  1. Ok, you got me. I do actually exist.
  2. Indeed! I blame my youngest daughter for telling me to read Richard Dawkins!
  3. Nothing about any religion stands rational scrutiny. The test is we have to believe what we are told despite everything. Only then are we accepted by whatever God we decide is the one. It’s a bit silly really isn’t it? If I was an all powerful diety I wouldn’t want to be worshipped by a bunch of idiots who insisted on believing in me despite overwhelming evidence that I do not exist.
  4. I think we have roundly proved the old adage if you want a quiet life never discuss politics or religion. Having already done politics to death it is now religion’s turn. Go for it lads!
  5. It was a very watered down and weak version of PR and not what we needed.
  6. The point is the majority of the country did not vote Conservative.
  7. Loved The Rutles and the crazy Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. Sad news. He wrote some great pastiche versions of The Beatles songs. RIP Ron Nasty
  8. VAR is not the problem. The problem is how it is used. It will get better.
  9. And yet the majority of the electorate voted against your moral compass.
  10. Will we seem the same kind of exposure given to Tory Islamophobia by the Mail, Express and Sun as they gave to Labour and anti-Semitism? Will they make as much fuss as the lurch to the right by the Tories as they did the lurch to the left by Labour? There has been a huge outcry about democracy since Brexit but how is it served with such a bias in the mainstream media?
  11. 2,965,830 people more voted against the Tory policies.
  12. Little wonder that most of the country are anti people like you and your party. In case you have missed it, public services are on their knees and the people who use them, including people of your political persuasion, are suffering as a result. Still, if you think it helps by name calling, something another right wing poster here also relies on, then knock yourself out.
  13. Not really an answer is it? I am assuming you have never worked in the public sector, and certainly not during the last decade.
  14. Palace good away. We have been weak sat home. A draw not unexpected. Very happy with 7 points from 3 games.
  15. If your lot cared so much why did they let this happen in the first place? And you can’t run public services if you don’t spend enough on them, as we have found out in the last decade.
  16. I’ve met Vic Reeves a few times as he is a friend of a neighbour and has been at some local functions. Very hard to make conversation with and nothing like his on screen persona. A bit of a **** in fact. His wife is much more engaging (and very fit too).
  17. Back in the 80’s we were told that comedy was the new rock and roll. It seems now to have just been absorbed into the generality of light entertainment in the main. Still, perhaps the new series of Spitting Image will bring back a bit of bite.
  18. Probably where I went wrong too. Although disliking James Corden also probably has helped.
  19. 2, 4, 3 and 1 but the last episode of 4 was best by a country mile. The first series wasn’t really Blackadder as we understand it. It was Atkinson’s project if I remember correctly but didn’t go down to well until it was rescued by Curtis and Elton from series 2 onwards.
  20. My kids can quote Friends all day long. Given that is is on all of the time that is not surprising. It is the one thing that we all agree is funny.
  21. My 3 kids are Millennials and don’t find the things funny that my wife and I laugh at. Very much an Ab Fab situation where there is a role reversion between children and parents. We giggle like kids at stuff and they just roll their eyes at us.
  22. Of course they do, it’s just that shows like Gavin and Stacey and Mrs Browns Boys pull in massive viewing figures and get lots of column inches and yet I find both shows to be completely unfunny. I doesn’t take much to make me laugh so I am not hard to please. You’d think that Gavin and Stacey was the new Fawlty Towers the way the media have fawned over the new show. Perhaps it is and I have missed something?
  23. Am I the only person in the country who thinks that this show is not funny?
  24. To you to Nick
  25. Perhaps. Maybe Ralph is a decent manager and has just gone through a poor period?
