  1. Brexit paying dividends already!
  2. Whatever you believe in, it has to be a good thing to have one day a year when we try not to be arseholes to each other. But as Scrooge said in the recent retelling of A Christmas Carol, maybe we have got it round the wrong way and we should spend all year being nice to each other and one day being arseholes? Anyway, enjoy the day and savour being with the people you love and care about.
  3. And it was going so well...
  4. A Christmas Carol was excellent. I just hope that Boris was watching.
  5. Have a good one Lighthouse, and thank you and your fellow mods for putting up with us again this year!
  6. I’d be more than happy to buy you a pint hypo. The world would be a very boring place if we all agreed about everything, but perhaps we should be a little kinder to each other in 2020 To all posters on here and your families, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year. And for goodness sake, let’s start winning our home matches! Best wishes to all!
  7. There is a huge difference between spend, spend, spend and enforced austerity. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. It was a choice that the Government took. There were other choices.
  8. Watford, Norwich, Aston Villa and us are the worst 4 teams in this division. West Ham and Bournemouth aren’t far off. All of these teams are capable of picking up the odd win but the 3 going down will be out of these teams I think. A lot will depend on the January window for us. We are a couple of players away from being a decent mid table side. The trouble is finding the right players. If we don’t it is going to be an uphill struggle for the second half of the season given our poor home form.
  9. I think what “soft arse lefties” want us the end of food banks, child poverty, austerity, under founded public services etc. You know, the stuff that grew under the government that you support. If you lot cared about that stuff it would not have happened. But you really don’t and it did.
  10. Yet again I did, but like most things, it went over your head.
  11. It depends just how much string pulling is going on, or needed. Given Johnson’s lack of scruples or commitment to anything other than his career, I would imagine that there will be an awful lot of string pulling required with Johnson.
  12. And yet not do long ago, if you had come on here and said that Trump would become POTUS and Johnson PM you would have been roundly laughed at.
  13. It depends on your views. I would say you and a few other posters here are right wing, wouldn’t you. Some may have voted against Labour because of Corbyn, but there are a few of you that are hard core Tories.
  14. You are a wag Wes.
  15. Voting for a party and being a so called “Lefty” can be two very different things. We ought to remember also that 55% of the country voted against the Tory policies. As we are told time and again by the 52% of Brexiters, democratically, you lost. Johnson also fared little better than May’s last vote, so hardly a ringing endorsement there. We are stuck with the arcane and unrespresentative first passed the post system, but let’s not pretend that everyone is behind Johnson. Yes he would still have won with PR, but there would have been no “landslide.”
  16. You don’t had to be a “Lefty” to hate everything the Tories stand for and have done in the last 9 years Wes. I will give my vote to anyone prepared to reverse the policies of austerity and who is prepared to work for a fairer society.
  17. Campbell was Blair’s spin doctor. With Cummings we are talking about a de facto PM as Johnson doesn’t appear to have any idea about what he is doing other than getting Brexit done.
  18. Wonderful, but we aren’t talking about that.
  19. He played in the same era as George Best and was one of the best midfield players of his time. If fact, Alf Ramsey was quoted as saying that he was 10 years ahead of his time and he was spot on. He was a quiet, model professional which is probably why there hasn’t been much of a reaction, but those of us who saw him play in that era will remember him as much at the Bests, the Greaves and the Laws.
  20. Ok, I’ll bite. Where is the evidence that I support the far left and anti- semitism?
  21. Ken Clarke seems to think it is Dom. How many votes did he get again?
  22. Perhaps you should give up the tedious stalking. If only for Christmas. You have a problem with people who support socialism. I have a problem of people who are supportive of the far right and racism. Let’s just agree to differ and leave it there.
  23. The term “far right” is hardly a childish insult and is used universally to describe the politics of people of that persuasion like Tommy Robinson and Katie Hopkins. You will find the term “far right” used by all of the major news agencies. I have yet to see the term LibDums used by anyone other than our resident Tory.
  24. Lemina and Boufal both looked good when they first joined. Elyounousi has looked very good at Celtic since he joined them.
