Oh ffs

Id give Jay 25 minutes

Limited changes (3) for us today - positive steps Stick a decent swing on this one and we should come away with a nice win Bookies have us clear favourites, just hope Puel gets his tactics right today. COYS

Wish our government would stop giving cash to medicine and health care and unemployment and pump the cash into the premier league instead Will look carefully at party policies next time
-
Its a government lead vision and will be interesting to watch it all unfold... Nice to see teams, BIG teams like Chelsea and Arsenal being unsettled like this TBH. Welcome to our world Will probably lead to the European super league as BIG teams simply wont just bend over and accept defeat without a fight.
-
You're probably right mate. But ive looked at other clubs (team in the champions league) and even Man United (still in europe and EFL) and even with their stronger squads they dont swap players game to game like we do. Guess we will see if it slows down in Feb or March when we have less games.
-
Be quite interesting to see how this unfolds There has and always will be a pecking order in football (levels/hierarchy) and footballers will make noises about ambition and champions league and for some that's important. But I would almost guarantee that the biggest reason to sign for any club is wages. Now that these Chinese clubs are willing to pay £32 million a season (Tevez) youre likely to see a large exodus of players to china next 12-24 months Will probably encourage the formation of a European super league and we will be left to fight for the premier league with WBA and Burnley..... Not sure that excites me.

Four Four Two reveal the most creative teams so far this season
Heisenberg replied to baggytrousers's topic in The Saints
Saw somewhere that we average 4 shots on target per game (League) and this surprised me as I recall 0 vs. Liverpool, 1 vs. Spurs, 0 vs. Chelsea and 1 against Palace Then I saw we had 17 against Burnley and 14 against WHU, so the average is about right but doesn’t really give a true reflection of us over 20 league games No doubting we have looked good and attacked well at times (Burnley, WHU, AFCB) but we also have far too many games where we struggle to get 2 shots on target all game. -
For comparison I just checked out our last 9 games from last season when our form was excellent P9 W7 D1 L1 It was the latter part of the season and thought players would be tired come May, especially without excessive rotation during season..... Changes Stoke to Liverpool 1 Liverpool to Leicester 3 Leicester to Newcastle 2 Newcastle to Everton 0 Everton to Villa 4 Villa to Man C 2 Man C to Spurs 0 Spurs to Palace 1
-
The whole excessive rotation chat has really been hammered (on here) and I think most are now accepting it seems OTT. Genuinely thought it might slow down once we went out of Europe but so far very little to suggest Puel is looking for a settled side. Changes per game - HBS to Boro 8 Boro to Stoke 4 Stoke to AFCB 6 AFCB to Spurs 5 Spurs to WBA 6 WBA to Everton 6 Everton to Norwich 8 Norwich to Liverpool 7

Perhaps not worded correctly - easy to forget a few seem to lack any sense of humor and take forums very serious The point is still the same however - we could buy a player now for say £15m while we need them (Austin out and Longs form lack of goals generally) or we could wait till the summer and possibly save a million or two? I can’t think of many examples where a player would be more expensive now than the summer? Unless you’re talking about players with less time on contracts? And as for Jan signings being typically bad - I can’t see much evidence of that either....Obviously some January moves work out and some don't, but the same can be said for summer moves too Decent January signings are possible - we’ve proved that with Austin and Everton now with Morgan. Would Morgan have been cheaper in the summer? I doubt it
-
I actually agree, would hate the club to spend £15m on a striker now if we could possibly get him for £13.5m in the summer Let Everton make the panic buys
-
"Best of the rest" will soon mean 8th as Everton dont seem have us much respect for the top 6 clubs as we do, suspect they will break away from us over the next 12-24 months Fair play to them, great signing and adding talented youth (Lookman) also looks smart.
-
Kat, Markus, Les and Nic C have helped build some solid foundations - now perhaps the time is right to pass the next stage to someone with grand designs?
-
He has to take confidence from tonight even though he did miss a few. Took his goal well - his 1st goal in 15 games?
-
Keep the same team - simples Team needs to play a few games together
-
First 20 terrible but then 70 minutes of decent football Liverpool won't play that badly again will be tough to see this out - but we have some hope now
-
Could be a long 20 minutes.....
-
Please please please don't let that rat lallana score Just had a vision of him running to daddy Klopp
-
Good half lads (score wise at least) Liverpool are not at it yet - need to press more, take advantage
-
We need 4 more goals
-
Let's go for throats now:.... DO NOT sit back and try and win this 1-0 Come on saints
-
Lol goaalllll
-
Please tell me this isn't the new "Southampton way" Absolutely horrendous playing style, horrid to watch Liverpool goal pending
-
Playing like the away team, sitting mega deep and inviting pressure..... Bad idea Best way to defend is ATTACK against Liverpool
