  1. Yes! I agree with everyone that it is sad to see him go but the club have no choice when players want to go they go and getting a world record transfer fee for a teenager is pretty good business. It's sad that the very cream of the academy lads will probably always move on but hopefully they will leave us financially sound and we can all enjoy the next generation and the slightly lesser players like Lallana who stick around longer. Wish people would stop mentioning the goal and assist figures for lambert they really are nothing special once you knock off those from free kicks and penalties which should be easy enough to replace.
  2. The World Cup has revealed to the world what we already knew if we were honest great player though Adam is he is too one paced to make it to the very top of the game and certainly not a 30m player. Interesting to see what Liverpool decide now the hype has eased off. Shaw has done the reverse he looked quality when he finally got a chance and I'm sure the vultures will be circling low and in numbers!
  3. 1/10 for trolling abilities
  4. FIFA have the power to give him a global ban and should for 6 months but will bottle it and probably do nothing!
  5. Attention hoar everyone move along!
  6. this isn't necessarily the case at all, what needs to happen is we replace this generation with another set of up and coming players I don't remember last summer people thinking we'd signed a future Barca player when Lovren arrived and there was a time in League one when a lot of fans thought Lallana was over rated! I don't think we will be as strong next season but I don't think we will be like a small kid in the corner being bullied because we've got no decent players at all.
  7. The whole bbc line up just seems garbage, rio is a muppet Alan shearer thinks he's grant Mitchell they are all just so annoying!
  8. How many of them would be content with a place on the bench at best? Every club has to have some decent honest pro's who are happy to act as backups and Yoshi fits the bill perfectly good enough not to be embarrassing if required but not so good he won't play second fiddle.
  9. ^ serious question who is doing the tackling or protecting our not so great back four? That team has Keegan's Newcastle writ large across it! Agree they looked well ropey at the back and we looked strong going forward so should be a perfect match up, sadly Roy won't drop Rooney or move him centrally so we will still be a round peg in a square hole. No way Suarez is fit, for me he is risking his career much like Delgado did after a similar knee op if I was a Liverpool fan I'd be worried as that 90 million quids worth of gamble!
  10. Really pleased with that, hopefully it will put rumours of our immanent demise to bed there's no way he came her to oversee an asset strip. Finally some positive news in this summer or discontented rumblings!
  11. Got to love football fans, the more I read this forum the more I'm convinced I'm wright to think the majority are idiots! It was a decent England performance and a draw would probably have been a fare result on the balance of play. Loving the 4-1 crowd counting free kicks against the crossbar and shots cleared off the line. If those count then our free kicks on the edge of the area definitely do as a miss is as good as a mile and with a little luck on another day they would have gone in then add Rooney missing when it was easier to score and we are back to evens. Get a grip people it was a decent showing and if we maintain those standards we have a good chance of going through with only Italy (one of the best sides in the world) above us in the group!
  12. Well said, we won't forget it and he won't forget it who gives a damn if the media want to refer to him as a Liverpool player? Me either he's quick, direct and has a decent goalscoring record at international level. Lallana is great but doesn't have the pace or goal threat and clearly that is what Roy is looking for tonight.
  13. As long as Liverpool match the highest offer and it's above our asking price then I couldn't care less, we are not and never will be rivals.
  14. Who was the last manager to leave spurs and go onto bigger things? I seriously can't think of anyone who didn't leave with a reputation in tatters! On the other hand I can list plenty who have led saints with their stock high in recent years, so no we are not a poison chalice we are a great opportunity for anyone interested which is why the board will have had alot of applicants to sift throught!
  15. The press speculation on this is getting stupid they clearly don't really have a clue what is going on! I'm just looking forward to it all being over one way or another!
  16. Shaw is to blame for letting the Ecuador lad get goal side of him before the cross came in and never recovering, fair play if he still get's beaten in the air by the bigger stronger player but Cole would have at least been between him and the goal to make him work for it. Crap game all round England can't keep the ball, can't defend and one goal was an offside handball the other a goal keeping blunder. They can probably stop practising pens now!
  17. It's the loyalty bonus and % of the transfer fee they loose, Wayne Bridge handed in a transfer request because he didn't 't want to take the clubs money which shows the class of the individual.
  18. No quote from Adam so no story for me. He may well want to leave but until he goes formal and hands in a transfer request or goes to the papers with direct quotes I'm not buying it! I do expect he will probably go this could be his only opportunity to go to a top 4/5 club his stock is at it's highest right now but an average World Cup and a mediocre season next year and he will never know if he could have made it. Can't say I'm happy about it but I'm not buying into all the hatred and bile bring poured out on here. He is just a young man trying to make the most of his career and earn as much money for his family as possible just like the rest of us.
  19. Spot on! Everyone seems to be swallowing every rumour the press throws out there and so far the only player to leave was a complete out of the blue blindside and it looks like so dar the board are standing firm on the rest and at least demanding deals are done on our terms. The papers have had Lallana and shaw sold for weeks but they are still here funny how they all missed the one real deal must have been to busy making up stories about wanyama and lovren to notice! I'm worried but no point in assuming the worst, let's wait till August and see who us in red and white! COYS!
  20. Agree with all that he's clearly worth between 25 and 30 million and if Liverpool want the deal done quick then they need to pay nearer the top end and if Adam is desperate to get it done then he should put in a transfer requests and waive his share of the fee and any loyalty bonus. Bridge did it properly when he went to Chelsea so why can't this generation do the same?
  21. God even this thread is full of muppets. Thanks for the memories SRL you will be sorely missed and fondly remembered!
  22. Lallana's if he stays otherwise a new signing don't burden any of the youngsters with it even if they are really up for it!
  23. We survived LeTissier retiring we will survive this no player is bigger than the club.
  24. Slightly harder if you ignore goalkeepers and even more of a challenge if you ignore the silly rich clubs (Paris SG, Chelsea etc) paying way over the odds for past it big name players. 4 million+ for a player of RL's ability, age and standing is decent money there are very very few players like him who fetch that sort of money.
  25. If four million is such peanuts where is the list of 30+ year olds who have been transferred for in excess of 4 million? It is peanuts for young players but not for a fast depreciating asset like Rickie (no disrespect to him being a legend!) We needed a backup anyway so that doesn't come into it we also needed to replace him and we now have more money to do it and don't have an unhappy player moping about the place wishing he was at Liverpool. Lambert could quite happily have sat out the next three years of his contract doing nothing if he was ****ed off. It's not good or bad business until you see the end result but what it clearly is is business.
