  1. Merry Christmas you filthy animals
  2. One clean sheet ALL season One win in twelve......
  3. Current premier league winners wanted Deeney - Watford turn down £25m https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/leicester-city-transfer-news-watford-turn-down-25m-for-troy-deeney-as-luis-hernandez-signs-on-four-a7094841.html%3Famp?client=ms-android-samsung Watford declined and signed Deeney to a new contract http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11686/10330724/troy-deeney-signs-new-five-year-contract-to-stay-at-watford
  4. They won the FA cup in 2008 and the Wembley pitch was flat
  5. We finished 10th, 11th, 8th and 12th before dropping out of league for financial reasons We finished 8th and had a cup final before it went pete tong financially Spurs have forced there way into top 6 last 7-8 years before that they didnt have a top 6 finish for 15 years We keep being invited to join the top 6 but so far keep declining and instead sell them our best players
  6. We could learn alot from Spurs, they are managing to build a huge new stadium, keep top players without paying crazy wages and are now considered a genuine top 6 side. When they do sell they typically sell abroad rather than to rivals and if they need to generate funds for incoming players they get top dollar for fringe players - they got £40m this summer for Mason, Chadli, Pritchard and Yedlin
  7. I remember when days off was a bad thing and playing regularly kept players sharp Now poor players are absolutely exhausted after playing football for 90 minutes
  8. Modric - 2012 Bale - 2013 Sheringham - 1997 Rooney - 2004 Lescot - 2009 ALOT has changed in the last few years. Clubs receiving 120-200 million from TV ((per season)) for a start. We DONT have to sell players EVERY year anymore to "improve the whole club" crazy as it sounds but we get millions from TV, gates, commercial income. Some fans seem to think the only source of income is player sales Plus buying > developing > selling is all good if it worked 100% oif the time. It doesnt - see post 4 http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57569-Saints-recruitment-success-a-myth&highlight=myth
  9. So how do Spurs keep top players happy and only sell 1 top players every 2-3 years? How have Everton kept players over the years? How have Leicester kept Vardy/Mahrez/Schmeichel? How have Watford kept Deeny and Ighalo happy? WHU and Payet? Its too easy to say we MUST sell or players will sulk or strike....... there are very few examples of this.
  10. Would be great to laugh and instantly dismiss these things - but the reality is EVERYTHING IS FOR SALE at this club and the club appears to have little appetite in holding onto good players. This club is run as a business and the priorities are £ profit way way above success - sad for us fans but true
  11. Because he signed a new contract? VVD just signed a new contract?
  12. Everton would take him - Koeman knew how to play to his strengthens Not sure he will be prolific ever but under Puels style he will struggle to score many - not a match imho
  13. 19th Dec last season we played Spurs - that was our 23rd game of the season We have played 26 so far this season
  14. I wouldn't say it's a harder league this year? 24 points at this stage last season and we would be 10th. Top 5 are stronger but the mid and lower end are weaker imho As for far more games - it's 3! 3 more games (270 minutes) more than this time last season
  15. The club is clever with its manipulation and it's a shame how many players leave here on a sour note 3 sides to every story but on here the clubs side is always correct
  16. Koeman started last season terribly and was 2 games from being sacked? Yet starting very similar shows us all how great Puel is? 2016/17 P17 W6 D6 L5 2015/16 P17 W5 D6 L6 Koeman was almost sacked for his start yet Puels start is celebrated?
  17. What line? The line for us this season was Europa and we are out already. League Cup final would be absolutely brilliant but do we need a new striker to beat what is hopefully a weaken Liverpool side over 2 legs? The league is predictable this year, we will finish somewhere between 7-14th. We will have good days like yesterday, bad days like Palace and horrible days like Hull, but we won't challenge for top 6 and we won't get relegated This season was about the cups - we have a great chance but not sure we'd buy a new striker just for it? If we were still in Europa I think we would splash cash, but unless we are buying ready for next season no real point imho We bought Austin last Jan also
  18. Just ignore them mate Mods are taking care of these types of posters > http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57612-Drawing-a-Line#.WFaxSIHfWaM
  19. Look forward the the played 26 and played 38 update MLG you were a huge fan of Koeman? Are you now saying he's a duff?
  20. Last time (before today) we came from behind (away) to win?
  21. Convict my MOTM
  22. AFCB started with energy and passion but faded very quickly They've been poor today, while we've delivered possibly our best performance of the season?
  23. Boooom game over Jay da man
