  1. Bale and Baird were big losses for us.
  2. Should win? Perhaps but we got a win at Norwich when most people would probably have felt that they should win that. It is the nature of sport and what makes sport so addictive.
  3. Exactly mate.
  4. And better hair than David Beckham.
  5. Perhaps we should bring in some Dutch coaches?
  6. After the start we had it was always going to be a tall order. Still, we have the rest of this season and the summer to prepare for a push next year so lots to look forward to.
  7. I think that they should use technology to rule on goal line technology.
  8. I agree, weak midfield and defence not good enough.
  9. Makes a change from CEOs I suppose! I am enjoying this season and the last season I enjoyed was when we made the play offs in the CCC. The current manager seems to living on borrowed time as far as some fans here would have it and the previous manager is constantly slagged off here too. I just don't understand why, but each to their own.
  10. Excuse me? What are you taking about? What rule of the mob and what flock of sheep? Do you really think that no one esle here, including Pardew, doesn't want success and promotion? The difference is that some of us appreciate that every other club want the same things and only three are going to get it no matter what we do. As for my personal career, I have been the National Sales Manager at The Guardian Media Group and have just recently passed a promotion board where I currently work so I would say that shows some ambition wouldn't you? The point I am trying to make is that other people want these jobs too and only one person gets them. Does that mean that everyone else is a useless loser who just hasn't tried? But that is what you are inferring.
  11. Now now dear, it was just a playful joke directed at his name! No need to be so touchy!!!
  12. Promotion and Europe within two seasons...would you say no to that?
  13. Yep Corky, because they need someone to blame when things go wrong. We had had many whipping boys and in recent times it has been Lowe and Burley, now its Pardew's turn.
  14. Once again dar old Alps, you don't get it do you. There is a marked difference in our posts and attitude. You are totally negative and constantly snipe at managers. I find this very strange as you don't actually see the matches and I wonder how you can form such angry and deep seated opinions from Austria. It doesn't matter where I live and how many matches I see live, I will always support the manager and the team as I appreciate that we are not Brazil and probably will never be world beaters. I hope for the best but I am not about to throw myself off a mountain if we lose, as we will. Your brand of negativity is obsessive and I think you need to have a bit of a break and put your feet up. You sound like you are heading for a breakdown mate. People like Geoge Burley and Alan Pardew are just blokes doing a job to the best of their ability, but you make it sound like they have a personal vendatta against you! I still remember that famous post you made a few years back where you accused Burley of going out of his way to scupper our promotions chances. Really? I don't mind that you ignore my opinions, but Alps, perhaps you should open your eyes and see that many many people on here find your obsessive negativy is a bit odd and don't like it very much. A fiver might not be a lot nowdays but if I want to be depressed I can get that for free by looking at my wage slip.
  15. Very wise Alps, never good to hang around when there is a mob chasing you down the road with pitch forks and a rope
  16. And I am expecting promotion in my job, but so are others so I might not get it and they might.
  17. No you don't get it. And judging by people's responses to your posts yesterday and today most other people here seem to think you don't get it either. By the way, could you explain what you mean by NorthernMonkeyLand please?
  18. NothernMonkeyLand????? WTF??????
  19. Perhaps then you would like to give us your expert opinions of where Pardew went wrong in each of these games then Alps? Oh, I forgot, you weren't there were you?
  20. Yep, I was working and clicked onto the Beeb to check the results and saw this but didn't read the correction properly and thought that there were two pens in the 85th minute and that we were drawing 2-2. Pah.
  21. Shame about Owen. Still one of our best natural finishers who has proved time and again that he can score against the best. Still, at least we have Heskey
  22. Another pointless thread by someone who just doesn't get it. Both Burley and Pardew are realists and have forgotten more about the game than some of the drama seeking attention wh*res here will ever know. Both have managed to get clubs promoted whereas there are some here who can't even manage a coherent arguement!
  23. He did such a poor job against Norwich, Walsall and Huderfield didn't he? But why is it all about Pardew? The players have proved thy can do it against the best, they should take the blame when they don't perform against the poorer teams shouldn't they?
  24. There are few certanties in life, but you could have bet your mortage on some of the comments here after a defeat. If someone had said at the Christmas that we would go until 6th March without losing a league game I would have been happy with that. This is Southampton FC we are talking about and very much like the Bristish summer, a few hot days then a thunderstorm. Under every single manager we had ever had we have beaten teams that you would expect us to lose to and lost games that we expected to win. Out of the last 5 league games we have had three excellent results and two disappointing results. Last season would probbaly would have lost most of those games. Ther is onr thing that no manager can guarantee but one thing that successful teams need - consistancy. If it was that easy then all teams would cancel each other out all of the time. AP made a valid point the other day. It is not the end of the world if we don't go up this season. The team will be stronger next year and in a better place to compete if we do go up then. And for all of the moaning minnie drama queens this morning, if you can't deal with supporting a team in the 3rd division perhaps you are supporting the wrong club?
  25. Unlimited cash DD? Where did that come from? From what I can see they are working to a budget (nothing wrong in that by the way). I think the buys have been prudent, we are certainly not throwing money around like Man City (or Portsmouth used to!). But as I keep trying to tell you, it is not about how much you spend, it is who you spend it on. There are plenty of teams in Div 3 (in old money) that are competitive on a shoe string. For a number of years we survived in the top flight on a relative shoestring.
