  1. You say Fonte rather than Lambert?? Also o didn’t realise that Fonte was part of the management structure.
  2. And yet he did at Anfield in the semi final. Short memory or just Pelle syndrome?
  3. Yes it is. We hear on here all of the time about what little interest Gao has in the club and in football and then the next minute he is supposedly telling the manager to leave a player out because of his ethnicity? We have had some really bizarre conspiracy theories on here but this one takes the biscuit. Not that long ago people were calling for Yoshida and Stephens to be dropped. Now they are calling for them to be reinstated? Here's a thought. Perhaps Hughes doesnt rate Yoshi and Stephens that is why he isn't playing them. If Yoshida is such a problem with our branding campaign in China, why he is even on the bench? A bigger issue is our poor form. We aren't going to sell our brand anywhere until we become a decent team again (and despite all the moaning in recent years, we have actually been decent for a number of them) - it doesnt matter what nationality our players are.
  4. Simms played a full match and Reed scored for Blackburn.
  5. Seems odd that he can’t even get on the bench? Looks like a decent player.
  6. So what has happened to Armstrong? Any news?
  7. Jose gave away a penalty that was saved. Also Pepe scored a hat trick to win the game for Lille and according to the Manchester Evening News turned down a move to us in the summer. Sounds like United are after him.
  8. Probably because he turned us down.
  9. Yes it would. If it was that much of an issue for Gao why even have him on the bench? Why not just sell him? Could it be that Hughes doesnt actually rate Yoshi that highly? Yoshi is a great pro and is handy to have on the bench, but he really isnt a top quality premiership player. Whether he is better than Hoedt or not is debatable, but Hughes seems to think so and he is the one who has played at the highest level and watches them in training day out. When there was a debate on here about Hughes's appointment it was agreed that he wouldnt stand for any interference from "management" in team affairs. Do you really believe he would leave out a player he wanted to start with at the owner's behest?
  10. Says who?
  11. Not all fouls are yellow card offences but every foul given in the penalty area against the defending team is a penalty.
  12. Same age as me Whelk. His career ended at 28 through injury which was a great shame as he really was a quality player. Sounds like his life was pretty tough when he stopped playing too.
  13. Kevin Beattie has passed away of a suspected heart attack at 64. A great CH for Ipswich and excellent for England. One of those players I wished that we could have signed. RIP
  14. We will leave that to the Islamophobes amongst us, like you and your buddy Batman.
  15. Put as only you could put it Duckster. But yes, you would imagine that these pictures are taken and viewed mostly for sexual gratification. I could see that if someone posted sexually explicit pictures of someone on social media out of spite, that could be seen as a form of "hate" but as much as it is demeaning to women (unless they are happily complicit in the taking of the pictures of course) surely it can only be classed as a sex crime rather than a hate crime? The term "hate crime" is also becoming a catchall for all manner of things that don't really include actual "hate" and comes across as very Orwellian.
  16. Should it be made illegal? Of course. It is clearly a form of voyeurism and has no place in a civilised society. Should it be deemed a "hate crime?" Absolutely not. A sex crime it may be, but where does "hate" and "misogyny" come into it? Men have been trying to ogle women's bodies since time began and it has nothing to do with hate - quite the opposite in fact. How on earth can they try and dress it up as "hate crime?" Truly bizarre.
  17. What are you talking about?
  18. Tommy Jenkins great dribble at Upton Park in the 1-1 draw in 1970. Bobby Stokes in the final. From the angle I was sitting it looked like the ball was going past the post. Went ape when the net rippled. Rookie defender Mark Whitlock scoring the late winner against Stoke in 1982 in the classic 4-3 win. 3-0 at half time. Ex Skate Alan Biley led their fightback and ex Saint Dave Watson hit a screamer for them. Pahars late equaliser against Blackburn in the 3-3 draw at the start of The Great Escape in 1999 and his brace against Everton on the final day to keep us up all prompted mayhem amongst the fans. Tony Funnell's goal to give us a draw at Orient that virtually guaranteed promotion in 1978. The place went ape, the crowd surged forward and we were crushed against the retaining wall, which then gave way. Thankfully no one was badly hurt and I ended up walking off the pitch with the players at the end of the match!
  19. Your judgement of what constitutes a nailed on penalty is just as bad as your judgement of a decent striker.
  20. Me too. It is a pain!
  21. The original post pointed out that many people on here moan win, lose or draw which is 100% spot on. And given that you infect virtually every thread on here, it is impossible to avoid you.
  22. But it isnt though is it? It is a lot more than 3.
  23. I can. Sharing a cell with you, Batman and CB Fry would beat that hands down.
  24. If players aren’t getting any game time it makes perfect sense to loan them out elsewhere. It also puts these players in the shop window if it is decided they will not make the grade with us. What annoys me is when our loanees end up bench warming elsewhere and not playing. Defeats the object of the excerise. If the young players are good enough they get used. Those going out on loan clearly haven’t done enough to stake a claim in the 1st team squad.
  25. In which case I hope that his time was well spent. He probably also watched 45 mins more of the match than the voters on TUI poll
