  1. Ah I see, so that was all a part of the Wilde plan was it? To get Lowe out, spend the cash, let him back in and have us at the very brink of extinction? Rapidly followed by a near takeover by another potless/clueless outfit. Brilliant.
  2. You seem to be forgetting a group of people who came along and splashed £7m quid that we obviously could ill afford. But don't let that spoil your arguement.
  3. Neither of whom were Lowe supporters, so what is your point???
  4. No it is not all he said but it is the basic premise. As it turned out it was right as the minute the Wilde Bunch rode into town and blew the cash it was all downhill to administration in pretty quick time. As for the rolly eyes things, my young daughters love those things but that is about the age group they work for.
  5. I think his point was that we had to live within our means when many supporters were complaining that we were not spending shedloads of money. In hindsight I would say Jonah had a point, wouldn't you?
  6. Don't worry, they are storing up plenty of negativity and will be out in force when we lose another game. They must be gutted though, all these wins! They will find something to moan about though as did a group of Birmingham supports against Bruce when Brum were top of the CCC. Some people it seems are only in it for the pain!!!
  7. Oviously it was a worry that it took so long to get out of the bottom zone but the last 13 matches do not lie. What is more encouraging is that we are winning games we we are not playing brilliantly, something all the top teams can do becaus no one plays brilliantly every week. Pardew is doing well. Yes, still room for improvement but again, the same can be said for most teams. Mind you, the moaners will be out in force again once we lose a match.
  8. Pardew is no mug and why someone thought to start a thread saying it wasn't a question of if he should go but when is beyond me. It is just as well that fans don't run football clubs, mind you we have one not so long ago...d'oh!!!
  9. The league. But if you go out into every game wanting to win it that is all we can ask of the team. I don't like the idea of a "priority." We should look to win every match.
  10. I am not saying this is the case here, but sometimes decent players struggle in the lower leagues. Players don't make the runs that you might get from a better class of player or make themselves available in the right place at the right time. I did hear a rumour that we bought him because they wanted to make money on him as he had potential. He started off brightly enough but stalled. It will be interesting to see if AP can get the best out of him.
  11. Oh dear, you are not in a very good mood today are you? For goodness sakes, lighten up! Are you not happy that we are actually winning a lot more games than we are drawing or losing???
  12. It would make sense for clubs in the same vicinity but can't see it working for us.
  13. When was the last time we won so many games? That is not spin it is a fact. Even the might Man Utd win games in which they are poor, that is the mark of a good team. We are now winning gaames where we are not always at our best. Okay, it didn't work against Brighton but even though we played poorly if we had taken our chances we could have won. Nick didn't say we will reach the play offs, he was just pointing out that over the last 11 games we have an amazing record (especially for a club like us starved of anything to get excited about for years). It was long before this run started that there was a thread on here entitled Pardew Out, But When. Nicks stats show just how stupid some people can be. Lat year we got excited about 3 wins back to back. This year we should be just as happy with 8 winds in 11 shouldn't we? Where's the spin in that? You know as well as I do that there are many people here who get off on the negatives, and goodness knows we have had more than our share of those. Why can't we just enjoy a set of stats that show that we can win matches without worrying about "spin" or what or what not happen by the end of the season? If we keep wiining matches at this rate Nick can "spin" all he likes. It is points on the board that matter and we are putting up there faster than we have done for years. I am not going to find something to moan about even if others are.
  14. Probably better than being Victor Meldrew in disguise though eh Alpine?
  15. God forbid you should raise anything positive Nick, you know how the wrist slitters on here hate any good news!
  16. Oh dear Duncan, you seem to be morphing into Alpine! Can't you just enjoy the fact that we are having a decent run of form for a change? It is hardly "spin" in the way New Labour used it is it? It is a list of the last 11 games and for the first time in years we have won lots of matches. Enjoy! It won't stop the Usual Suspects from calling for Pardew's head next time we lose mind....
  17. You know what I mean, none of them get the continued abuse as ex managers that Burley gets do they?? If you don't like my posts don't read them. I take it back, you are not Alpine in disguise, you are worse.
  18. Did it get a fair trial?
  19. Why did the pervert cross the road? Because he was still stuck up the chicken!
  20. More end product??? 3 wins in 13? Sorry, I don't get it. I don't agree that he truned things round, although if he had had a season maybe he would have. As for Leceister, different set, up different circumstances. You can bet if they don't go up in 2 seasons he will be sacked. What you and many others seem to miss is what I am trying to say. My point (and yes I do use stats to back it up) is that we call someone who actually managed to get the highest win ratio of any manager we have had "rubbish" and a "car wreck" when he obvioulsy wasn't from his record. Pearson on the other hand by those same people (and Pearson had a lot of detractors on here too) barely managed to keep us up and he is a hero. If this forum had been around when McMenemy took us down and then spent 3 years getting us back up with players like Channon in the side can you imagine the grief he would have got? Redknapp spent £6m and took us down. Nicholl squandered the legacy that McMenemy left behind. Strachan bottled the Cup Final squad selection. No critisism for them. Burely had one full season in which he achievd what he set out to do and that is make the play offs. His side played attacking football and only Sunderland scored more that season (and we had the 4th best goal difference). Yes he made mistakes but he also provided the most successful season since Strachan so I'm afraid I can't subscribe to the "rubbish" tag. I also find it odd that some people hope and pray that he will fail in future jobs, all so they can come back and say I told you so I suppose. Oh well, that Brits for you. Build people up then knock them down. I wish him well for the future, unless he ends up down the road of course!
  21. sorry, see below!!!
  22. Well it would give his detractors on here more ammo that's for sure! Still as we know, different managers fair differently at different clubs. Can you imagine if he took the job and made them successful! Poor old Alpine would throw himself off the nearest mountain!!
  23. Are you Alpine is disguise?
  24. Funny that as Pearson managed for 13 whole games and he has been judged as some kind of hero for us??? Ah, I see, that 1 game mkes all the difference!!! Frankly I think anyone who can break the Celtic/Rangers monopoly/monotomy deserves some credit, as do they for taking a team like Ipswich up and into Europe. But then once we have someone to blame for our demise let's not let any facts get in the way. Still find it odd that someone who won football matches and scored lots of goals is derided more than the bloke who took us down, but that is internet chat sites for you I suppose.
  25. Pot ketle black once again Alpine when it comes to seeking attention. You obviosuly didn't get enough as a child...anyway... Here we go again "usless for us". You still choose to ignore the point that he put more points on the board than any Saints manager and yet he was "usless". The legacy he left? Second highest scorers in the divsion and into the play offs, what a complete bastard. Nearer the play offs than relegation when he left yet you still chose to blame him (even though Pearson only managed 3 wins in 13). Still close you eyes stick your fingers in your ears and sing la la la very loudly. As long as you and your ilk have pantomine villians to blame all will be right in your world. There are plenty of people on here who can see that the bloke wasn't the worst manager of all time but unlike me, they can't be bothered to rise to your childish taunts. I'll let you get on with it now, I have a life to get on with.
