Someone to poddle around the country opening municipal buildings and wining and dining the likes of Trump etc. Can you imagine how much fun it would be to see Trump arrive out of Air Force One only to be greeted on the tarmac by Katie Price?

I’d be a fully fledged Republican only I would want to see people like Blair, Cameron, May or Johnson as head of state. Maybe if we could chose a non politician? Someone like David Attenborough.

Charles seems to be dropping strong hints that the Royal Family will be slimmed down in future. No bad thing but they ought to look at the whole thing. How many palaces do you need for example? Sell off a lot of the goodies and give the money back to the public. Reduce the royal list drastically. Pay tax on your income. Perhaps then it will stave off a move towards republicanism which will surely become more of an issue once Her Maj croaks.

A week to go. This has not been as arduous as I thought. Last time I had vast quantities a political garbage on my phone every day. I have removed the Mail and Express from my newsfeed so that has helped. There has also been a lot less Tory propaganda appearing on my FB page, probably because I have blocked a lot of Tories! We had a long chat about how we were going to vote last night. Mrs SOG is going to stick with the LibDems. I am stick stuck between Labour and the LibDems. I am leaning towards Labour as they will get rid of the dreadful Universal Credit system but the LibDems appeal due to their unambiguous position on Brexit. The waters are muddied re a tactical vote. The Tory is strongly behind a huge new Market Town development nearby which is very unpopular as there will be a massive effect on the local health system and infrastructure. Labour and LibDems both seem to be against it so they both could hover up votes but that will split Tory opposition. I can live with a Labour government or a Labour/LibDem coalition. I can’t think of anything more depressing of 5 more years of Tory rule.

I thought Cedric did ok as well. There were some errors but then that is our defence for you. As for playing well for an hour, just to point out the obvious but games last over 90 minutes. We don’t kill teams off and find it hard to manage out games. The moment Norwich scored our mentality changed and they were in the game. Hopefully this will help the confidence and there is certainly something to build on. Looking forward to Newcastle.

I know Whelk but we could easily have conceded in the last minutes of both games. The fact that we didn’t was down to poor finishing rather than good defending. Do you feel confident of the points when we are only 2-1 up?

Did you see both interviews?

I think it is a bit of both. When you lack confidence you probably feel more fatigued. We were in control of the game and looked comfortable until they scored. We looked a different side after that and looked very tired for the last 10 minutes or so. Not being able to keep a clean sheet is a major problem for us and you really think that we need to score 3 a game to get anywhere. Still, given how bad the results have been at St Mary’s I am not going to complain about back to back wins.

Swinson handled herself well against Neil this evening. It seemed to disarm him a bit when she held her hands up and admitted mistakes. He loves a fight, so don’t give him one. Still no sign of Johnson putting his neck on the block.
