  2. Morgan himself stated he wants to be playing CL football, not sitting at home watching it, going to Spurs isn't likely to fulfil that desire, unless they have an amazing season and one of the top four screw up in some way. Deschamp wants his players in CL sides, can we see Spurs doing that in the next few years? I guess anything is possible but would you bet on it? Chelsea, City, Man U and Arsenal are going to get stronger and stronger. By staying with us he at least leaves himself open to a CL team coming in for him at some point, by going to Spurs he's basically consigning himself to Europa football for the foreseeable future, with less chance of a move away from them. We shouldn't even consider a bid from Spurs on principal, don't strengthen a rival, especially one coached by Poch.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by with your words of wisdom. Lets face it, you wrote it to make yourself feel better really. All this talk about bigger, better, huger, slapping down, corridors, the importance this seems to have in your life, the status it gives you that you're above us in the pecking order. I feel sorry for you. I reckon you've got a tiny c*ck. Now be off with you back to your classless, soulless club and it's Uncle Festa lookalike chairman. Mwah

Or possibly someone screwed up behind the scenes, but we can't admit it.

But he didn't choose us If he wanted to come here surely he might waited until we'd matched the bid?

Absolutely this. Board cock-up or not, if there were two bids of equal value on the table, thinking logically and all emotion to one side, who do we think TA would have chosen? As far as I'm concerned when it comes to philosophy and class we trounce Spurs into the ground, but unfortunately those values probably mean very little to most pro-footballers these days. He's gone to his preferred club IMO and TA's actions in doing so "speaks volumes" as Mr Kint here has said.

Taking our red and white striped glasses off, when it comes to a straight choice between us or Spurs, logically it's a no-brainer who he'll pick. If he thinks about where his future is more likely to be guaranteed - it's at Spurs. He can look at us and see that we can't keep our best players, so our next season could be an unpredictable one, he can't be sure of our future. He can see that Koeman might only be here for another year or two tops and I'm sure RK was a big pull for him to come here. Whatever we think of Spurs (and by god I hate 'em) they are more likely to be a consistent top 6/7 club even if they do change managers every couple of years. I'm sure if nobody else came in for him he'd be our player now, but once Spurs appeared then it was game over. I'm not sure we should place too much emphasis on whether he said he wanted to stay here, any player can say that - it endears them to the fans, although the noises the club made about him staying do make you wonder what's happened. Maybe he was being disingenuous. We're all wishing he'd signed for us but is he really that mega-fantastic and irreplaceable? Aside from us there was one other team interested in signing him, no top 4 club came in, no Liverpool, AM not interested in keeping him, no other club at all. This time last year how many of us were saying lets get Toby A? I'm not saying he wasn't great, not at all, but in the end he chose Spurs, he could have waited for us if he was so keen to join, or made the right noises but he didn't. We can blame the club as much as we want but in the end Spurs was the smart choice for him although it makes me feel sick to say that :( Let's hope we get someone equally good if not better pretty soon.

So the comments yesterday from TA's dad/agent, were bs then.
  12. Have heard Spurs have sent a delegation to try and halt this move

Strange behaviour from AM. You'd think they would be happy to entertain as many bids as possible for Toby, yet if the media outlets are to be believed they appear to want him to go to Spurs without giving us an option to at least match the bid or even enter into talks.
  14. Clyne took it to an extra level of definitelyness! I watched Jay Rod's interview a few minutes ago and he manages to avoid it
  15. I'm strangely less bothered about him leaving than I thought I would be, probably because I felt like he left months ago. Just wish he wasn't going to them Anyway, hope he enjoys working with Brendan (and the masterful Roy) - sure he'll learn and develop way more than with Koeman. "One-on-ones and individual training sessions" !!! Well, what can one say - just WOW at these revolutionary methods! Come on RK keep up.
  16. Think Phil Jones would look great on the cover personally.
  17. Nice one Clyney, get yourself in with the 'pool fans early. Of course!! when one thinks about the next Fifa cover Jordan Henderson is the first person that springs to mind!
  18. Don't forget his England place will be guaranteed by the move. I'll happily wish him well if moves to a CL club, but if he goes to Liverpool..........:sulk:
  19. I agree, Tom Carroll wasn't in the game, thought it was a strange decision leaving him on whilst taking off JWP. Our midfield in the second half seemed non-existant.

  21. Sincere apologies. I think you've just hit upon the cure for porn addicts, a compulsory image of a naked Joe Brand, legs spread. Should do the trick. Hope nobody was eating while they read that
