Sad news of his passing today aged 86. Wonderful tv character but haven’t seen anything of him for years. RIP

Nothing better to do with your life than to stalk a complete stranger on the internet?

Not exactly getting Brexit done is it?
-
Poor old Boris. It looks like his “Get Brexit Done” pledge has been dealt a death blow by Michael Barnier who says that it is “unrealistic” that it will be sorted by 2021. Another false claim by the waffling, lying, clueless Tory leader.
-
Being exposed as a fraud and clueless. Trouble is hopefully the damage is already done. They should have hidden him in the same cellar as Rees-Mogg.

Surely aspiring to live in Utopia is better than the last 9 years of enforced austerity?

Well put Shroppie. I would add one more. 11. I am going to vote for a country that gives my children and their children an opportunity to live in a society that is fair and supportive of everybody and is governed by people who carry out these principles in everything they do.

Thing is we really do not know what the truth of it is. She may well have been under the impression that Gao was going to take us forward. Innocent until proven guilty?

You have to go some to find a worse choice than Donald Trump but in this campaign Johnson has shown that he is. Apart from the same old soundbite, he rambles incoherently and embarrasses himself on a daily basis. Mr Bean would make a better PM.

I’ll see your Ashworth and raise you a Major, a Heseltine and a Clark.

Just read an interesting FB post about Hancock and the hospital story. If true he used someone else’s account to post a false rebuttal of the story.

Can you stop with the childish name calling. I can point you in the direction of plenty of people who think the BBC is biased towards the Tories so there is no point playing that card. They have added some info to the report from when I first read it. Re the 31 flagged reports of election ads that were untruthful, 10 were attributed to the Tories, 11 to the LibDems, 6 to Brexit and 4 to Labour. The figure of 5952 ads came from paid for ads from the 3 main parties recorded in the first 5 days of December on Facebook. The Tories managed to record a rate of 88% not correct or not entirely correct ads. The Labour Party recorded zero.
-
It’s a report from the BBC. It actually said it found none by Labour but in the interests of fairness I added a statement when Corbyn got a fact wrong. It also mentioned the LibDems charts.
-
The Coalition for Reform in Political Advertising is saying that 31 campaigns are “indecent, dishonest or untruthful.” 88% (5952) of Tory ads have breached their code. Only 1 from Labour apparently. People keep kicking off about democracy but what price democracy when a party spouts a stream of bull**** which is swallowed whole by a large % of the electorate and is allowed to get away with it?

Which, to an extent, what what was going on with the Criminal Justice System when I was with the CPS. Once or twice a year for the last few years in posts we were told to get rid of x number of staff or close y numbers of offices. Once Probation was hived off there were strong rumours that the CPS would be next. Don’t be surprised to see that happen if Johnson gets a working majority.

He is held accountable because he is the leader of the party that for the last 9 years has underfunded the NHS to the point that it is now broken. Having worked in middle management closely with senior management for a government agency I can promise you that it is the senior cabinet officials and their financial decisions that are making it impossible for management in public services to do their jobs effectively.

Just listened to a Hammers fan on TalkSport and he was sounding just like us. Sounds like they have a number of similar problems and confidence is low. Good time to be playing them.

We are ok now thanks Nick. Mrs SOG found another job a while back and with some part time work that I have found we are keeping our heads above water. We have amassed some debt though from earlier in the year which will take a while to settle. Before she found work we did consider selling our house but the market is very flat here and has been for a while. Some close neighbours have had a similar property on the market for well over a year and despite dropping the price several times still haven’t sold. Having seen the system first hand it is really not fit for purpose. Labour have said they will scrap it. The LibDems have said they will reform it. Certainly something needs to be done. Mrs SOG was also supposed to get counselling sessions and that process was rubbish. They are just overwhelmed and you can’t get to see anyone promptly. It was suggested we paid for private sessions but just couldn’t afford that option. Fortunately she is working with people who appreciate her and has managed to put the bullying episode from her last job behind her, but it did make her feel suicidal and the lack of support from the care services was very worrying. A guy on the programme said that the welfare system was previously open to abuse and did need reforming but has gone too far the other way. It isn’t providing anywhere near the support it should in a time frame that is helpful. The system is dehumanising. People interviewed on the programme had to go to the CAB when UC let them down. One guy had to wait a year to have his appeal heard. We have been fortunate and have come through relatively unscathed, but it is crushing many people. It was good to see the BBC put this out just before polling day but there hasn’t been enough made of it in the campaigns and unfortunately it has got lost in the fog of Brexit.

IPSO have finally decided, after 5 months, that the Mail on Sunday story that was used by the Tories on their election campaign about Labour scraping capital gains tax for many homes is a pack of lies. They were not going to publish their findings until after the election though and we only know about it thanks to The Guardian breaking the embargo.

Perhaps were a scared of getting our own version of Trump here and are acting out on an Internet forum because we don’t know what to do to prevent this car crash? We are not having a go at Johnson because he is fat, we are having a go because he doesn’t give a toss and will potentially lead us into a divisive political period not seen since the Thatcher years.
-
We are talking about the man who is going to be our Prime Minister during the most important period in our history since the end of WW2 not some spotty little adolescent with a hard on. Then again...
-
So this is the man who will lead us out of the EU and unlock our potential? Vote for him and you will get the biggest turkey this Christmas. He can’t even face up to 30 minutes with Andrew Neil. Trump must be licking his lips.

I really don’t think any other leader would have taken the reporters phone and put it in their pocket.

People die on hospital trolleys because of Toryism.
