  1. Team picks itself - i wonder if Puel will bench Boufal for his little tantrum over being subbed. Hopefully he apologised swiftly after the game and he starts - he's getting notably better every game.
  2. Seems a little unfair on us this Christmas period.
  3. He's back!
  4. ****ing play in a full back for once in your life
  5. When there where 3 saints players trying to hack down a bompy player in the middle of the pitch was probably the final warning - been great but was probably getting a 2nd yellow if he stayed on for the rest of the game.
  6. Get the **** in - Davis is so good at those snappy little short passes around the box.
  7. Redmond needs to use Cedric if he bombs forward - two or three times they've had a break when he's lost or or lost it the pass afterwards and there's a huge gap at rightback - not Cedrics fault. Redmond will get more space if he passes it a bit more and is a little less selfish.
  8. Yoshida has been great - nothing like the liability we all thought he was in the previous seasons. Who would have thought playing him in his main position would be a good idea!
  9. Entertaining half - we probably shaded it. They should tire in the second half seeing as this bompy team hasn't really been rested at all.
  10. Comon Redmond.
  11. I wonder if he bangs them in for fun in training?
  12. Get in - absolute class. Get him up top!
  13. I meant more than 40k at the moment - i could imagine us offering wages around the 60/70k mark to entice someone. Someone on that figure already isn't going to take a flat move i would doubt. All the PL strikers are crap and expensive as well.
  14. Everyone seems keen to sign a striker - can people start naming realistic targets that will actually move in Jan? People on over 40k/week won't be coming People over 28 won't be coming People still in the Champions League / Europa League / Their current club is doing well in their respective league - won't be coming So someone cheap doing well in a **** team that isn't in Europe and has no hopes of doing well in the league - might as well get Gallagher back.
  15. Quite clearly the man to take us forward - we are developing youth players and playing decent football. We are lacking a little bit of a cutting edge - but there's a lot of new players being used (particularly up front) so it's not surprising it's taking a bit of time to gel. Before the season we all kind of expected somewhere around 9th/10th and a good cup run and we are exactly there.
  16. Expectations are pretty low for this one - JRod scoring and us winning would be epic.
  17. Trust Arsenal to **** it up.
  18. Everton are being played of the park here. I really hope Arsenal put 5 or 6 past them.
  19. Really hope Arsenal give Everton the complete pasting they deserve. Not working out quite as he planned anymore.
  20. Irritatingly it makes a lot of sense for UTD - they have a very young defence and even if he only really plays occasionally it would be useful for the others to have a more experienced defender in the mix. They are also losing Bailly to the AFCON.
  21. We where in a much worse point when we sold all of those players - its reasonable to think we should be able to offer European football semi-consistently over the next 5 years - something that has never been the case before. As long as we can offer the opportunity to play good quality football on the European stage individuals will be more likely to stay. Obviously we aren't going to keep everyone - we just have a better chance of keeping individuals, particularly if they are from the Southampton area (McQueen etc.).
  22. All the goals where excellent - it's really clear how much better the youth team (and youth teams in general) are nowadays. I would guess that we have the best chance of having loyal players to the club if they came up through the youth system - hopefully we can keep getting 1-2 into the first team each year.
  23. - Watford (home) 1-1 - opening game of the season and we actually played pretty well in the 2nd half. - Sunderland (Home) 1-1 - same story as the watford game - HBS (away) 0-0 - mind numbingly dull - hesketh subbed after 20 mins was probably the only talking point - Hull (away) 2-1 - payed well got unlucky - Chelsea (home) 0-2 - Chelsea were excellent, the best team we have played all season by a long way. - Liverpool (home) 0-0 - WTF?!? a draw at home against the title favourites (at that point) - Prague (away) 1-0 - Dire - Palace (away) 3-0 - Irritating - HBS (home) 1-1 - Annoying.
  24. This game looks like it will be ****ing dull - scraping a win would excellent. I wonder when VVD gets his rest - can't see it being this one. Maybe home against Bompey. It's the time of the year where thin squads start getting exposed - hopefully are relative depth advantages over the lower have can start telling.
