Fantastic run, including coming back from the dead against MK Dons. Pleased that the run didn't end in defeat, great character to salvage a point against a street wise team and a strange referee.

Interesting NA has referred to being in the top ten by January in recent interviews -managing expectations? Are we the real deal as current league leaders, or punching above our weight on a wave of promotion success? This is no criticism of anyone at the club, but a reflection upon the massive raising of our expectations over such a short period of time. As a newly promoted side, our manager and most of our squad have maintained a position, for the whole season to date, which is higher than many of them as individuals have previously achieved. But we are currently travelling away as 'the league leaders coming to town', with the opposition raising their game accordingly. 2011 has been fantastic compared with the preceding few years but without a few better players supplementing our existing squad for the first time since NA arrived, we may need to be patient for a few matches before we move on after the January transfer window. This will be when we see at what pace NC wishes to progress the five year plan. Great times again, all football team related.

and repayments? I now have that TSW feeling of deja vu- was it about 90 pages ago when TSW members were calculating the various ongoing income, outgoings, debts and repayments? I now have that TSW feeling of deja vu - ( Repeat ad nauseam until some greater authority puts a stop to the money laundering business down the road )

Had to rely on the clock above the tunnel - very strange. Like adriansfc, I was surprised the 90th minute arrived so quickly, having been lulled into a soporific state by 35 minutes of sideways and backwards football.

Is this where the Season goes sour?
Kingsland Red replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Loss of confidence, DPS? Not from where I was sitting, just a little casual in front of goal in the first half. -
Listen, not all visitors to St Marys will roll over.We take the three points, draw a blue line under it and move on to Donnie.

What are you public sector lot up to on Weds then?
Kingsland Red replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Lounge
Because that's what I understand they are demonstrating against - the need to work longer before receiving a pension. Many private sector workers dont even have a pension. -

Normal work day for the self employed in the private sector, struggling to pay the taxes to support the pensions of the over staffed public sector. -
if this is so are Pompey not once again trading whilst insolvent?

I would like to think TSW members are magnamimous and can accept when we are out thought, unlike plenty of other clubs forums we have links to, who just place a defeat in the "we were crap" assessment.

How many 1/2 Season Tickets could we sell?
Kingsland Red replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Saints
After getting fed up with the fare on offer on the pitch and everyone around us being given tickets on cheap deals, we discarded our season tickets for the two seasons in Division 1. The time I wasted either on the internet or queueing at the ticket office, particularly at the end of last season, would suggest that even with no financial benefit, the deal is a good one. Not that I care, we got our season tickets back for the same seats this season, having sat on them anyway during the Div 1 days. -

Just reminded in another thread - Jim Branning. -why ?

I'd forgotten that one. Probably one of the funniest / out of context / no idea why happenings on the pitch at st Marys since the Abba tribute band and Mr keepy Uppy made appearances.

Saints 3 Brighton 0 - Post Match Chat
Kingsland Red replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
it has happened several times both towards the end of last season and this season against some of the better teams - Middlesbrough and Leeds spring to mind. Our keep ball game to see out the last 15 minutes is a much more entertaining approach than the meltdown we used to experience from our last season in the premiership until ML / NC got involved. -

Correct, not one Brighton attack on the highlights show, but I struggle to remember one during the whole game anyway. -

That's Brighton out the way. Like with the Bournemouth and Plymouth fans, we had a bit of fun with supposed rivalry, but can move on now. Top of the league and looking upward. COYR Pride of the South. Loved the 'Top of the league, you're having a laugh' thrown back at them with 'Top of the League. we're having a laugh' ! -
Having visited Kenya, the lack of a transport infrastructure would make a national league very difficult as travel times on short journeys are often significantly increased by random road blocks, accidents , spillages, river floods etc. The lack of wealth would make a football pitch and it's ongoing maintenance difficult. The lack of electricity would also be a problem. East Africa is also an area living on cash bungs etc to get by.

Taking a leaf out of our NA's routine, I have recently started getting a 12" ruler and drawing a blue line across the bottom of the back page of the match day programme. Then I move on to the next game.
