Just renewed my season ticket. I was in Kingsland Centre but have moved to wing and bought my 10 year old son his first season ticket Would have cost me £350 in centre just for my ticket but tow season tickets in wing cost £320 (£14 a game for the two of us) People may moan about the price of matchday tickets at £22 for adults, but even if you miss a few games it works out cheaper if you purchase a season ticket, even if you a new season ticket holder if you go to 16 (out of 23) games or more its cheaper. Eg 16 games @ £22 = £352 - season ticket £342 (wings / northam) So go on get a season ticket, you know it makes sense

I wonder how long it will take for Mark Jackson to come in with a yet another consortium in an attempt to rescue them as he's successfully done at Bournemouth and Saints already ?
-
Best (so many but my personal favourites) Saints 3 West Ham 3 (1971/72) (shown on Match of the DAy) 3-0 down and came back with terry Paine going mad after scoring the equaliser Saints 5 Blackburn 0 (1977/78 promotion season revenge for Battle of Ewood game when Ossie and Steve Williams were sent Off) Saints 4 Liverpool 1 (week after we'd won 4-1 at QPR in Nicholl Era) Saints 2 Newcastle 1 (Matty scored 2 great goals the first just as Branfoot was about to bring him off) Saints 6 Man Utd 3 (great to thrash Mancs, Keane snet off and great Matty chip for second goal) Worst Losing 2-0 to Brighton days after we'd beaten Man U 3-2 at home 1981/82 ??, win would have put us top, but we put in numerous high balls allnight which Steve Fioster won with ease. Losing 2-0 to Pompey in their one season up in the 1980's Losing 6-2 to Spurs in FAC after being 2-0 up and winning the game easily.

It could be talking about anyone FFS People on message boards etc. Just as likely could be refering to a Jackson and his Peter Reid statement
-
Ditto can particularly remember the Blackburn supporters all applauding his goal there and me getting strange looks from the Villa fans in the stands when I cheered his goal there from the safety of an executive box

In terms of results you are quite correct, but if you ask anyone who watched Saints when Keegan played us, it was in that period that we played the highest quality football we've ever played in my lifetime IMO (and i'm 50). During that period I went to home games not wondering if we'd win but wondering by how many goals, fans were dissapointed with a 1-0 win. It was all out attack week in week out. The 83/84 season, when we got to the the semi final and were runners up in the league was great (especially the Cup run beating Pompey etc.), but for all out entertainment the Keegan years have never been beaten.
-
In Nick Hornsby's Book "Fever Pitch" he mentions this game and questions why so there were so many people for a Southampton game (he didn't seem to realise it was all down to Keegan's presence in our team) I rememeber going to Sunderland on the saturday following the Arsenal game. We won 2-1 and the ground was full with over 40,000 fans at a time when they normally got 30,000 for thier home games.

Could he be getting confused with Des Lynham who should be avaialble when Satanta go tits up

Thought it was rich on Radio Solent that P*mpey fans faced an anxious fortnight wait until deal is completed. They've got no problems compared to us , what the F**K do they think we're going though at the moment !!!
-
Stop scaremongering. Darlington and Stockport are in exactly the same postion as us at the momemnt, and last season Bournemouth still had not sorted themselves out days before the start of the new season.
-
For Brighton if you sign into Southern Trains website they do deal where 4 adults can travel anywhere in the region covered by their trains for £20 which maeks return to Brighton £5 each.
-
Indeed for instance when travelling by train to Exeter it's cheaper to get Group of Four to Axminster then Group of 4 from Axminster to Exeter than a straight forward Group of 4 form Southampton to Exeter.

Steve lots of detail given above, but what is the date of the game, can't see it anywhere. -
League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season

Totally agree eelpie. It must have been obvious to all our Directors (incl. Mr's Lowe, Wilde, Jones) the terrible financail position we were in on March 26th, our position could not have got much worse in the few days betweb then and when we went into adminstration. What have we gained from the delay into going into administration apart from an almost certain 10 points deduction at the start of next season. Well done one and all, i wonder who Rupert will blame for this gross error, as it obviously wasn't his fault, after all nothing is ever or ever will be his fault!! -
Preston without a doubt was best, had great night out before in Lancaster, and like many present had given up any hope when Preston scored their second just before half -time but the second half comeback combined with last minute winner, plus all the goals being scored at our end made it a great awayday, and who can forget Kelvin running the length of the field to join in the celebrations when we scored the winner. Reading was also top notch dayout, and I really enjoyed Donny and Derby too.

Got to be Swansea not only for the performance but also the way the Police behaved. Although Bristol Police ran them a close second. Also Birmingham where I wasn't let in our end so had to watch from home end. But performaces at Wolves (left at half time watched second jhalf in pub), Coventry, QPR are far behind as awful trips.

I've got 6 Saints supporting mates coming over from Holland for this game, but it seems the majority of people of Southampton can't be arsed even though we desperately need the money form the gate receipts, no wonder we are in the mess we are, they all managed to turn out for the Man U game Ok .

Saints know there is enough demand for extra allocation, it's Forest who are stalling and maybe trying to restrict our numbers, and give more tickets to thier fans for this vital game

Picked up tickets for London Saints this morning, approx 600 left. Also although Saints have repeatedly requested the extra allocation Forest will not make a decision on whether we'll get the extra tickets until monday (obviously waiting to see how weekends results effect the situation), sop we may end up with only the inital allocation. if they don't give us the extras I think there will be a made scramble toget remaining tickets.

You are right it was Mackerel thrown on the pitch as it had been at all the previous cup games at Forest, P*mpey and Blackburn on that cup run. Several lads from West Tytherley started the trend at Forest adn more and more fish got thrown on the pitch as the run contuinued. I helped run two coaches from Salisbury to Sheffield, which contained some of these lads and the smell of all the fish was awful. Also remember not being allowed to being escorted back by Police to South Of Oxford on the way back, we only just managed pint before closing time just north of Newbury.
-
It is definately one ticket per season ticket, but I think you'll find many on here are getting tickets for either other season ticket holders or are using season tickets from people who are not going to the game for other supporters.

I see on OS that all David Luker is co-ordinating the fundraising effort http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11612 So suggust everyone contact him rather than the likes of Leon Crouch

On the subject of Fundraising, did anyone see the the 76 year old Lady on Sky Sports news who supported Saints all her life hand over £500 of her own cash to the cause. This club has a hardcore of great fans, she is a fine example of the great supporters we have.
