Lovren is only getting games as he is all they have, both he and the Liverpool deffence in general are garbage at the minute! Chamber I think would have seen more bench time but for the gunners injury problems!
-
Do people really believe in this myth about heads being turned on international duty? The players were all hot property with or without england caps how does chambers fit this silly story or Walcott and Ox? How about Forster should we hope he gets dropped? Clyne should be England's current right back on form and I hope hodgson picks him as he deserves it! One day he will probably leave for a shed load of money to a top Four side but that will be nothing to do with strive g taping him up on england duty!
-
Besides which this left footed right footed combination thing is just rubbish that has spilled over from champ manager plenty of right footer play the left side of the pair perfectly well.
-
I knew a return to the own brand rubbish would mean a fall back to the terrible quality, my umbro shirts are completely free from pulls and other defects despite years of use and washing but all my older 's' brand shirts look and feel horrible with numerous pulls or logo peels/fades. Let's hope the club kiss and make up with Adidas or find another decent company to work with!

Decent performance and beat a side that don't loose at home to anyone very often, got a little bit of luck but then so did they! I much prefer the look of the England side when we get away from 442, some of the personnel could do with a swap I wouldn't play Wilshere let alone as a holding midfielder he needs to go back to Arsenal and build some form. The right back situation is laughable I think the whole saints team should warm up in Clyne for England T-Shirts it's crazy that we are using an inexperienced centre half to fill in at right back when Clyne suits that formation perfectly. Jones is a liability at the minute and is another who needs to go back to his club and earn another call up short term I'd put Jags back in but we need to develop someone to take the role long term which means Stones and Chambers need to both be playing week in week out and centre back which doesn't seem to be happening. No we won't win Euro 2016 but we will qualify and perform ok with a young side, not the finished article but definite signs of improvement. Still can't believe the number of muppets on here that said Welbeck wasn't good enough for us!

Talking Tactics: Koeman gives Saints fans reasons to be cheerful
a1ex2001 replied to pap's topic in The Saints
I think he's on a hiding to nothing, with the quality they have everyone expects them to beat the smaller teams comfortably and with style which I think they will do but for him to have the same outstanding success with them that he had with us he will need to be pushing very hard for top 4, that's what the fans and chairman expect and I just don't think the team has it in them. I expect him to join the long list of spurs failures shortly! -
Has everyone forgotten about Florin Gardos?

He will be if he doesn't keep his performance level high, that's the advantage of having a quality player to bring in and not Jos as a last resort! -
Gaston Ramiez to Hull on Season Long Loan - Official
a1ex2001 replied to NorthamSteve's topic in The Saints
You mean he is Hulls Imants Bleidelis or Cléber Chala? They both worked out well for us! -
Saw him make his Barnsley debut against Sheffield Wednesday last season and get sent off early doors for two stupid tackles in between which he was worthless. Big time attitude for a small time player!
-
If he won't sign a new contract and has proved his fitness he will be sold in January, simple as. Hopefully we will continue our good form and he will sign a new deal as he is quality but otherwise I will fully support his sale!

Gaston Ramiez to Hull on Season Long Loan - Official
a1ex2001 replied to NorthamSteve's topic in The Saints
I feel disappointed he's gone but can't work out why when I analyse it rationally, in the two years he has been here he has contributed very little so realy we've lost nothing except a big wage we were paying for a player that didn't contribute an awful lot. Gaston has always been an odd one I think we all just really wanted him to be a success he was the first really big money wow signing we made after returning to the top so it's only natural we all feel a bit disappointed. -
So he should he's the manager after all! Pleased with the summer business still a bit annoyed we lost Chambers before we had a chance to enjoy watching him grow but these things happen the ins look good particularly Tadic who seems to have replaced Lallana which I thought would be the hardest job. Little worried about the strike force but then I was last season!
-
Not many work out do they!
-
He can't be on much so I'd keep him about until at least the end of the season
-
Van Gaal or Koeman? Which great Dutch manager would you prefer?
a1ex2001 replied to SaintRobbie's topic in The Saints
Koeman for me simply because we don 't have the players for LVG's three at the back setup and he seems incapable of recognising a similar situation at United. -
I thought it was quite amusing
-
No I'm just trying to work out which deals are real and which are not this seems no more concrete than the Romanian chap who at last count has had 6 medicals, it seems things might be getting a sticky a little early on the board lately.
-
Is this actually happening or is it like the Romanian defender?

Guardian Premier League 2014-15 preview No14: Southampton
a1ex2001 replied to Toon Saint's topic in The Saints
Sums things up decently, I'm not really sure what will happen this season but it will definitely be interesting! -
Was slightly underwhelmed when we signed lambert, couldn't have been more wrong he turned out to be a legend and will always be a saint to me. Only other signing in my memory that comes close for value and impact was Pahars when he came in and kept us up. It does make you think just how many other players down the league could make the step up given the right opportunity Rickie can't be the only one!
-
This, fully expecting a whipping and this place to melt!
-
Still think we should have signed him Permanently!
-
If only football fans weren't such a bunch of idiots it's great to be sat in your seat with a beer at the rugby sevens or similar. Never eaten food at a footy ground it all looks and smells like crap and costs silly money!
-
Have you forgotten the stoke goalie beat him from the other end of the pitch?
-
On what grounds could the Pfa object? He is a contracted player who has said he is not fit mentally or physically to represent the club, training either under 10's should let him rebuild his mental state in less pressurised surroundings! Being more serious I can't see how the Pfa could object to him training with the reserves, man city have been doing it to players for years think Sinclair, Richards etc!
