if you look on national rail website the N9 services ive mentioned are the only options for getting too and from Burnley this saturday (no N8 ), so assume will be the same next week as this has been the case for the last month of strikes
-
pretty certain strike will go ahead i've looked at the timetables for last 3 strike days on saturdays and they are pretty consistant look at timetable N9 on this website https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/strike there are trains to Blackburn at 10.10, 11.38 and 12.09 from Preston, then coach from there to Burnley, all of these would get you there in time for kick off after game a coach from Burnley Central to Blackburn at 18.12 then train to Preston where it arrives 19.30 there are no trains Manchester to Burnley, but you can get a bus which takes around an hour

Preston looks better bet to me, more hotels and better pubs

Seemed like one of the longest second half’s I’ve ever witnessed, but great defending by whole team, Leicester rarely caused us any issues in the penalty area, most of their shots from outside the area, back three of Bednarek, Stephens and Vestergaard brilliant and all the rest of the team put a shift in, certainly didnt expect on way up to get home with team not only winning but moving up to 16th and point clear of relegation zone
-
as BBC now covering game think they might do well to get 10,000 most of the group of 30 or so i go with not bothering as a result but might have if not on TV
-
there is but only on the Saturday so friday night or sunday game with not be effected https://www.rmt.org.uk/news/rmt-confirms-raft-of-new-strike-dates-on-northern-rail191218/ also worth noting if staying up hardly any hotels / guest houses in Accrington

oldsarum replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
he's cuptied as he played for Burton at S****horpe in 1st round -
But steep considering ticket cost £20 !
-
Although it currently says sold out, I’m pretty certain more will become available in Block M2 as we’ve only sold 1250 for blocks M3 and M4 so far
-
Very few tickets left for game ticket exchange open now
-
Odd that I swear I saw him chasing a lost cause in first half which defender had to pass back to keeper, who then kicked it to Romeu at start of our move for second goal !
-
Cedric all day long Valery looks good if playing wing back, but looked poor as right back in a back four

Possible re-siting of away fans at SMS

kingsland north is in many cases as noisy if not noisier than northan which in last 3 or 4 years has been awful, top many anti pompey songs, can often hear more from the Itchen north than northam -
thats where he played against Watford and imo he was more effective than other games playing just behind Ings

Chorley was not a major palyer in SISA in the days it counted for anything (eg Protests that ultimately led to Branfoot getting the boot), it was the likes of Clive Foley and Nick Illingsworth and other members of the committee of which i was one, along with Fanzine producers of the time and Perry Macmillan, getting involved with well organised/publised/attended meetings and protests

Premier League TV fixtures - December and January
oldsarum replied to Pamplemousse's topic in The Saints
For the many who get train to home games works out better as we can get to game ok now and loads of people will not be at work that day anyway -
Been expecting this for weeks once, Spurs v Man City was moved Unfortunatley London Saints and many other supporters will have bought advanced (far cheaper) train tickets based on Saturday, after it was confirmed the game was not on TV in August. Already contacted Saints about getting compensation for our train tickets, but they are not interested, this dispite my pointing out to them that Man city are compensating their supporters who have been effected by the change of date for their game at Spurs, compensating them for train and hotel costs. Supporters relations at Saints told me we should not buy train tickets until match tickets go on sale, (but obviously do not understand that all cheaper tickets would have gone by the time they got arround to doing this), however this goes against what happened last year when date for Arsenal game was changed and i know you for one Shroppie were denied compensation for tickets and hotels you'd already paid for. As this issue os due to Spurs surely the Premier league should step in and get them to compensate supporters who have been effected as a result of their failure to complete the new stadium. most building contracts have a cluase in them for damges to be recovered should a contract overun, so Spurs are most likely getting money from the Building Contractor for whats happended and should be made pass that on to supporters. However the Premier league and it appears Saints not interested in ordinary supporters, but nice to see Man City doing the right thing

this pompey site says 9,000 and forgets to include the seats in North Stand where some of my mates were and had all sorts thrown at them during the game http://www.pompeyvoices.co.uk/story/129b7e1877
-
there were far more than 6,000 Saints fans at Fratton in 84, we had the Milton End, and Seats in North Stand and fans in half the paddock South Stand, and in section of seats above that day at least 10,000 Saints fans there

Stokes -FA Cup Final Moran - Pompey 84 Moncou winner 5-4 Norwich Long - Anfield Cup Semi Final Gabbadini - Swansea
-
Spot on we lacked a player holding up or winning the ball up front in our first two games and Long provides this, unfortunately Gabbi cannot do this and with him up front we consistently give the ball away and put ourselves under pressure
-
S1E now on sale just over 1850 sold so far
-
be lucky to take 2,000 i think, not so much interest in League Cup until later rounds as shown by our home attendances, doubt if Brighton have sold many either, they are only selling tickets for the lower tiers on the side and none behind the goals
-
We dont have upper tier like we did last season, but LV1 and LV2 are lower bullpen rear with many of seats restricted views
-
although it is a pain, it will make it easy should you wish to attend any future games as they will have all your family recorded as Saints Fans, you'll be able to get tickets for most home games and a few away ones too, youll also end up getting sent regular emails from the club
