My children live in Spain and are due to be coming over to me for the Christmas hols and are flying (or might be) BA. Bah! In this day and age there are no reasons to strike. At the end of the day the company will lose even more money/business which will equate to more job losses. I work in the public sector and we have to save £500k a year for the next three years in our area. Over the whole country that equates to a 20% jobs cut. There will be no strike though and no inconvenience for the public. Sadly it is the way of the world. It is called reality in a tough financial climate. BA are in the cr*p financially which means it will be tougher for the staff - welcome to the real world! To take it out on the people who pay their wages at Christmas speaks volumes about what the cabin staff really think about the people they are suppose to serve. Well Duncan, you are a cabin staff shop steward aren't you? Wha do you have to say about this?

Is this the new window at Staplewood that all the fuss was about??

We have had too many sideshows that we don't need in the past and this is another. The only thing that matters is getting this club promoted, not petty spats between people who should know better.

Like it or not, it has given some really talented people the chance to have a career. Leona Lewis is very good and her cover of Snow Patrol's Run is far better than their version. Alexandrea Burke is a very good performer and Diane Vickers is now in a West End show. At least it has an end product which is more than can be said for I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. THis is far more deserving of scorn in my book. How many times can you watch a "has been" or "never was" eat bugs? Every year it seems for some! If it wasn't for Ant & Dec sending the whole thing us so well a la Wogan and Eurovision it would be the worse thing on TV.

Which goes to show that Pardew has come in and sorted out many of the problems that we had before (thanks in no small measure to the new investment). Rome wasn't built in a day but we are finally back on track and long may the revival continue.

Saints 3-0 Tranmere Rovers: Post Match Reaction

Duncan, you got your wish. Lowe went and we were relagated (again). Still not happy? The last time I was gutted if we scored less than 2 goals at home Cahoon was in his prome. We are now regulalry scoring 3 goals a game...what's wrong with this picture? -

We are winning every week and we are scoring 3 goals a game at the moment. I would suggest that this is no bad thing and long may it continue. I don't want us playing like Brazil and getting nowhere. If we play ugly and get out of the 3rd division I will be more than happy. I seem to remember us playing some pretty football under JP with no end result. What would you rather have? Previous managers have been pilloried for not getting results every week. It now seems that even if you do that is not good enough for some. Even Alpine has given up posting so he must be in a straightjacket by now. -
Newspapers may be dying in terms of sales but they currently still drive agendas and inform TV news programmes. It time they may well move to online subscritions but not for a while yet. When you are going to work it is still eassier to pick up a paer than log into and read the same amount of mews on an IT device. I spent 30 year working for The Times, Guardian, Telegraph and The Spectator. There is still something about newspapers and magazines that will never be replaced by the online media.

Like others I suspect that there is more to this tham meets the eye, but as long we we keep winning football matches I couldn't care less about the spat. Lowe took stick stick for his relationship with them though and it does make you wonder now if it was more them and less him...unless we have another LOwe on board in NC?

LOL you guys are too cool....It is just a bit of fun and some of these people are actually better than the so called "stars" (Joe outsung George Michael last night). It is just abit of entertainment on weekend TV. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Simples. There isn't much else on. Oh, yes and I do care. I though that Stacey was really funny and would love to have seen her win.

It is a real shame but it seems that some of our fans cannot handle the good run of form and seem to be waiting for us to lose again before they feel they have anything to say. I don't get it, after the last few years you would think they would be euphoric? Perhaps they are still pinning for Pearson??? And by the win, winning on penalities means that you have won the match otherwise what is the point of them???.

Said to Jeffrey Archer by Dame Edna Everidge, "If you can't laugh at yourself you could be missing the joke of the century."

I think a lot of people outside Southampton might argue that Beckham was the better player of the two over their whole careers, but out of the two I would rather watch Le Tiss than Beckham.

It was indeed. Never eat anything bigger than your own head. Doubt if that one was Churchill though.

WGS was far from perfect. He bought some dross and he c*cked up the selection for the Cup Final side big time. But he did leave us with some decent memories. I agree with you though and think he decided to go because he realised he had lost the plot somewhat with us.

Awards are like piles, eventually every ars*hole gets one.

It is the same with golf, well all major sports really. You can't practice in real life situations every day, but you can practice until it becomes 2nd nature to succeed more often than not. Hoddle's view was probably skewed by the fact that he had a huge amount of natural ability and confidence. Most players don't have that and have to work at it. Hence the old adage "Pratice makes perfect".

I am 55 years old and in my relatively short life time I have seen a huge change in the climate/weather. The seasons have shifted and become more blurred. In fact we tend to have "weather" rather than seasons in many respects. I remember the infamous smogs in the 60s in which many people died. Thankfully those extremes have gone but we still breath in polluted air every day and they can't be good for us, let alone the planet. For any species to survive they need a sustanable eco system. Whatever your views about global warming, mankind is overpopulating the planet to the point where, in the not too distant future, the planet will no longer be able to sustain such a high level of human existance. The planet will die of natural causes eventually, but I don't think it is unreasonable to say that mankind is accelerating the process.

Agreed. Saw him play it live a couple of years ago in concert in Tunbridge Wells. Awesome and truely Christmassy.

I think, to be fair, that "legend" status is built up over time not a few seasons. Although he did a good job for us while he was with us, you can't really compare him to real legends like Ted Bates and Lawrie McMenemy.

I thought it was Forest away we beat in the final game?
