  1. Hard to guess the line up all-round for this one be interesting to see if recent results in the league have diminished the cup appetite Koeman has previously shown!
  2. rare I agree with you! Why are people even discussing this J-Rod is going nowhere in this window as he is far to bigger risk, serious knee injury now requiring a second surgery you'd never get insurance on him and I can't imagine even Man City being willing to flush the sort of money it would take to get him down the toilet. I'm increasingly concerned about the amount of time he has been out, everyone kind of assumes that players recover from this type of injury these days as so many do but there are still a number who's careers are finished by this type of thing. I hope Jay comes back fit and strong and the same player he was it would be a shame for him to be cut down just as he was fulfilling his potential.
  3. It's sure going to be interesting, we need a good transfer window (a couple in and no serious departures) combined with good luck both in terms of result and injuries. If all that happens just maybe we can do it which would be one hell of an achievment for a club of our size with the budgetry constraints that go with it and the massive turn over in the summer. Personally I'm living in hope rather than expectation and just enjoying the esperience of being in the mix at this point in the season, god knows what happens in the summer qualify or not it's going to be a bit of a watershed in terms of the team.
  4. I'm similarly concerned which is why for me we have to play one of the youth team prospects at centre back for this one to at least give them a taste of first team football as we are only one injusry away from one of them starting at St James's this weekend. Would love to rest Pelle as he is far to impotant to risk at portman road but we don't have anything even close to a like for like swap so I think he has to play.

and if the evidence was so conclusive last time and the witness perfromances so strong why would a new jury return a different verdict? Seems like someone doesn't think the conviction is as secure as it should be, I still find the whole case rather puzzling not that I think he was inocent I've seen nothing conclusive either way.

He was refused leave to appeal because there is no new evidence to bring to the table, our appeal process holds a jury verdict sacrosanct unless new evidence is presented. There is no new evidence in this case the defendant simply believes the jury got it wrong when convicting him. The current review is the only form of 'appeal' available in the circumstances. It is an interesting case I suggest anyone who is curios reads the transcript and then sees if they could have found him guilty 'beyond reasonable doubt' as that is the measure required.
  7. didn't think he did much wrong there it was justa bit of passion spilling out he never looked like he was going to lamp him just exchange a few words. He's still an idiot though and I don't want him anywhere near the squad farm him out on loan to anyone who will have him and cut our losses at the first opportunity.
  8. Don't think there are enough cameras in the country to produce the high level of coverage we are used to of every third round game! Most games will be covered by a single camera for highlights but a live game has a truck load of them. Do you have the same opinion of 3 o'clock Saturday kick offs in the premier league? Should every game be on TV?
  9. Watching that video it's impressive how two footed Guly is given that half the England squad can barely trap a ball with their other foot. Great player in our rise up the leagues will miss signings like him and Papa Waigo now we are in the premier league!
  10. Crikey that's a bit of a drop for him! Portaloo was pretty excited about him when he signed!
  11. seems we may have dodged a bullet with his current injury record he is looking like competition for Wilshire in the made of glass competition! Did our medical team know something uniteds didn't?
  12. Good to see a reasonably positive thread, still a few idiots floating around! It's easy to forget just how good he is as his good work goes so under the radar with all the summer exodus I can't believe the only bid we received from him was a pittance from Spurs he is exactly the player Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd have been looking for! What ever happened to that chap that cam along on loan to keep him company when he first arrived? Used to love it when we signed a random friend for forign imports (Pahars and Delgado's buddies being woeful!)
  13. Imagine if Roy Hodgson had made such an odd decision the Liverpool fans would have gone mental and the press then torn him to shreds. It is such a weird double standards thing as Roy Hodgson has actually had some success in his career!
  14. The trouble with the Champions league is the league section is dull and predictable all the big clubs are kept apart meaning they qualify easily after thrashing a couple of minnows the juicy games don't kick off until the knockout phase. So really we should be thanking Liverhampton for providing some entertaining thrills this season by failing to stuff the little boys and going home early well beaten by a much better setup team. Adam would have had a better view of that debacle if he'd stayed at Saints the TV coverage offers a much better viewing experience than the bench. No idea what Rodgers was doing when he took Rickie off, the media should be tearing him apart for such tactical suicide but the Liverpool/Rodgers luv in still seems to have some legs yet!
  15. What does this make me? I was born in Manchester and spent my youth in South Wales but have been a Saints fan since the age of 7 for reasons that nobody has ever been able to explain it's not like we were even any good in the late 80's.
  16. Will always be difficult to keep hold of England's first choice right back but that must make him a 20-30m player so we will have money to replace him and hopefully we have a decent one in mind or the youth team! Loosing our best players is always a risk so there is no point obsessing over it, enjoy them while they are here and clap them when they return Clyne has certainly served his time with us so I wouldn't begrudged him a move Man Utd on mega bucks.
  17. God I hate this forum on days like today. We were beaten by the champions of England who had a player sent off who cost more than our starting line up. We lost our best midfielder at half time and had no cover. We are still third in the league and could quite easily beat Arsenal next up. Get some perspective you simpletons.
  18. apparently so, missed that! Injuries were always likely to undo us a club our size can't absorb a couple of major losses as this shows Schniederlin goes of injured his natural replacement is out ill so we re-shuffle the back four and loose. Still a great season to be a saint, all those who are going o log on and rip the team to bits need to get some perspective a weaker City side than this beat Bayern Munich in the week! We are still a small club playing well above ourselves. This makes the league cup game in Sheffield even more important for me we need to get something out of the last two seasons of success and a trip to Wemberly would be great.
  19. needed cork on the bench to cover Schniederlin and Wanyama but it's easy with hindsight. Beaten by a better side but there is no embarrassment in that they spent more on the awful Mangala than we spent on our entire first team today.
  20. lol he was never going to be that good but injury free I think he would have made a decent premier league player like Nathan Dyer has. Good but not quite out of the top draw.
  21. Not a great shortlist probably going to go to Hamilton who has all the personality of a spoilt teenage heiress and the class to match. As has been said if it was up to me on that list Max Whitlock would get the nod he is phenomenally talented, works incredibly hard in a sport that is never going to make him a rich man and gives back to his sport. Would also like to see Jo Pavey get some recognition she has worked incredibly hard over her career in the shadow of Paula and has finally in her twilight years achieved a medal she so richly deserved after having her lottery funding removed for being to old.
  22. This Holmes was quality, he was hugely impressive when he first made the Derby first team as a teenager but injuries have robbed him of a career. In the unlikely event he stays fit he is a cut well above that level much like Connolly. Wish him well when he did make the pitch for us he played well and was committed to the cause didn't he leave the pitch in tears after his knee went the second or third time as he realised his career was effectively a bust?
  23. indeed this post is why this forum needs a like button!
  24. The reaction to yesterdays game has been nothing short of comedy gold, we played well enough and 9 times out of 10 we would have won that game on the balance of play and chances. None of our players were awful they just weren't at the heights they have been so far this season and Forster made a horrible gaff that all goal keepers do occasionally ie Boruc getting beat by the stoke keeper last season or even the great Peter Schmeichel Mane has look like he has huge amounts of potential this season it's a big step up from the Swiss league and he will take time to fully settle but so far he has done brilliantly and for my money will get better and better. If this thread isn't a joke/troll then it's embarrassing.
  25. Chris Baird is at west brim isn't he?
