  1. Closer to bottom 3 (9) than top 6 (15)
  2. WTF!! They are in the league cup semi final FFS one league win in 16 though
  3. Yeah id take Brendan Rodgers over Puel, not simply because hes done well at Celtic but because his record as a manager is better than Puels and his style of play much better. Premier league experience too
  4. Almost identical win % as Puel this season. De Boer (36%) Puel (37%) But career wise De Boers win percentage is much better than Puels.... 60% vs 42% 6 years of management and De Boer has also won 4 consecutive league titles, cups and manager of year awards. Puel has won zilch in over 15 years
  5. Norwich will go weak I suspect - we will have a mixture. Both teams have very poor form - think we should and will win this. Might inspire a mini bounce with any luck
  6. Modern players are super fit, they can and want to be playing regularly From the horses mouth = http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/12/06/jose-fonte-reveals-frustration-claude-puels-southampton-rotation/
  7. I did make my mind up about Puel fairly early on you're right - I wasn't hugely impressed with his CV and felt there were better candidates available for us. I blame Reed for his appointment (and Eric Black). I had hoped he (Puel and Black) would prove me wrong, but alas they haven't..... My issues with Puel is not that he doesn't have us in the top 6 - in fact I acknowledged that the top 6 was not achievable with our current squad http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57444-Winning-quot-OUR-quot-league#.WGuGI5Krxok The issues I have are - - His rotation policy - http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57469-Puel-the-Tinkerman-it-s-not-working#.WGuG05Krxok - Our lack of goals and attacking limitations Puel offers us tactically - http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57606-10-goals-in-the-last-14-games#.WGuG_JKrxok - Our horrendous playing style and appalling performances this season - http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57568-Worst-performance-so-far-(under-Puel)#.WGuHGJKrxok - The fact so many players are under performing this season - http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57427-What-s-gone-wrong#.WGuHV5Krxok - His obsession with Redmond - His delivery at pre/post matches - Our exit from Europe and our performances in Europe - All of the above in spite of having one of the most expensive squads in Europe
  8. If we wanted to buy 2 players at £20/30m we could - we dont need to sell VVD (our best player) first? How about using some of the 100-150m we recieve each year just for being in the premier league? Perhaps use some of the money we received from being in Europe this season? Or we could spend some of the £230m we've received in transfer fees over the last 3 summers?
  9. You dont give a toss about Saints performances?
  10. Voted out: Yes we have a worse squad than last year - thanks Kat n Reed But he still has a squad that cost £160m (Burnley £50m, Bournemouth £75m) and includes 15+ internationals Yes weve played more games than last season (3 at this stage) But no excuse for the uterlly painful football Puel is serving up each week. His "football" style is all wrong and his rotation policy is excessive and simply not working. He could change and probably needs to ASAP if he wants to save his job.
  11. You make it sound like we are being given a unique opportunity to showcase the world's top footballing talent and we should be eternally grateful - we are not and I'm not. We are doing nothing particularly different to any team our size. Buying players from smaller clubs/leagues.... the difference between us and say Stoke or Everton is we then sell again at the first opportunity. We are financially not honours obsessed. Our managers/players are not moving to Europes elite clubs (Real, Barca, Bayern, PSG) we sell to Liverpool and Everton and Spurs our closest league rivals Wanyama for example isnt world class - hes just a decent premier league midfielder and wanted a payrise and chance to win a medal or two in his career. He didnt want 250k a week, no he signed for Spurs on 70k a week a reasonable wage in our league now - same as clubs like Middlesbrough and Palace and WBA pay. If you simply bend over as soon as super clubs like Spurs and Liverpool come calling how do you ever close the gap and become the new Liverpool or mighty spurs?
  12. Can probably close this now - going to be easier just to keep a log of any decent performances.
  13. No passion allowed
  14. The stories of Puel and his wife feeling lonely and now this. Genuinely feel sorry for him tonight. Nice guy just in way over his head a club refresh top to bottom might be quite healthy tbh
  15. Shame we can't rotate Puel the tinkerman Things however can only get better (surely) and the next 6-7 league games are winnable He will get to the summer regardless so we probably just need to accept we will win some loss alot and play crap "football" until then Never know he might surprise us against Liverpool
  16. Oh wow. Puel may resign i think - will perhaps acknowledge that this job was too big or that we are just not the right match (it happens) If stories about his wife being lonely/home sick are true then maybe now is right time for all parties - no hard feelings, you did your best it hasnt worked - best wishes for the future.
  17. Unfortunately i have no faith in Reed or Kat to react or respond in anyway. We will "march on" and hope things improve. Absolutely dire
  18. Pellegrini is currently the head coach of Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune Probably being paid £100m a week now
  19. Should have got Eddie Howe in the summer when we had a chance. We were in Europe and had just finished 8,7,6th we were very appealing to top managers Now we are almost on par with Bournemouth and he will see us as a sideways not upward step He will end up and Arsenal now imho - chance has possibly past
  20. Think youve got me confused with someone else mate? was a fairly big fan of Koeman even during his poor spell i saw the potential in the play style and effort. Similar with Pelle i rated him quite highly Have a look around see if you can find and share some posts to backup your BS Happy new year mate. Anyway questions for Les?
  21. Happy new year mate
  22. Corrected it for you mate - photo not photos. 2 i took and one from the website as I acknowledged at the time Jealous much?
  23. Comparisons to last season will dry up very soon Think we were W12 D3 L3 after week 20 - zero chance we will match that under Puel
