans trust or that the club were refunding fans that went or both? Anyone else catch it? Was on around 7 last night, MLT was asked to comment.

Good post mate, some v.good observations too.
-
Yes good post Sifter. Only problem is that if our business model really does rely on us selling players for 20-30m each year then we are not sustainable. We are fast running out of these types of players. PLUS you need to consider that its not like 1995 anymore, clubs dont need to sell constantly to survive. Other income is far higher than it was and we could use some of the huge other revenue we receive to pay wages? If everything revolves around transfers what do we do with the other £150-200 million we recieve each season? How have Palace (for example) spend millions in the summer and again this January? They aren't selling 3-4 of there best players each year. They have a smaller stadium, smaller income in all areas. How do they manage while we cant?
-
Post 100 very sensible as always - and 251
-
I agree mate - we breed success we dont buy it. Stephens has looked very good since he broke ito the first team (Ignore last night and Arsenal 5-0) Sakho has played 150x for PSG, 50+ games for Lverpool and every level of the French national team. If palace want to waste money on him - more fool them

We dont know Reeds full objective list, but we do hear about his ambitions from time to time. If you just look at what he's told us last few years he's failed on so many levels - The squad is weak now, possibly weaker than in 2013 - The manager is weaker, for me probably the worst manager since Jan Poortvliet - Eric Black WTF - Failed to keep Pochettino - Failed to keep Koeman - Failed to keep hold of top players - Failed with his own champions league ambition - Failed so far to fill his new trophy cabinet - Summer transfer failed - Jan transfer failed - Now failing with his revised target of 6th - 9th each season Reed was a failed manager a failed player and for me he is now failing us as Executive Director. Less than 10 years ago Reed was assistant manager on a voluntary basis at Bishop's Stortford FC in the Conference South - he came here as Head of Football Development and was somehow fast tracked to Executive Director?

Bank Balance UP Squad quality DOWN Reed is doing a great job (for Kat)
