  1. I don’t agree that we are not an attractive proposition to anyone with experience. I think that those who are available at the moment don’t fit the bill. Eckert was given the u21 job because he had the potential to eventually move up to the top job. This has happened sooner than expected because Will Still didn’t work out. He will either turn out to be a good appointment or not. Either way it doesn’t mean that the job of manager/head coach at St. Mary’s isn’t attractive to an experienced manager.
  2. Over one match?
  3. It worked for Liverpool in the past.
  4. We all make mistakes. My apologies again for getting the forum wrong.
  5. Sickening to see the way that FIFA is sucking up to Trump. What happened to not being political?
  6. I have just looked too and can’t find anything so will hold my hands up. I may have confused it with TUI or even earlier on this site, it’s not as if you don’t have previous with historical digs. I think we can both agree that I am not in your top 100 posters and never have been. What I did discover in your brief time on Sotonians were your favourite posters on this site from back in 2015. I won’t embarrass you with you first choice, but your second choice begins with T, which explains a lot 😉
  7. He also hasn’t changed a bit whereas most people grow out of it.
  8. I’ll go and have a look when I have time but is it possible that you may have deleted it when you were on the forum? Have you looked at your posts there? I’m guessing no.
  9. Let’s get this right. I didn’t accuse youof following me around on Pap’s forum. I said that you had an issue with me there, which you did. You didn’t even remember being on there when I mentioned it previously. This was ten years ago and I can’t remember exactly what you took issue with, my posting style I expect, but I wasn’t your favourite poster in the short time you were there. It is no big deal, you are still a grumpy individual and still have a pop at me, so nothing has changed.
  10. That is because, when I first mentioned their names and their connection to what most people understand as far right views, one particular poster immediately jumped in to defend them. I defended my view and so it continued. Bizarrely, he later claimed not to know who these people were. Yes, go figure! My argument was then as it is now, if you don’t support someone’s views, why defend them so vigorously? If the poster’s who use the term “Lefties” for anybody who criticises the Right slagged off Stalin or Lenin, you wouldn’t find me backing them up on here. The pile on crowd then joined him and it became a “thing,” a regular occurrence to label them as an obsession. This was before it became widespread news that both of the characters expressed odious, hateful views, though both had a great deal of support on social media. They aren’t alone of course. There are plenty of others out there like them and Andrew Tate. Of course these people have now become part of the mainstream. They should be nowhere near it and do get a lot of pushback, which makes it even stranger to find that there are people who still have a problem with anyone who has a problem with their views. If I had an obsession with them i would repost their views on a regular basis. There is no need as most people now know what they stand for. Both would be at home in the Reform Party and, given their standing in the polls, it is reason enough not to let these things slide. Another odd thing on here, there are plenty of posters on here who constantly call out Trump and his behaviour, yet there is only a couple of die hard Trump supporters who throw the TDS around at his detractors. Why is that not seen as obsessive behaviour by the usual suspects too? Talking of Trump, if I had an obsession with “far right” figures I would have known all about, and posted about, Charlie Knight. I knew nothing about this character until the day he was shot. Anyway, hopefully Egg’s findings have put paid to another bit of forum misinformation.
  11. No, I mean the managers who have been sacked because that’s what clubs do when they want to improve results. Name me one manager who has never been sacked.
  12. Indeed. I don’t know why anyone would find it surprising that racists’ names come up when discussing racists and racist opinions. There are threads about racism and Reform where it would be strange if certain names weren’t mentioned.
  13. Those names were brought up because we were discussing the definition of “far right.” It isn’t as if we were discussing our favourite biscuit.
  14. After 14 years of mismanagement the right wing media feel they have to painteverything Labour do is a disaster too. They even tried to make an issue out of Rachel Reeves saying that she was the British female junior chess champion when she actually was. They must be gutted that the Budget hasn’t turn out to be a Trusslike catastrophe.
  15. There will be more managers to choose from in a few weeks time too when the mid season cull begins in earnest.
  16. As opposed to following a young bloke around a forum? What is odd that some people are obsessed with someone who they claim is obsessed. They tend to be the same people who go on about “free speech” but if you say something they don’t like they get upset. Anyway, if I’m obsessed about anything it is not wanting this country to go down the same road as America and I am certainly not going to apologise for that.
  17. From Truth Against Hate - This has aged like fine milk. Back in 2018, Reform UK Deputy Leader Richard Tice had some thoughts on George Soros donating to UK organisations: "He doesn't live here. He doesn't pay taxes here. What right has he got to interfere with our democracy?" Fast forward to today: a Thailand-based crypto billionaire, Chakrit Sakunkrit, also known as Christopher Harborne, has just dropped £9 million into Reform UK. Funny how some rules only apply to certain people.
  18. I don’t recall the Black and White Minstrels singing about gassing Jews or any other BBC comedians making jokes about gassing Jews back in the 70’s. https://news.sky.com/story/nigel-farage-launches-tirade-at-bbc-over-allegations-he-was-racist-at-school-13479504
  19. If it is true that Spors brought him in because he saw him progressing eventually to become the first team coach then that is a reasonable assumption.
  20. Mick Fleetwood and John McVie are one of the best rhythm sections in rock. I was lucky enough to catch the Rumours tour and have seen them a few times since and they always put on a good show. Sadly just a bit too young to see the Peter Green FM though.
  21. Still having a pop after all these years when you did the same on another forum but have forgotten about. I don’t know what I have done to upset you so much but really mate, let it go. Apart from those who liked your post, no one cares. Do yourself a favour and put me on ignore. Hopefully you will have a better Christmas that way. By the way, the people who criticise me are the same old usual suspects, you being one of them.
  22. No shit, Sherlock! https://www.politico.eu/article/european-leaders-warn-us-could-betray-ukraine-in-leaked-call/
  23. What is scary is that they used to be pushing the boundaries of rock music. That was now well over 50 years ago.
  24. I refer you to my post above. I think you said that you were into Prog Rock? Perhaps if I told you I was into ELP, Yes & Genesis I might redeem myself?
