Lets not heap to much pressure on JWP yes he looks an outstanding prospect but thats it at the minute he is still a prospect David Prutton was captain of England under 21's remember!
-
I read it more that he told the boss to play him or he was off and the boss said earn it if you want to play and you'll leave when the club decides or at the end of your contract which ever comes first.
-
Front three of Welbec left, Lambert Centre and Sturridge right? Rooney will cry off and we need width from somewhere as the midfield sure as hell won't be supplying it. Hart has to stay in goal as the other options are not proven if we had a top notch reserve with high level experience chomping at the bit then I'd say go for it but we clearly don't have that luxury!

Tord Grip scouting for us has targets lined up.....

Saw him play for us at Notts County and he was half decent in a shower of sh1t performance -
Perfectly ridiculous but each to their own. Rickie is a really good player and I've loved having him in the team and will continue to do so but Pahars was exceptional if you took the player he was when he first joined us and put him into the English third teir records would have tumbled, I think the injury scared spell at the end of Pahars time has clouded peoples minds!

Bit harsh I think McGoldrick and Gillett have both proved themselves reasonable Championship players and Holmes if it wasn't for hi broken body is easily upto that level.
-
Always felt sorry for Jamie White he had so much potential but for me that season destroyed his career he was far to young and lacking in experience to carry the weight we put on him. I'm not saying he would have been premier leaue but I think he was far to talented to sink as far as he has.
-
If he plays well against the Ukraine and scores the winner then that assures him a place in the next squad rinse and repeat with good performances and he's on the plane to Brazil, yes he needs luck on his side, yes he will need to have a great season for saints and yes he will have to play well comming off the Bench once Rooney et all are fit but if he keeps up his standards he will be in it's his to loose now.

almost everyone I've spoken to has been full of praise for him, it does really concern me that England will go into a vital qualifier with only Lambert and Defoe in the squadas strikers it certainly says alot about the lack of strength in depth available at the moment.

Mirror: Meet Tommy Forecast, the £20million non-league goalkeeper
a1ex2001 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Do we have definitive proof either way? I've heard both versions argued but never seen anyone produce a shread of evidence the club I don't think have ever commented on the structure of either the bale or walcott deal and exactly what we cahsed in! -
Exactly otherwise how could we have had the secret mystery trialist from poland a few years ago to distract us from the Skacel merry go round!
-
Was five or six years ago now and we only saw one can of real coke in 11 days and that was a dodgy mexican import. No McDonalds, No Starbucks, No KFC was fantastic! Some cigars drink rum (Mojito's!) and soak up the atmosphere of a great country.

Multi centre is the only way to do Cuba if you ask me we did 6 nights on the beach in the southern tip of the island we landed at Holguin and then 3 nights in Havana before flying home from there. It is a fantastic country and so nice to be away from McDonalds, Starbucks and even for the most part Coca-Cola! If I were to do it again I'd definitely try and visit more of the country side and also the second city of Santiago we avoided Varadero because it seemed a bit too much of a toursit trap isolated from anything of the real Cuba. If your going to go then now is the time the country is changing rapidly and what the future holds is increadibly uncertain the US government still maintains that Cuba will be returned to the playboys of the pre revolution era one day but I can't see it happening. I hope they have a slow and controlled transition to a more democratic and free state and that the US drops the frankly ridiculous blockade that has served no purpose for a generation.

It's a bus.

I find your lack of commitment to the saints disturbing and will only repect you if you at least admit these fitehs are wearing saints shirts (stipey ones!) in your dreams!
-
Sick of these kits, once again we look more like liverpool than saints! Virtually all red kit TICK stupid cold sponsor and crests TICK once again I won't be buying a replica shirt this season I only with the masses would resist as well so it sent a real message to the club! Southampton play in red and white stripes and have done for most of our history, I loved the sash kit for the anniverssary because it linked back to our history but the rubish we've seen the last two seasons is just plain odd no link to the history of the club and no reason offered. We';ve waited all this time to get one of the worlds leading kit makes doing our shirts and we go an ruin it with this pile of poo!

JWP & Cody Cropper take on the world (u-20s World Cup)
a1ex2001 replied to MOSaint's topic in The Saints
Where are these excellent players of which you speak, we have produced a handfull at best and haven't produced much in the way of real world class talent since Gazza, It's not just the current generation thats the problem either looking at recent results it's this and the next generation that are lacking so lets hope it's only a two generation 'blip'! Coaching is awful in this country still too much emphasis on winning games and not enough on developing the basic skills the number of professionals in this country who's first touch is bad is truly shocking then add the ones who only pass to the oposition or 40 yards down the pitch to nobody and you really staring down the barrell! -
Even back then we had at least one fantasy story a year I remember the Bierhoff summer and a couple of Janker ones!
-
They don't need to it'sobvious, very very few promoted club ever state that as the goal everyone talks about pushing on etc etc etc but realistically any club promoted to the premier league has the simple goal of staying up first season and we all know it!
-
Which obviously we won't, the club have consistently invested over the last few years and will no doubt continue. Everyone knows that realistically our aim this season was to avoid relegation and it looks like we will reasonably confortably I'm certainly not bricking it like I was back in the good old days of the great escapes. Alpine likes his little attention seeking thread where he demands we sign dozen's of world class players the day the transfer window opens or he will write us off as failures! Every year he has been proved wrong but refuses to accept it and says we just keep getting lucky. He will spend all summer moaning about a lack of activity yet never point to a team who've done better than us or a player we should have signed that we actually ever had a chance of getting. In short he is nearly as boring and repetative as Darlek and just as irritating but plenty of people will still bit on his obvious troll.
-
Great player for us and a nice guy, I wish him all the best and hope he fullfills his potential.
-
So will this thread now quietly die or will we see a ressurgence next year as the PST gets it's self into even more financial trouble? I still have a sneaky feeling that interesting time await us the history of successful fan owned clubs in the UK is not great. Does anyone know of a bookie quottng odds on another administration even in 12-18 months?
-
Because he will want to play at the highest level which won't be happening anytime soon, like all players he will want to test himself at the business end of the league, in the Champions league and internationally. I can see him getting international caps while a Saints player but the other two are not going to happen oh and dodn't mention the circa 100K a week he could earn at oneof the big boys that we can't match!
-
Lampard really doesn't fit in the forwards list I'd put him firmly as a midfielder like Scholes or Gerrard. The others you name are much more in the forward category Cahill often played more as a second forward and Ronaldo played where ever the hell he liked! We all love MLT and rightly so but he was never a midfielder!
-
Lets be honest he was never really a midfielder that was just really convenient when picking a fantasy football team! He was a forward as is dempsey.
