I find your lack of commitment to the saints disturbing and will only repect you if you at least admit these fitehs are wearing saints shirts (stipey ones!) in your dreams!
-
Sick of these kits, once again we look more like liverpool than saints! Virtually all red kit TICK stupid cold sponsor and crests TICK once again I won't be buying a replica shirt this season I only with the masses would resist as well so it sent a real message to the club! Southampton play in red and white stripes and have done for most of our history, I loved the sash kit for the anniverssary because it linked back to our history but the rubish we've seen the last two seasons is just plain odd no link to the history of the club and no reason offered. We';ve waited all this time to get one of the worlds leading kit makes doing our shirts and we go an ruin it with this pile of poo!

JWP & Cody Cropper take on the world (u-20s World Cup)

Where are these excellent players of which you speak, we have produced a handfull at best and haven't produced much in the way of real world class talent since Gazza, It's not just the current generation thats the problem either looking at recent results it's this and the next generation that are lacking so lets hope it's only a two generation 'blip'! Coaching is awful in this country still too much emphasis on winning games and not enough on developing the basic skills the number of professionals in this country who's first touch is bad is truly shocking then add the ones who only pass to the oposition or 40 yards down the pitch to nobody and you really staring down the barrell! -
Even back then we had at least one fantasy story a year I remember the Bierhoff summer and a couple of Janker ones!
-
They don't need to it'sobvious, very very few promoted club ever state that as the goal everyone talks about pushing on etc etc etc but realistically any club promoted to the premier league has the simple goal of staying up first season and we all know it!
-
Which obviously we won't, the club have consistently invested over the last few years and will no doubt continue. Everyone knows that realistically our aim this season was to avoid relegation and it looks like we will reasonably confortably I'm certainly not bricking it like I was back in the good old days of the great escapes. Alpine likes his little attention seeking thread where he demands we sign dozen's of world class players the day the transfer window opens or he will write us off as failures! Every year he has been proved wrong but refuses to accept it and says we just keep getting lucky. He will spend all summer moaning about a lack of activity yet never point to a team who've done better than us or a player we should have signed that we actually ever had a chance of getting. In short he is nearly as boring and repetative as Darlek and just as irritating but plenty of people will still bit on his obvious troll.
-
Great player for us and a nice guy, I wish him all the best and hope he fullfills his potential.
-
So will this thread now quietly die or will we see a ressurgence next year as the PST gets it's self into even more financial trouble? I still have a sneaky feeling that interesting time await us the history of successful fan owned clubs in the UK is not great. Does anyone know of a bookie quottng odds on another administration even in 12-18 months?
-
Because he will want to play at the highest level which won't be happening anytime soon, like all players he will want to test himself at the business end of the league, in the Champions league and internationally. I can see him getting international caps while a Saints player but the other two are not going to happen oh and dodn't mention the circa 100K a week he could earn at oneof the big boys that we can't match!
-
Lampard really doesn't fit in the forwards list I'd put him firmly as a midfielder like Scholes or Gerrard. The others you name are much more in the forward category Cahill often played more as a second forward and Ronaldo played where ever the hell he liked! We all love MLT and rightly so but he was never a midfielder!
-
Lets be honest he was never really a midfielder that was just really convenient when picking a fantasy football team! He was a forward as is dempsey.
-
I think the point being made is that there is a cut off date for teams entering admin and it would be interesting to know what this is as it would be a trivial matter for the FA to decide to apply this date to Pompey's current situation without appearing to be overly harsh which they have been keen not to be throughout this process. The latest Pompey points deduction is now ground for all concerned so we can only hope the FA will apply it it line with existing rules in similar situations. Howver I still don't understand how there is a points deduction for failing to agree a CVA but not one for failing to pay one you have agreed but then thats the fickle FA for you!
-
a simple tackle he should never have had to make if Shaw had been doing his job properly. Yoshida covered the ground and got in position to make the tackle perfectly after reacting to Shaws screw up and then fluffed his tackle, yes he's at fault but then so was Shaw and the rest of the defence could still have delt with the cross.
-
I laughed does that make me a sicko who is going straight to hell? He's a young lad leave him alone it's hardly the greatest of crimes, as long as he learns from it then really who cares? I'm not a huge fan of all this footballers are not aloud to make the occasional bad judgment hysteris the interent has bought to life!

I filled it in. PS it is a very badly designed questionaire and the software driving it is rubish.

Jamie White - ex Saints Academy- Now Salisbury

Looked like a quality prospect and I'm sure he was linked with Real Madird when he was a teenager! Looked quite good when thrown into our first team under portaloo but really wasn't ready for the pressure that was heaped on him as being the next big thing. I seem to remember he crumbled after giving away a penalty and steadily faded away. That brutal introduction to the first team combined with some nasty injuries seemed to finish him before he really got started here I remember being disapointed he was released when we sunk to League 1 as I thought he had real potential in a stroner more stable team. His recent form suggests a return to league football before to long and he's still young enough to carve out a reasonable league career. -
See no real reason why not, those that want to be ****ed already are! Could be a first step to the repeal of lots of the silly rules that were born out of 80's hooligans and maybe even a return to standing areas!
-
I could see it happening this summer, not that I'd be pleased by it! Rickie is comming to the end of his career whether we like it or not and this summer might be the last chance for the club to cash in on him, if West Ham could be persuaded to part with 5m or so and we have a quality replacment or two lined up it would be tempting financially to do the deal. Might also be a temptation for Rickie one last pa day oppertunity he's never had a big transfer to collect a nice signing on fee and some silly wages and this could be his last chance. Would much rather he stayed here until he retires mind!
-
No they wouldn't don't be so ridiculous, that is the sort of sensationalist rubish that makes people afriad to watch youth football!
-
Was at Hilsborough on the weekend taking in the delights of Sheffield Wednesday v's Derby and the Wednesday band are criminal it just sounds so tacky.

Do Saints have the best players in the world w/o an international cap?
a1ex2001 replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Lallana and Lambert would get a mention if you wer talking about English players without a cap and I'm sure both would make the starting lineup if you were to draw up a team of current English players who are uncapped. World wide I doubt they are the best people have already pointed out Arteta and Michu and I'm sure if you look at the Spanish league you will find further gems. -
Ridiculous decision by the football league I'm not sure they should be saying who is best to buy a business out of administration that should be a decision for the experts? There role should be limited to deciding if the administrators chosen bidder is a 'fit and propper' person to run a football club. Don't think it makes any difference at all though really, the PST clearly are not in a position to buy the club which is only highlighted by there ever changing figures. Few more months of fun for us yet before they should go pop this summer!
-
I'm not that bothered the defence has looked reasonably solid in recent weeks and if we could as a team defend a set piece they were pretty much un troubled at Wigan. Don't want to see foren rushed in before he's fully fit and ready we are not desperate.
-
Good honest pro who worked hard for the team and made the most of his ability, liked him alot without ever really thinking he was anything special.
-
No silly thats not including Rosies tax free bonus or Harrys box of dog biscuits both of those go under the table in the brown paper bag. Still waiting for the QPR loan signing that will obviously never play and is only there to keep some back handers in harrys pocket!
