  1. Are you incapable of working out paying for something for the general good no matter what service that is for? FFS we are talking about £2.97 per week! It is worth that for David Attenborough alone. Just to put things into perspective it would cost you £4.50 a week for The Sun.
  2. Nearly there. Hats off to everyone at the club for an amazing turn around. A special shout out to the board for keeping faith with Ralph.
  3. Of course not. It is entirely possible to have a public funded organisation with an independent regulatory body. Do you think people who don’t want to use the NHS should get a tax rebate?
  4. Why should we have a choice with the BBC when we don’t have a choice with other areas of public spending on things we don’t use, like Trident for example?
  5. There is a difference between a judicial verdict and having a view on that verdict. I never disputed the fact that Boycott was found guilt, I just wondered what it was about the evidence that convinced the judge. People do it all the time, like those who believe that having sex with incapacitated women is not rape.
  6. So one person out of 60 odd million.
  7. The principle of funding certain public services whether you want them or not. Keep up.
  8. Yes, but I would prefer that a new way of funding was found. Never watch Match of the Day?
  9. I will never forgive him for those four consecutive top ten finishes either mate, but it is time to move on.
  10. So are you saying that everyone who objects to the licence fee and anyone in their household never watches a BBC programme, never listens to the BBC on the radio or never looks at the BBC news online?
  11. They would have been heartened to see the lady in the dodgy blonde wig on question time going all Farage on Question Time on Thursday night then and getting away pretty much unchallenged. I am sure they would think that is worth the licence fee alone for this year.
  12. I have Sky
  13. I didn’t say that you had said it, but the way you slag off the BBC you would think that it was complete rubbish compared to everything else out there. I have lost count of how many channels are on my TV, but I don’t watch 95% of them because I have no interest in them. I still have to pay for them though. You can be selective as you like, but when you ignore the great many wonderful broadcasts on BBC you weaken your argument.
  14. There are plenty of republicans in this country who help fund the monarchy. That is the way society works. We all contribute to things we may or may not like, may or may not use. I don’t know why you have to use this to bash the left again. Perhaps deep down you are really ashamed for hoisting Johnson on us and are acting out? Who knows? Anyway, I doubt if any BBC supporters would have a problem with changes. The best one I have heard is scrapping the licence fee and funding the BBC through our taxes.
  15. You can go on slagging off the BBC all day long hypo, but you can’t pretend that alternative broadcasters don’t produce poor programming too. And just because you don’t think something is worth watching or listening to, it doesn’t mean that others share the same opinion.
  16. Would you have Pelle back?
  17. Nice to have a choice.
  18. Don’t tell me that Boris is looking to get rid of that too?
  19. I bet most of us grew up watching kids programmes on BBC. My kids did too.
  20. The BBC is a great British institution and I expect that most people in the UK have grown up enjoying its products. It would be a shame to see it dismantled.
  21. Or the foreign service or anything else that is of no interest to you.
  22. Right wing terrorist this time apparently.
