  1. if he's Swiss then he would be limited to a fondue or a decent bar of chocolate, including toblerone. However, if he's Italian than we're way better than Delia / Norwich with a range of pastas, pizzas, anti pasta and decent ice creams and desserts all washed down with some fine wines, chez cortese. Hope this helps.
  2. We keep being compared with Norwich. eg: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/9344890.Saints__remind_me_of_Norwich__says_Thorn/ I accept they got promoted twice, however, last season QPR set the pace all season. If we're going to do what others call "a Norwich," we are certainly doing it the hard way, being up there to be shot at , rather than the 'Norwich' way of sneaking into an automatic spot at the last minute.
  3. Very bizarre - Hughton and Clyne. Has anyone on the panel ( Waldorf and Stadler excluded - respect!) spotted Saints are 5 points clear ?
  4. 'Steeeeve' and probably 'Josssss', which all contributed to a strange second half
  5. Good win against a team that parked the bus. I expected Peterborough to come at us at some point, but they seemed content at 1-2. Not as bad as some teams last year, eg the Wycombe game, for an away team lacking ambition when losing, I suppose the 10 men would be Posh's excuse. COYR
  6. On a similar theme, I came out of St Marys onto the Northam Road after the West Ham game listening to a Hammers fan on the phone to his mate talking along the lines of: 'Saints were crap but we never turned up' I experienced deja vu listening to a Boro fan saying the same. Don't these people know anything about how teams set about their game plan beforehand?
  7. Not at all worried, enjoying the ride. Cortese set a 5 year plan to get to the Prem. I'm confident he will succeed. COYR
  8. As the OPof this thread, my title reads 'The best ever goal at St Marys ?' QED !!
  9. Channon v Liverpool was at The Dell.
  10. I've seen it mentioned in other threads but surely our third goal is worth its own thread. I'm struggling to think of a better worked goal at St Marys.
  11. With reference to tonight's game, Brighton v the 'Ammers, I was thinking about our new found 'rivalry' with Brighton. Until very recently I never paid any attention to what they were up to. Then last season, in a similar way to Bournemouth, they came under our radar. Win tonight and it will continue, lose tonight and we'll be ships passing in the night !!!
  12. I reckon if Southampton City Council support a planning application for the extension andthe existing structure is designed to take a further tier then it could all be done within say a year. Hope this helps. Kingsland Red ( Architect)
  13. Funny you should mention this, I was thinking CMFG watching Chappers last night
  14. Totally agree, during the Idiakez, Skacel,Viafara etc era it was torture to watch our inability to break through two lines of defence. Now we pass and move, slicing teams open at will.
  15. Great win, the movement off the ball was awesome as we passed our way around. NA certainly does his homework on the opposition, matched their hoofballers -Diop etc. No voice left but great night. COYR ( ps. Big Sam and West Ham in the same sentence doesn't sound right )
  16. This, but a mere 23 years !
  17. Pap, we seem to make most teams 'not be a good side' these days, Something it appears we may have to get used to , when playing 'The Southampton Way' as Cortese describes it.
  18. Probably back on Tuesday according to the OS, in the post match ramblings of Super NA: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2483158,00.html
  19. A very good point and an indication that contrary to many posters thoughts on here, we may not struggle against other top six sides. COYR
  20. Very tidy midfield player in our best side this century ( to date !)
  21. It can never be said enough - Thanks Markus Today's Torygraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/picturegalleries/8808046/Footballs-top-10-wealthiest-owners-in-pictures.html?image=5
  22. Sometime soon after the first pen. I've checked with the BBC videprinter thingy for the match - 23.01 minutes.
  23. Good efforts by Lambo, Chappers and Frazer but my vote goes to Lallana for that first half effort. ....Awesome Oh and we won 4-0
  24. We pump ours up to have a little movement when pressed with a human thumb. Hope this helps.
  25. Good tennis player, played for Thornden and Hampshire as a contemporary of Chris Wilkinson.
