I reckon the end to this is that VVD gets offered a new contract for circa £100k/week, being top salary by a mile, and he gets sold next summer. I don't think he will go Liverpool, he'll get the same chat Morgan got.

Bertrand doesn't need replacing, Cedric sort of needs replacing. VVD is completely different - he is a very rare breed of dominating centre back and much, much, much harder to replace.
