  1. Nice try Sour but you know full well that he is talking about people with closed minds and bigoted views. I think we all understand that terrorism is being challenged and dealt with as much as is possible.
  2. It wasn't meant as an insult Whelk. I really think that he has some serious issues. I don't take mental health issues lightly and have been treated for depression myself in the past and my ex wife had really bad OCD. I have worked with some people who are on the spectrum and they show similar traits to our friend. It would certainly answer a few questions.
  3. I think that you will find that they will be charged with rape and not with being Muslims Hutch. And where did I say the gangs didn't exist?
  4. voyeur
  5. Where have I said that rape gangs didn't exist please? I know people in the village who happen to be gay and they happen to be friends - there might be more, I really don't know. One of them I used to work for in the CPS. Nothing sinister about it. I only raised the point before because Hypo was getting his panties in a bunch about Gay people and apparently you have to know Gays or Muslims personally before you can have a view about them. Glad we agree about Turkey.
  6. I agree that it is a waste of time, but his views are exactly what IS are trying to promote and they do need challenging. It is just a shame that more posters don't use their energy to challenge these views but it seems that some have other priorities! To be fair to Sour Mash though, at least he is up front about what he really thinks and you know what you are dealing with.
  7. So you have no direct experience of any of the things you accuse me of having no direct experience of yet you choose to hate a whole religion and I chose not to. What questions am I not answering? I have already said I am not bothered if a mosque was built here. We already have a church which is empty most of the time so it would be nice to have a place of worship that was used. I don't have a problem if Muslims moved in next door. The pub is the heart of the community here and the chances of it being closed are pretty slim. Are they closing your pubs down then?
  8. You don't have to. I was just curious how someone comes to have so much hatred for so many people that they don't know and don't do them any harm. I might be miles away from it but we don't know where the next attack may come. If it comes here it wont change my opinion. I also used to work in London at the height of the IRA attacks and guess what, I don't hate the Northern Irish either.
  9. Isnt it good news that some potential terrorists have been arrested?
  10. You have been caused these problems personally? No, trust me, you and I will never agree that peaceful Muslims are a problem.
  11. You really do spout some rubbish mate. Tell me, has this happened to you or anyone you know?
  12. Slow off the mark there Batman! Good news though.
  13. So no direct problems caused by Muslims then? They are here whether you like it or not mate. In fact there are over 1 billion of them all over the planet. What are you going to do?
  14. Carry on with your Islamophobia. Good luck with it.
  15. You make some huge assumptions here mate. I live where I live not through anything to do with anybody or their religious beliefs. If someone wanted to build a mosque in the village and they got planning permission I wouldnt be bothered. I am critical of people who tar all Muslims with the same brush. Yes there is a problem with terrorists and it doesn't matter where they live or whether I know them or not. That still doesn't make the majority of peaceful Muslims a threat. Unless you have been targeted for a hate campaign by militant Muslims perhaps? You seem to have a big issue with them so what exactly is going on in your manor?
  16. Bloody hell, and I thought we had a strange one with Hypo? Okay I will indulge you. I don't profess to be an expert on rape but I did work as a manager in the CPS for 8 years and for many of those years managed a group of paralegal officers who worked with the Rape and Serious Sexual Assault team, so yes, I know quite a bit about the prosecution of rape. I have never professed to study homosexuality nor do I profess to be an expert on the subject. There are gay people who live in the village and I socialise with some of them. You do know that Turkey is a Muslim country don't you?
  17. Oh yes, because I cant have a view on Muslims unless I know several personally. Which also means I cant have a view on Southampton FC and many other things. You really are a strange little chap aren't you? I don't think I have had an exchange like this since I was about 7 or 8 years old. Help me out here...Autism or Asperger's?
  18. Yeah, it is full of them. Who'd have thought it? I even keep in touch with one on FB but I don't know if he is a practicing Muslim or not so he probably wouldn't qualify for Hypocrite. I even went to a Muslim wedding once. Get me!
  19. Right on cue. Yes I did say that and I don't meet people and ask them what their religion is. That doesn't mean to say that I have never met any Muslims. When you meet people do you ask what religion they follow?
  20. I don't meet many Muslims in the park Whelk, but it is untrue to say that I have very little real life knowledge of Islam or any contact with Muslims. What I don't have is real life knowledge or any contact with terrorists and extremists which may be because there are not a lot of them in SE England - of the Muslim variety that is. You have probably seen the white racist mobs in Dover which is only down the road though.
  21. Charlie, you don't really need to know who Katie Hopkins is other than she is a minor tv celebrity who has had a column in The Sun and now has an online column for the Mail. She is known for her unpleasant outspoken views. Her religious beliefs only became an issue because a poster on here thought to make an issue of them rather than the comments that she made. For the record, she was being interviewed by Andrew Neill and made the point that not enough Muslims for her liking had come out and condemned the recent terrorist atrocities. Apparently the person who made an issue about what I thought her religious background was seem to think that more important than her statement condemning moderate Muslims because they hadn't satisfied her criteria as to what constitutes a decent backlash.
  22. Can't fault his self belief.
